I AM JUST GETTING AROUND TO WRITING AARP ABOUT OUR, ANNE, MY WIFE AND MY, EXPERIENCE WITH A RECENT ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE ISSUE. SOMETIME IN MAY AND OR EARLY JUNE OF 2023 OUR 2004 HONDA ELEMENT RADIATOR FAILED AND EXPELLED HOT WATER ALL OVER THE FRONT WINDSHIELD OF THE CAR. ANNE WAS DRIVING AND ABLE TO PULL OVER TO A BUSINESS PARKING LOT AND OUT OF THE GENERAL TRAFFIC LANE.

Your Company is harassing me about the fact that I do not want membership in AARP. I DID have it and selected auto-renewal. But you stopped renewing me in 2022. SINCE i WAS NOT WELCOMED IN 2022, WHY SHOULD I JOIN IN 2023.

Got a customer rep. on the phone whom was extremely short and rude. I was simply trying to obtain an auto quote for insurance and all the rep. was interested in was telling me the highest quote without recommendation of other price quotes.

I had to dig and pull info. to obtain what I needed.

My wife’s seat was loss and shaky and scared her bad anxiety and type one diabetic. And also my top loght above my seat wouldn’t stay off every 10 minutes I had to press it or every 5 minutes. I would defiantly like new tickets if you want me to fly with you guys again.

Placed a call to customer service to receive the free luggage packing cubes. I was told by agent & she also asked her supervisor & both said we were not eligible for the gift because we renewed 6months ago. We paid 5 years in advance.

This is poor customer service and bad business to treat 17 year members who have never used the card and never received not even 1 free gift during the 17 years. We are extremely disappointed with this resolution and plan to cancel our membership after 2028.

I recently renewed my AARP roadside assistance membership for 2023 and discovered that I had not been charged for my 2022 membership. The customer service representative stated that my charge card had been denied and they neglected to inform me of this.

I was informed that I did not have service coverage for that period.

However, my renewal charge included a charge for 2022 and 2023. I call for an explanation and was told that I still owed for 2022 even though service was not available to me. Now, I have a been a loyal member since 1999 and at a complete lost to understand this.

Since customer service did not seem to care about my longevity with AARP, I was left with no choice but to reluctantly cancel my membership. If there is a reasonable way to restore my membership, I may consider…

I was taking the Driver Safety course as I had at least twice before - and it was clear from my record- which can be checked at any time - I was having technical difficulties throughout the course. This never seemed to be a problem until it was my horrible misfortune to experience Kelly S 's lack of helpfulness and understanding when I was at the LAST part of the course - ready to take the final quiz.

When I spoke to Kelly I was at the end of my driver safety course and was just about to take the final quiz, she did absolutely nothing to help, advising me to start from the beginning. Kelly refused to help, or ask for further assistance for me.

m. to 1-877-422-7718 for discount pharmacy card. A young man answer the phone and ask for my Id#. I gave it to him he said he couldn’t pull it up so what’s my name and birthdate. He didn’t say hold on or another word for about 1hr. & 7 minutes.

I wonder if you could help me. I would like to complain about Generali Global Assistance (4330 East-West Highway Suite 1000 Bethesda, MD 20814). I purchased trip insurance from them through InsureMyTrip (100 Commerce Dr., Warwick, RI 02886). I am asking simply that they apply my $466.77 trip insurance, which I paid them less than a year ago, toward my upcoming 2023 trip, as they agreed to do and for which they issued me a voucher. No mention was ever made of an expiration date, but they now claim that the voucher has expired. This is unacceptable.

I have a complete chronology and supporting documentation. I want Generali to apply the voucher amount to my upcoming March trip. Otherwise, they've stolen my $466.77.

AARP login setup is the WORST I have ever experienced. com, which is this email/password I am using daily,. com open even before doing the renewal, so obviously my password was working. BUT when I finished paying $63 and continued, suddenly the password did not work for AARP.

I do not have another password so I clicked the "Forgot your password" option, and THE NIGHTMARE STARTED. Was trying to obtain pending auth for inpatient admission and was ask by automated system if I wanted to provide feedback after call to which I said yes. So then a woman comes comes on the phone who reports her name is LynnD and the background noise was so bad I could barely hear her and also she did not speak good English so I have to repeat multiple times NPI numbers, DOB, etc.

She could not understand that I needed a pending auth for a admission from the ER to send in clinicals.

I completed an application for a United Healthcare Supplement Plan G on 7/27/2022. I was losing my employee health insurance benefits on 8/31/2022. My application was accepted and I was issued a Membership ID 307813207-11 Effective 9/1/22. I went to my doctor for a routine checkup on 9/26/22 and blood work on 9/16/22.

I was told that I did not have proper insurance at my doctors visit. The blood work was not questioned. 78 for the blood work. In checking why I was billed it was explained by Medicare that Part B was never arraigned for by anyone.

They also said the application should have been denied. When I contacted United Healthcare they apologized and terminated the policy . I then called Medicare 3T17DN5AF54 to sign up for Part B…

I am John N Noto's POA and he was recently signed up by an agent in Walmart Neighborhood Market in Mooresville NC named Patricia (no last name given) 704-253-4556. He was shopping alone that day.

Mr. Noto was approached by this agent because he was picking up OTC items and she told him he could get a plan where he doesn't have to pay for those items. Apparently she convinced him to sign up for United Healthcare Medicare Advantage and drop his CIgna policy. Mr Noto has mild dementia and did not know he signed up for anything. I am 80 years old and an AARP member. Doing business with LPT Medical was a horrible experience. Their Tech Support was essentially useless. Their Customer Service was rude and belligerent, and their billing practices are shameful. I ordered a portable oxygen concentrator from LPT Medical for my wife.

She had lung cancer, parts of her lung were removed, and she has COPD. A lightweight portable machine makes traveling easier, but most importantly she needs it when she sleeps. The sales rep, Mikey, said if we had any questions or needed anything to just call him.

The first night my wife used the machine, the alarm came on several times indicating a problem with the tubing. Sometimes the alarm quickly went off by itself; other times as soon as I touched the machine the alarm shut off.

As an aarp member for over 10 years ( membership 0868846619) and healthy. I recently called aarp because I noted I can get free membership to my local ymca to start an exercise class. Upon calling, I was told I do not qualify because I do not have health nor supplemental coverage via aarp.

Isn’t this a form of discrimination? Discriminate against seniors that are healthy and wanted to continue health practice thru exercise? My husband was a federal employee thus there is no need for us to get supplemental coverage and this is the first time I am trying to access aarp benefits.

We have been insured with Hartford through AARP for the last 15 years. We have auto, homeowners and an umbrella policy. When our son purchased one of our cars when moving out we had to look for an individual auto policy for him (which by the way saved him $600 a year).

In the process of finding him a policy we received outside quotes on our existing policies through AARP. We came to learn that we could get the same coverage for our autos, home and umbrella for 50% less with other A+ rated insurers, and in fact one providers laughed when he heard with we were paying for homeowners insurance..

You cannot get through to anyone in a quiet background who speaks English clearly. I have a vocal disorder. I explain that over and over. I am straining my voice. l When I ask to peak with a supervisor I am told, they will call me back when they can schedule a call.

Had an issue with my vehicle on I90 30mi. east of Seattle Wa at Exit 38. It took AARP Roadside Assistance 4hrs. to get a towing company in touch with me. They towed my vehicle to a dealership in North Bend Wa. They payment to the tow company would not "go through" and I was forced to pay the tow, $258, or the tow was going to impound my truck at aditional charges!!!!!

When I joined AARP I found out about The Hartford Insurance Company . Since AARP endorsed them I decided to use them. Big mistake. On August 6th my truck was stolen. I reported it to the police and to The Hartford.

I was heart broken because it was an older truck I had taken very good care of. I had originally only carried collision insurance but decided last winter if anything happened to my truck driving on ice and snow I would have nothing. (I have Drs. appointments every 3 months).

I changed to full coverage no deductible so I would at least have something to start over if my truck was ever beyond repair. When my truck was stolen I found out The Hartford does appraisals (my truck had been recovered) virtually.

Your association with United Health care is VERY disappointing!! They have denied a medical procedure that would help me with a problem I have been dealing with. They come up with reasons like it would not help, it is experimental, etc.

If a doctor did not think it would benefit the patient, who are they to say different? This procedure has been done with good results. We have appealed their decision and they keep denying it. Needless to say I am still dealing with the problem which is getting worse.

You have been around for a long time and always said you want to help older people which is a good thing. Unfortunately United Healthcare does not care about the customers they are SUPPOSED TO BE HELPING. That is the reason for my complaint/dissatisfaction.

I have some real issues with AARP. All this gee whiz insurance is garbage at best criminal at worst . My biggest heart burn is AARP and MetLife partnership. My mother paid for long term health care for 20 plus years it was promoted by AARP and covered by MetLife.

MetLife does not approve anything. I was authorized to pay the Bill's and ask questions until my mom needed the insurance. Then they could not give me any info . The day before my mother passed away the hospice people were able to get MetLife on the phone and they denied coverage.

My mother passed away the following day . I was my mothers only caregiver and her guardian she had alzheimers. I was all there was 24/7 for the last 3 years . I am a disabled veteran myself and could of used some help .

Aspen Dental in Clermont Florida engages in deceitful practices to get elderly patients to pay for their no-cost denture repair service. My wife’s dentures broke in half. Making the appointment, they said they had to do a checkup and Xray.

At check-in the charge was $100. After they fixed the denture, they said we could go. We asked about the Xray and checkup. They knew nothing about that. We asked what the $100 was for. One person said it was for making the appointment.

” Both those explanations are ridiculous. No medical facility has ever charged just for making an appointment. I’ve been a member about 20 yrs. seldom I use my benefits cause I have reliable vehicles. But this first time this year 2022 6/27 the need of my service was terrible. Needless to say I had to speak on chat line and asked the same questions over and over.

I canceled my membership on 04/19/22 and was told I would receive my refund of dues in 3 weeks. Well I 've been told 2 more times that it will be 3 more weeks before I receive my refund!!! I was told 05/10/22 or 05/19/22 that it would be another 3 weeks before I receive my refund!!

For several months AARP Long Term Care staff have given me erroneous information about my MetLife AARP Long Term Plan. I was told (1) I could not reduce benefits and (2) take the optional inflation offer in the same calendar year.

A supervisor Jocelyn Rosato escalated this Case for me and called to tell me that (1) I could take the optional inflation increase and reduce benefits in the same calendar year. She gave me the exact premium amount (June 7, 2022) I asked for a confirmation in writing and never received it.

I was very disappointed to find AARP promoting a Medicare Supplement program that is overpriced to begin with, so the only way to make the plan’s cost competitive is to initially offer a huge discount. The problem is that discount gradually goes away, meaning that at age 86 - when senior bank accounts are historically at their lowest - the plan will be back to its exorbitant original cost.

Other companies start at a reasonable rate and generally have a small or no increase from year to year. AARP is supposed to be advocating for seniors. Promoting the United Healthcare Medicare Supplement program fails at this mission. I asked enough questions of the saleswoman so as not to be taken by this pricing gimmick.

I feel for the members who don’t. AARP should be ashamed.

On an informational call to AARP on 2/15/22, I was told by Joshua that there is a discrepancy in my “tier rating” and needed to talk to AARP Underwriting, who stated I was at Tier Level 1 (no problem) and referred me back to Member Services to deal with discrepancy (of Member Services stating that I was on Level 2). AARP keeps on sending me ads to join. I have sent the envelopes and advertisements back several times stating that Im not even close to retirement. I called in June 2021 and told them the same thing. They assured me my address was blocked.

October 2021, I received another advertisement asking about joining. I spoke to Adrian, who I told I would go to the better business bureau if it didnt stop. He was rude, condescending and sarcastic.

AARP Medicare Supplement Plan changed policy in the middle of the year. Suddenly in a city of over 2 million people, policy participants are allowed hospital services at only one hospital. None of my 5 physicians were connected to that hospital system.

AARP needs to seriously change the harsh, insensitive and horrible attitudes of its employees working in Membership. On Wednesday, July28, 2021, I called to request an electronic replacement card and was met with hostile, scathing and disrespectful behavior from its employees, specifically, from Renato in Oklahoma, Len and Jeremy.

My wife and I are AARP members or ID is 337 664 338 7. We recently requested a Homeowners ARRP Hartford quote, please see the following timeline:

1. Called Hartford on 6/10/21 to request. quote, I was told based on where In live in South Carolina that I only could receive a quote by filling our forms which would be mailed to me.

2. On 6/29/21 I received the forms and a Letter which was date 6/12/21

3. I Mailed back the forms on 6/28/21

4. I called Hartford on 7/14/21 to request the status on the quote, I was informed that they can not determine if the have received the forms. And it could take 30 day form the date they receive the forms to send out a quote.

The questions the forms could have been asked and answered over the phone.

Verty poor customer service with a rep that was rude and nasty on June 22nd. I had not realized i missed my May payment i was upset with myself and asking questions my wife was in the backgound as she worked for Met Life.

This rep was so rude telling me i needed to pay May and June's and July's premiun which is ridiculous. My blood pressure was off the charts she asked that the person in the backgound to be quite She put me on hold so many times and i felt she did not know what she was doing.

This was last night about 7:30 or 8:00. I got disconnected and called back and a new rep told me i only needed to pay forMay and June which i did. She needs to be terminated. Arthur Mcgriff Bronx New York

I was not notified within the time limit of the change in coverage for my pain medication. In January they sent a message that my original script would not be covered as in the past but an alternative was available.

After trying the new medication for 2 months and having a constant allergic reaction I asked my physician to apply for an exception. It was approved and after spending 3 hours on the phone a price of $198 was quoted.

Keep in mind the alternative medication, Xtampza, was $42. 85 not the $198 quoted. After spending another 2 hours on the phone to try to find out what the discrepancy was I was told the cost should be 33% of the price of $676.

The customer advocate was supposed to get back to me but never did. When I called today I was told the cost would be 40% for a tier 4…

My complaint is that AARP constantly sends me RENEWAL notices. I actually though my membership had expired so I renewed my membership for another five years only to discover later that my membership had not expired and was good for another 2 years.

Sneaky move for seniors to figure out. When I called customer service, James was very very nice and professional. I did feel he could have been more helpful with offering the Life-time membership sense I had two paid for memberships.

He stated he couldn't help me with a life-time membership. Interesting. AARP should stop sending out renewal notices to members whose membership does not need renewing. James did say he would make note in my account to stop sending as many notices, which would take 4-6 weeks. Really. Odd.
