Needed to change our verification email from a verizon.net domain to a comcast.com domain. verizon no longer exists. I have been attempting to get this change / account reclaimaction for 21 days now. Non-profit organization.

I understand the need to prove who we are, we have provided images of driver's license, vendor bills, tax returns, tax exempt certificates, screenshots of paypal account with payments to hostgator showing. - in all 10 different pieces of proof that we are the legitimate owners of the account. I have been struggling with tech support in: 1. claiming to always escalate my issue, but no change in status. 2. no ability to speak to supervisor / administrator despite multiple requests 3. no return email / status updates just requests for more proof of who we are.

Stay away from this company! They sell your information whenever you sign up for a new domain. You will get like 20 calls a day when setting up a new domain with them.

When trying to cancel, they hold your domain locked from their backend until you call or contact support to release it every time.

They just doubled their hosting and it takes so long to load that I forget what I was trying to do by the time their cpanel does anything.

When I call into support it is a minimum of 20 minutes to spend and more if you're lucky enough to get a sales rep that wants to help. Otherwise you get to deal with their phone games until you decide to call back another day.

I used a HostGator shared server for several years without major issues, apart from bounced emails to large companies. To solve this issue, I 'upgraded' to a virtual private server. During the migration, various issues resulted in loss of email service, and ultimately to the loss of my website.

A site that had 400 pages of high quality content has been replaced with a single page that says "Under Maintenance". HostGator support has made up various stories as to why this has happened. Their support can barely write comprehensible English which compounds the problem.

I recently went back to HostGator after about a year's absence. They will be handling my email only. I was very surprised to find that all their technical support services, along with much of their sales services, are being supplied by third-party contractors working out of the Philippines. These subcontractors are hired chiefly on the basis of their ability to speak English rather than on their technical knowledge and skills. And since technical skill is not prioritized, these subcontractors can only handle minor, routine issues, and frequently provide inaccurate information.

I've been a Hostgator client for over 1 decade. This new cadre of support representatives they've hired over the past year or two have done from bad to worse. Many thoroughly lack the knowledge and enthusiasm of previous support representatives.

When they don't know the answers or don't want to help, they'll put you on hold indefinitely or mute the call and not return. When they provide poor service, they manipulate the phone system by not hanging up after the call ends so you're not prompted for the 4 question survey. Madness.

Hostgator customer service has turned to complete trash. This is the worst experience I have consistently had to deal with from ANY COMPANY EVER! 00 It was the worst experience I have ever received. An entire month passed while I received misinformation from on agent after another.

My website was shut down for non-payment AFTER Hostgator had received two different payments. One for the snappy 2000, the other for the shared hosting. My website comes up as an unsecured website warning. I have complained several time but the problem persist.

On top of that, my due date is on the 20th of the month. Yet an attempt was made to withdraw payment from my account 10 days earlier without notice. I have requested many times to speak with a supervisor and got nothing but a runaround.

in 2020 i signed up for hosting. paid about $264 for 3 years. 99 per month. ($120 or so per year). They Never ever disclosed that renewal on monthly basis will not be offered. not even yearly. i am hit with a 36 months renewal at almost $540.

Whereas i have normally found Hostgator support to be exceptional the appauling service of the last week will quickly lead me to filing a complaint to the industry body if it is not now quickly resolved. Hostgator migrated me from the shared hosting plan to cloud hosting on Thursday last week.

I bought a business-shared hosting plan in March 2022 and somehow I was on a server that didn't support php8 yet because it had an old OS. I contacted tech support multiple times and all they did was ask me to wait until "the admin team fixes the issue, " which would take a couple of months.

I bought a domain last January 4th and wanted to install wordpress. Turns out nothing is working. The domain (coisasdeit.com) is not completely created and I can't create any wordpress site. Hostgator entice you with a cheap hosting package and after being with them for just over one month, i started having issues with 3 of my websites hosted by them. 99 monthly per site. I believe they themselves have caused this error because another website hosted by a different company has been unaffected and continues to function fine.

Don't be enticed by cheap offers, they will mess up your website and try to sell you other stuff.

I've been trying to resolve an issue of mine since last week. I've had two tickets submitted since then and have not gotten any of my issues resolved. I've spoken to over five people trying to get my issue resolved.

I've called numerous time and have waited for many hours over this time and customer support has continuously spun my wheels saying that it will only take a few hours. Its been days and my issue is still standing. only once someone reached out regarding my ticket and then no response afterwards.

This company is the worst I have never dealt with so much BS in my life, you speak to one rep no one makes any notation so they are all contradicting each other and looking stupid with lack of training, I am so confused you would speak to one rep he or she would feed you a load of BS makes no notation in the system so

Been a Host Gator client/customer/someone-to-crap-on since 2008. I am only somewhat satisfied with the service. Their Support Department, SUCKS most of the time. Rarely have I found someone who actually knew what were they were doing and cared, both at the same time.

This past week we were informed by a large Canadian Insurance Company they had sent more than a half dozen email messages to us at two different accounts,. We received none of them! For years I have been going in circles with this company. I have been trying to gain access to my account but do not have a pin that was supposedly issued to me in order to access my account. I have looked back on all of my records and cannot locate such a pin.

The company keeps sending me to different people, each with varying degrees of competency and some tell me they cannot help me while others tell me that I am good to go and only need to email the main customer service reps and to contact me using my main email address on the account so that they can issue me a new pin number (the one they have on file is not my correct email address). I tried to move my hosting to Ionos and so far it has taken over 3 weeks. At first there were no database backup files in SQL format, now there is no website backup. 2 weeks ago my website was working no problem, now it's disappeared as new host has confirmed transfer BUT you transferred but deleted my website.

There are no themes, even files upload from your backup wizard are not complete and are not WordPress. It is extraordinary that now you want extra money to create a back up from your server. I am losing money as my website has been deleted, how is it acceptable you lose files and now expect extra payments.

There's no question that you did not transfer, upload complete files, there's no question someone has made a mistake. I need my website back as a matter or urgency

I just went to look at the Constant Contact module and without my knowledge I began being charged $20 / month for the service. Oh wow I am so done with HostGator. This company makes it impossible to cancel an account online. They sent me invoicing about a past due bill, so I replied to the email to say I wanted to cancel. Guess what?

I'm trying to contact HostGator to close my account which appears impossible. No mail address appears on their website support contact page despite including it in the statement of how to contact them at the top of the page. The create ticket button actually disappears on the support page a second or two after opening (try it).

If you are quick enough to catch it, it will not load. This is really bad service from a company that claims to have millions of customers. It sure is easy to sign up for web hosting, but they make it impossible to cancel when you are done.

The billing system needs a complete overhaul!

HostGator customer service staff is incompetent. What is so hard about Control + A? I have had the hardest time getting another password. I don't know the number of hours I have spent trying to get another one since May.

These parasites conspired to give me poor service a month ago. The phone line is always busy from 9 to 5, so I called at six in the morning. All these people had to do is Copy/Paste my cpanel. I lost my cpanel in June when I deleted my browser log oblivious of the aftermath.

It's been over a month since I last saw my cpanel, however, I can still locate my site. All I get is setbacks from various companies. I don't know what those staffs problems are.

I deleted my browser unaware it would affect the accessibility of my cpanel. All those workers do is give me password links that don't work.. I copy/paste the password off of my "welcome" link, but it doesn't work either. I don't understand it.

I have never had this much trouble with one site. I have been trying to resolve this for a month with no prevail. I have had the hardest time making my blog a reality, but these people, of various site, feel exempt from working.

I even copy/pasted on the Hostgator customer service Facebook page the Control Keys. My blog is hosted with HostGator but now I am moving it.

HostGator has steadily gone down hill in the last year. I used to go there every week between to get support via live chat, over the last six months there has been several occasions when I go online no one is there.

The lights are on but no one is there to take your request. I quit going there because of this for a couple of weeks but then this morning I thought I would give it a shot and no one was there and I knew they had people in there because they were active on Twitter and Facebook.

Well needless to say this will be my last website hosted there and will be switching to GoDaddy instead.

I love HostGator for websites and pretty much anything else, but one thing bothers me above all else. They make it so easy for you to sign up but darn near impossible for you to cancel! All over the website there are buttons to signup and convert but then when you want to cancel you have to jump through hoops and find someone on live chat just to get out of your plan.

I would love to recommend HostGator today, but I cannot.
