I bought a Mercedes and things looked ok on the initial walk-around. When I drove the vehicle home, however, I noticed that the ground effects on both sides were coming apart. On the next afternoon, I returned to the dealership, and the service manager verified my observation-they were indeed "gapped" and capable of coming apart.
He estimated that it was a simple, relatively inexpensive fix. When I explained that I did not think I should pay for this fix 24 hrs after the purchase, he turned me over a manager. When he inspected the issue, his response was I bought it, so it was my problem.
