Umpqua has great customer service in person, but I have found that as we transition to more reliance on technology that the company is more likely to nickel and dime their loyal customers. When we use the online portal for transactions and automatic deductions, it's extremely easy for companies to charge late fees without due regard for the customer.
I have made FULL credit card payments every single month that I have had an Umpqua credit card and never once have I paid late.
However, I get charged a late fee for being ONE day late in making a payment. There should be, at minimum, a grace period. Better yet, Umpqua should not be charging late fees to customers who they know are going make their payments.
