Unable to get answers on getting my annuity cashed and transferred to another company. Called 5 times and they can’t get me to a supervisor or anyone in the accounting department to tell me the check# and tracking number that I requested over a week ago.

All I get is the call center with no answers. I keep asking for a supervisor phone number and no one will give one out. Amazing! I would never recommend River Source to anyone.

6/6 Faxed notarized release forms signed by my ex husband and letter requesting information on IDS Insurance Policy 0979-0011-0944-1-005 that was part of the divorce settlement . Policy was not to be cancelled or changed without my notification. I was told policy surrendered Sept17 2009 putting Mr. Graham in violation of our divorce decree and the insurance company also at fault for cancelling the policy without my notification.

3 weeks later no response to my request I called customer service again and spoke to Luke at Ameriprise who after 90min was able to track down forms. My letter went to Ameriprise, releases to Riversource. I was transferred to Riversource and spoke to Brett who verified that Bob Vindedahl sent me the information I requested and provided case # ACM3066361.

IDS Universal Life Insurance Policy # 0979-0011-0944-1-005 under ex husband name was not to be changed or cancelled. 6/6/23 Faxed Ameriprise signed release forms from John Edward Graham III for me to get information about the policy status. My letter went to Ameriprise and release forms sent to Riversource.

Called 2 weeks later spoke to someone who tracked down the paperwork. This took 90 minutes. I was told a letter would be mailed with the information requested. 6/30/23 still no letter. Called again and after 60 minutes I spoke to John from Riversource who claimed letter was sent on 6/8. I never received it.

He was resending it and said it could take 2 weeks to get it. 7/18/23 Still no letter. Cancellation of this policy is violation of my divorce . I need someone with authority to…

We have faithfully paid $292. a month to RiverSource for 25 years. We were just informed that our premiums were too low to cover the cost of our life insurance policy. They are now asking for over $3,000 up front and upped our payment to $1100 a month!

Clearly, they wait until the client gets older and then they get rid of them so they never have to pay the full amount of the policy. The insurance vehicle is a scam and the company has treated us very badly.
