Home adviser Is a company committing fraud by selling fake leads

HRB contracting services, owner Hector R Benitez, Lebanon, pa. Was sent by my landlord Mike Saltzer who contracted with Home Advisor to do plaster and drywall in my bedroom. This is a 1 bedroom apt. The back was was falling in.

I am 80 years old and in very poor health. Hector had on and off worked in the bedroom, he covered nothing, I tried to cover my new bed and dresser to no avail. He totally destroyed my dust buster, it does not work, and my pedestal fan which is so covered with plaster that it looks like a snowman.

The entire room , including the floors and closet are filled with mounds of plaster dust, including my bathroom and tub. He just helped himself to whatever he needed and destroyed it . I never interfered while he was here.

appointment was set up for 8:00 AM I was up at 7:30 waiting, I ate, spent time online never heard a knock or even a car drive up. around 9 I looked at my phone and there were texts saying he was there.

whether or not he was there I had no idea. I called that day to cancel future appointments, get a refund of the membership and was told it would be refunded. new charges appeared on my card at full price.

I have gotten the runaround on the phone for hours, even been told I would receive confirmation of a refund still nothing. I am still being charged and am quite tired of doing the phone thing anymore, its the same people. Social media awaits

I paid for lawn care that was canceled three times over a period of three weeks.

I think Angie and Home Advisor is a real scam.

This company is running the biggest scam. They have stolen almost $400 of my money when I was told I would get 10 free leads then they would be turned off until I could review the leads and determine if they were actually leads.

They hammered me with leads (far more than 10) and now charged me for them. I called them and they hung up on me. They have not heard the last from me. This company is horrible

I am a painting contractor who relies on lead sites such as CraftJack and Home Advisor I had joined Home Advisor before they merged with Angies List. The way they work is you set a monthly spending limit and are then sent painting leads throughout the month based on the spending limit I myself set.

The amount of leads I receive a month is completely up to me based on what I set my spending limit. 00. 00. 88 worth of leads that has since been sent to collections. I have tried to contact Home Advisor but I am given the run around.

88 and am never given a legitimate answer.

When I moved to my home in Hernando Florida, we called Home Advisor for maid service. This was in April 2021. The maid came late, she was supposed to be here at 8:00 and my husband noticed that she wasn't here at 10:00.

I called Home Advisor and the girl was an absolute ass to me on the telephone. They charged me for 2 hours work with no apology. Now, I contacted Home Advisor again to repair a sliding glass door. They were supposed to be here at 9:30 this morning and never showed.

Last April, I had a spring cleaning of my lawn done by Handy/Home Advisor. Just before the handymen left, and thereafter, I noticed that a glass door around the pool was shattered. Later, I noticed that 3 windows, on the opposite side of the house were also shattered during their mowing.

In the process of replacing the broken glass, countless small pieces of glass fell in my indoor pool, surrounded by glass doors including by the shattered glass door. Many small pieces of glass fell into the pool. Despite many efforts to vacuum all small pieces of glass, many remained on the bottom of the pool.

Requested a Janitorial Service on 2/16 Service for a 5 Bldg. Condominium Association. Was called immediately by a Mr. Santiago (301-804-9055). Talked to him view minutes and made appointment to come to our Property for interview. Then found out Mr. Santiago has no business License or Insurance I was rather surprised, your Company would refer someone without License or Insurance for a Job. Last contractor sent by HA took front money to purchase equipment and never came back. Have spoken to him a number of times and he just offers another excuse. I will either need to sue myself or forget it as HA is no help whatsoever.

Kyle Moore was recommended by HomeAdvisor. He has not returned to finish the job he started. He did this once before and I suggested that a phone call would be good if he was late or could not make it back when scheduled.

We used Home Advisor and a supposed service pro called and came out to the house. He looked at our GE refrigerator and tried to tell us it was not freezing food. But it was. He said he would come back Monday morning first thing and replace the sensors. He never did.

The last time we used Home Advisor was in March of 2018 for companies to do some concrete patchwork on a stepped entryway at our home. We ended up with a company called Great Lakes Builders and Cement Co. located in Brook Park, Ohio, which was on your lists.

They did work as outlined BUT did not complete the work to our satisfaction. They promised to come back but after repeated calls, never did return. We have since talked to a friend who also used this company and was not satisfied.

I hired Handy Manny's Services t o install a bamboo flooring in my bedroom. After a few weeks the flooring began to buckle and crackle when walked on. I called Manny and when he arrived and I showed him what was happening he said it was fine.

Well it is not fine. I called him again and he said he would fix the floor at no cost to me. After numerous calls to him He has not called back and I am stuck with a poorly installed floor.

Weeks have gone by and he does not answer my calls to him. I am so upset and do not know how to get him to honor my fixing the floor.

I have tried using your website on 2 different ocasions. I received 3 people that were interested. One was sears made appt never showed up or called. Had second one come out and was to get back with me in 2-3 days been 3 weeks and 3 days never heard back with estimate.

For the first time I used Home Advisor and had the worst experience, I was looking for Pool service and I was contacted by Hill top pool service owner Kevin conversation through text went well scheduled an appointment for a Friday, Kevin text me to confirm appointment at 1:00pm,I replied ( perfect Thanks) he never showed up after taking time off from work. I had seemless white Alluminumm Gutters put on front back of my house back in early spring, April I believe. Home Advisor recommended Clarence Gibbs, General Contractor. Paid $1400 for The Gutters and 3 downspouts. Everything was good til rain started. Then the water just pours from underneath front gutter down on the front porch steps, which was main reason we wanted gutters. Very unsatisfactory work. I have use a handyman that was referred to me by home advisor Earnest Tyner is his name. The first job was to install a new bath tub and the work was excellent. The second job was to install a railing on the front stoop and steps and the third job was to repair the garage door which was frozen shut. Mr.

Tyner and his crew did the 2nd and 3rd job and I was very satisfied after the job was completed. The next day after the 3rd job was completed the garage door was completed the door froze shut again and the railing on the front steps was so loose that I almost fell.

Bad or non-existent leads. Told them I didn't want Mhelpdesk but they charged me for it after the month. Stopped them from processing CC after I told salesman to end my account and stop sending bad referrals. After a day salesman returns text and received more leads I had to pay for, but says I have to call in to office to terminate.

Waited on hold for an hour.

Finally got them to cancel service but they were still charging me.

Also called and worked out a deal that I would leave any charges prior to Feb 27 2018 and let them keep my yearly fee if we called it even. They agreed and next thing they send a letter that I owe them then they put it in collections and then wanted to work out a new deal without a guarantee that it would be removed from collections.

Last Spring (April 2017) I went through HomeAdvisor to get a recommendation for laying of new sod at my home for front and side yard. HomeAdvisor recommended 2 companies and I picked Affordable Landscaping, LLC, Lexington, KY- owned by Terry Hurt. Phone # (859) 402-4044.

I had this sod laid mid April and had to have Mr. Hurt come back several times to redo many pieces of dying sod. For the initial installation Mr. Hurt brought out about 5-6 guys who acted as if they had never laid sod before and they came to lay the sod late in the afternoon so they were still laying sod at 7 pm in April and it was pretty much dark.

HomeAdvisor put in a shower. They failed to give me the sku and style numbers of bathroom tiles. The doorway was widened to 32 inches, but frame was left swinging in the air with no support. Because there is a one inch gap between wall and frame.

Tile was installed in shower with a chip in it. Support does not respond to email or calls, has not repaired wall that was damaged installing new door. Contractor is a jerk, he also tried to get away with huge overcharges.
