PEN FED IS THE WORST!!!! I have tried for over two weeks to close out my CD. I have made numerous phone calls with only excuses & blatant lies as to why MY MONEY has not been transferred into my Credit Union.
I was told to call back yesterday & that the money would be transferred. 00. Now need to use snail mail for more time wasted. DO NOT OPEN A CD WITH THEM, YOU WILL BE SORRY.
I recieved a pre approval letter from PenFed asking me to join and I meet all the criteria needed for approval. But when I submitted my information as they requested me to do I was denied and now it shows up on my credit report.
How can a company be considered reputable when they pursue customers saying they have verified that that person is in good standing and qualifies for an account just to turn around and say no you now don't qualify and by the way were going to affect your credit rating in the process and not even apologize

Getting money out of my penfed premium savings has obstacles! Because it was in excess of $20,000 I needed a managers approval which wasn’t forthcoming! They’ve slowed down the process unless I pay a fee! They didn’t even have the courtesy to inform me as I awaited the transaction!
Customer service people have their hands tied to help! Won’t be doing business with them in future!
Please remove your ads from my tablet. Otherwise I’ll be calling your company to file the complaint by speaking with your supervisor
Worthless and pathetic customer service when you have a complaint because somebody or their system continues to screwup money market cert dividends from being electronically sent to an external bank account when set up on their site instead it or sombody at Pennfed keeps changing it to send check as to residence instead of following thru by sending the dividends electronically to external bank accounts,even 30days when the 1st complaint was made and still nothing was done to FIX the problem,and no knowledge on how to FIX issues or timely manner to talk to a Manager or supervisor they just try to pass the buck by putting you on hold which could be another 20 minutes of hurry up and wait.
Do not recommend unless you want to wait 7 days just to access your money after depositing. Will not use again, will go with a local Credit Union where you have better customer service and they will release your money the same day.

penfed is negligent in maintaining their online system as accessed by computer. after not being able to log in to my account using the password i know i assigned to my account, i reset the password. in fact i reset it four times, and still could not log in from a computer. on chat, by phone with three individual representatives allegedly from the technical support group, and by email, all they do is sent a script on how to reset my password. obviously that isn't the solution and i don't need instructions on how to do that since i've done it several times already.

My PenFed on-line account was working fine early this morning, when suddenly it just cut me off with errors. I was just logining end again one last time to verify if my balances, and the system just cut me off.
There is of course no way to call customer service until openning hours tomorrow morning, so probably might as well go to the local PenFed branch office and ask to see the bank manager, which will of course take an hour waiting to be seen. Always is ... that in itself should tell you something. df

To whom it may concern, I have sent documents proving who I am and where I live. You also have the statement with the last 4 numbers of my credit card ending in 9123. There are charges on that statement that I did not make or give permission for anyone else to make. My profile was changed to make it possible for these thief’s to use this card number. My last payment to PenFed cleared on July 6, 2022. It was in the amount of $488.48.

PenFed is Bullshit! Holding my funds on a closed account for 6 months
Requested my CD be closed over 10 days ago and it has not happened after numerous calls and chats. Hold times are horrible we, I need my money.
I have a checking account and 2 savings accounts with Penfed. I also have 2 credit card thru them that I use regularly. One of my credit cards was compromised a few weeks ago and I was informed of the breech by telephone only.
I agreed to cancel that one and received a new one in a timely manner. On June 22 I received another phone call from them saying my new card had an attempted breech. I was concerned for it to happen again so soon.
He told me since it happened again so close I could continue to use my card and PFCU would close my access to my account on line for 72 hours for them to change the "line of accounting" on my credit card so that it couldn't be breeched again. Therefore I didn't attempt to sign on again until Friday the 25th and it was locked.

I have applied for a personal loan of $5000. I was denied. I have paid off one personal from PenFed. My credit card usage is excellent. I was told that I had made 9 phone calls to your customer service. My credit card had fraudulent activity and I received a new card. Within a short time, my new credit card had fraudulent activity and I received a new card again. I was cleared of all charges on both cards.
I overpaid my credit card and asked for a refund check. Customer service placed it in my savings account. I called again to have the funds sent to me.

I have been a member of PFCU for 49 years. I had always considered them to be an outstanding bank for the longest time. In the last 3-4 years I have been experiencing problems with getting help, working with people that listen and understand my complaint.
Recently, (last week) I registered an issue dealing with my credit card. I felt that I was not getting the appropriate 2% return on my purchases. I was promised a phone call with an answer. My father passed away and he was joint on a small PENFED account with my mother. I ended up taking my mother to live with me. Since around May of 2021, I have been trying to get PENFED to accept my Power of Attorney (POA) like all the other banks and Government entities did.
I have not been able to even change the mailing address on the account. I have filled out a plethora of paperwork, got it notarized, mailed it, faxed it and emailed it and STILL no change to my mothers account. This is utterly ridiculous.

Logged into my account today to find it Frozen did to my son's account being scammed. Now when I went to the bank last summer to open this account because he was heading to college the next years I explained our needs in being able to deposit money for books and
such and the rep opened the account and attached it too mine explaining that there would be no fees to transfer money between them, at no time did she explain to my son or self that's I would be responsible if something happened to his account. Fast forward to today my account has been frozen with no way for me to pay my bills.

I’ve been fighting with pendfed since April of 2021 someone put a loan in my name and they have done nothing about it. I call so many times each month. They said they escalated it and nothing has still been done.
I have police reports and multiple affidavits phone records stating it was not me. Your rep MISSY AMERSON did not investigate my case at all she lied and said all the information matches up and it doesn’t i never got a call back about anything.
With the changeover to the new system I have not been able to get into my account since last week. I called last week and was told it would be corrected in 24 to 48 hours. It is still not working.

I took out a credit card many years ago thru the NRA and found it was serviced by a bank in Nebraska. The service was flawless.
Then my account was transferred to Penfed and it has been an extremely frustrating experience at times to simply make a payment by phone. About half the time, the automated system doesn’t work. Also, the recorded voice is practically unintelligible to anyone with hearing difficulties.
Is it to much to expect a recording that can be understood? You could at least correct THAT.
Absolutely the worst banking institution or credit union I have ever dealt with. Not only are their procedures slow, outdated, and not in keeping customer service in mind, but their customer service representatives are are rude, and the last one hung up on me.

If there was a "0" for satisfactory, I'd give PFCU a "0". I called today to retrieve my account number to reference a third party payment, the first lady was helpful in trying her best to get the info for me.
She then transferred me to another Dept where the rep Joanna Ford made no attempt to assist me. All I got is that they do not give account numbers out. And I was taken aback because this is the ONLY institution that a consumer cannot retrieve his/her account number from.

The worst customer service ever! Penfed bought out our bank. We took an afternoon off work to make sure our accounts were correct after being told that I the wife should have my own account separate from my husbands. Nope we have always had one account and we will continue.
Last week I was told I did not have an account, because rep failed to scroll to bottom. Today account frozen because my name does not have my home address even though I have checks from Penfed with my name on them and my home address.
I have to get embarrassed in line saying your card is declined because Penfed did not bother to call me to verify my address instead they put a hold or block on my card. I am sure someone in Penfed could assist me but I have not found that person yet.

I have been with Pentagon Federal Credit Union since more than 5 years now. I give them a 5 rating for the incredible job they are doing. 49%. We got great customer service from them and they processed the loan efficiently.
