On 12/23/2023 I visited Academy Store #222 in Denham Springs La. When I arrived, there were no shopping carts available. I needed the 40 Lb. bag of charcoal so I decided to carry the Charcoal from the rear of the store to the registers in the front of the store ( note I am 80 years old).

After waiting in line for 10 minutes at the checkout the cashier checked me out, I complained about not having any shopping carts he appear unconcerned. Upon completion of checking me out, I told him I wanted to pay with cash, he informed me I could only pay with a credit card at this register.

When the manager arrived I told him my complaint's, he immediately started raving about how crowed the store was. I told it wasn't my fault he wasn't prepared for the Christmas crowd, he immediately told me to…

I went shopping to my local hickory nc academy sports store and I was harassed by three of your employees throughout the clothing department with staring at my partner and I and whispering back and forth. The whole time we were grabbing the 50% off hoodies more than one color to be exact.

The girls were walking passed my buggy and looking in. As we still walked through the clothing department they were passing and staring. As my partner went to try on a jogger the young African American female was in there opening the door for her and eyed her up and down and made sure to look in fitting room throughly.

I was at academy sports today 10/01/23 at around 2:05 pm. I was looking at a certain fire arm that I was intending to purchase. There were 3 salesman at the other end of the counter talking and laughing. I stood there for at least 5 to 7 minutes waiting to be helped.

I don’t know if your store is in the business of losing money. 00 lose went somewhere else to spend money. The store in question is at sooner rd and 15 th st in Midwest city Oklahoma.

I ordered a product with a deal price. There was no movement and the order was canceled when we entered the estimated delivery date.

And they just say; Sorry! Out of stock!

And, the product is listed again at a regular price! Also, still waiting refund!

when I got home I realized because it's a new bike it needed to be serviced due to the back wheel not being centered and was wobbling and i also needed the seat i bought to be changed. I called Academy sports and they told me a team comes in on Wednesday and Saturday so I could bring it in Tuesday August 15 a day earlier so they could get it done Wednesday.

I'm thinking about doing a full refund and go do business elsewhere because of the poor customer service. If they had gave me the information I needed ,knowingly it wasn't ganna be done Wednesday I would have gotten it done elsewhere.

My wife and I bought Academy Sports Outdoor Gourmet 4 burner griddle a few months back. This griddle has been cleaned and covered after every use, yet rust continues to get worse. I’ve sent in pics and a review previously and the response from customer service is that I must buy products to remove the rust and it all falls on me.

Academy will do nothing to address the issue. Why? I’ve sent in a review and they refused to publish. No names mentioned, no vulgar language, just an honest review of the product and the less than satisfactory customer service response I received.

I ordered a thermal camera off their web site. It gave me no options to purchase insurance or to have someone to sign for the package. Didn’t think anyone would mail you a package that had something worth over a $1,000 in it without requiring a signature. But they did.

And fed ex just left it on my front porch 30 ft from the road, in the middle of the day. And I can’t blame fed ex because they didn’t know what was in there or how much it was worth.

To no surprise to me with all the packages that get stolen everyday it wasn’t there when I got home. If they would have given me the option to have someone sign for it and I didn’t do it I wouldn’t be complaining.

But they didn’t care if I got it or not. And customer service has been rude and unhelpful. How are you going to put in your policy…

I was at the firearms counter along with a coulpe of customers waiting to be served. The employee finished helping one couple and as he replaced the firearm he told the other coulpe that he will be right there. The employee then helped the other couple by answering questions about their inquiries and as they walked off so did the employee, he walked all the way down to the other end of the counter, pulled out his cell phone and just ignored me.

Went for a return with a receipt was turned away and said that they could not do them after I had called them. Made sure they were open. Make sure they could take a return. Used all of my gas to get up to the store where I was turned away where I then called customer service customer service.

Then call the Dothan Alabama store. I total of four different times without an answer. Then I was told I would have to go in and talk to a floor manager. With that being said, I refuse because they are already acted like they did not want to do nothing.

They did not want to try anything and they did not have time for me. I then filed a complaint online. Where they gave me a 10% coupon for up to $20 if I'm willing to spend upwards of 200.

This does not subside for my gas that I spent to go up there…

47 dollars on june 16, 2923 at the Academy store in Bastrop, Texas. I can send info from my receipt if you request it. my bank also took that money from my checking account. 00 late fee of a bill i have already paid.

I called several numbers to solve this problem. what i was told was for me to write a letter explaining the problem. So actually I don't understand when I paid my bill on time and now Im suppose to solve the problem when the mistake was done by your company. I don't understand that.

Went shopping at academy in Ardmore Oklahoma. A woman walked up to my husband and said "now you know what those screamers do when you try to pull them off" he didn't know what she was talking about. He found me in store & told me what she said, She was accusing him of theft!!!!

How'd you walk up to a random person & say that!!! She's a heavy set blonde haired lady named Jamie(manager). When I asked her about incident she got defensive and said it was a mistaken description that was on radio.

She did not apologize for being in the wrong! Instead she started raising her voice & telling us to leave store!!!! She was working at the back counter with rifles/ammo. We went to front of store & spoke with a different manager & told her about incident.

I was treated like garbage. The time is 10:18 am on July 5 2023. I went to check out. Josh was the one at ther register and only one opened. Didn't greet me and was scanning our items. One barcode was not scanning so he scanned another item that was the same but bigger and higher in price.

I told him the other one was cheaper bc it is smaller he then blew out of his mouth like I was a pain in the a** bc I didn't want to get charged a higher price. Then he started the whole process of ringing us up again. This is absolutely unacceptable. this is your job.

You need to hire better employees!!!

Wife was told her academy card wasn't going to be accepted. The Account is in my name but her card has her name! Never had an issue before. Would not help her at all, would not look up the account.

We live over an hour and a half away. Offered to talk to them over the phone and I sent pictures of my ID to my wife while she was on the phone with me and talking to them. Manager said they couldn't look up my account to help her even with me on the phone.

Very rude and just blew us off. With the thousands and thousands we spend there being a coach of several teams and several sports they have made a big mistake!

I have a Academy cc the store is fine the problem is the bank called Comenity Bank you can never make a payment with them correctly their website does not work and you can not get them on the phone I will have to cancel Academy account because of the bank they use if you are thinking of getting this card don’t just use visa it will be a lot safer

14, on 3/21/23, I realized a couple weeks later l, when I put them on, to go for a run, that they were too big for my feet, even with socks on. Alas, I have misplaced the receipt! I purchased a firearm online for me and my husband to use for long distance shooting, and when we went to pick it up we mentioned that we were both going to use the gun. Then they wouldn’t sell it to me and said that my husband would have to buy it in his name which made no sense..

and I had already went through the process to buy it in my name on Affirm. They said since my husband said he was going to use it too I couldn’t buy it, so I don’t know why he could buy it??

On the morning of the 25th of November I went into the College Station, Texas location to purchase a firearm (Glock 19) because me and my wife watched John Wick 4 and wanted a Glock. I did the background check and was told it was in delay and could take up to 3 business days to complete.

I was a little upset but said ok and continued on with my day. Then that evening my wife looks at me and says she wants the same gun. So we went to that location to also get her the same gun.

The employee did the background check and about 15 minutes later said we were trying to get the weapon for me and not her. Sales people in the shoe department are not helpful I told him the adidas slip in’s didn’t have a price on the end cap display he said I do that so no one will bother me then when I asked him the price he kept say 2000 dollars I told him he wasn’t funny I am in a scooter I’m going through chemotherapy I didn’t have the patience for him!

Then there was only one register opened and it was the cashiers first day the chair my husband bought had the wrong price and workers kept walking by him as he said I’m in training will someone help me it took a woman behind us to yell and finally he got help!

I went to the store with my wife and kids to buy a pair of shoe recommended at work. A staff mentioned that academy give discount for the specific work place if you show your ID. The cashier refused to take a look at the ID and said we do not give discount and I don't need to look but went and spoke with another lady who she said was the manager.

I purchased a replacement basketball goal rim that was supposed to be universal size and fit any basketball goal. I got it home and it did not fit my goal. C. I was granted a refund without any hassle and I appreciate that.

48 I paid in cash. I was issued the cash refund immediately and when I asked the customer service representative how long I should expect to wait for the remaining $30 refund to be issued to my debit card and she told me that it was instant and I would have it within minutes.

The Academy store in Alexandria Louisiana is severely lacking in customer service at the checkout counters. They are rude, disinterested, on their phones. I can get past the second two, but the ladies working the checkout are simply the RUDEST- like I am interrupting their day in checking out.

And there is NEVER an Sense of urgency…I hate to complain but it is ridiculous. Johnnie- who works the podium at the front is very pleasant and helpful.

On February 13th, around 12:15pm EST at the Academy Sports on 8675 Concord Mills Blvd in Charlotte NC I experienced false advertising. This was my first time coming to this store to buy my 4-year-old son baseball equipment. 99 that was on sale.

I knew my son would really like it, so I got it. I had never been in the store before, so I saw a nice male worker and asked him where the cleats were for the 4-year-olds. As he was taking me to the aisle for the shoes, I came across another rack of bats that had sale stickers on them.

This complaint isn’t much about the company itself but an interaction I had with a cashier there. He offered a way for me to save more, I thought it would be a normal tell them your phone number and find your account.

Then he asked for my identification card which was weird at first, then questions about my social security and income made it more suspicious. He was luring me into putting any random number of my income, but the feeling felt off.

After telling him never mind I didn’t want to save money, I realized as I got to my car those are the typical questions one would ask for a credit card application. Unknowingly I opened some mail and found one that looked suspicious, and found out that he did in fact submit the application behind my back.

The great thing was I didn’t make the cut…

Academy Sports has truly let me down. I purchased a Hydroflask water bottle for my dad for Christmas. When he opened it on Christmas, we noticed it had been used, and had a rancid brown liquid in there. It smelled repulsive. We gave Academy the benefit of the doubt, and completed an exchange shortly thereafter. Unfortunately, we ended up getting a replacement that was dented (picture below).

Today my husband and I went to just return the second water bottle. There was a large area labeled “Customer Service.” We got in line behind the person ahead of us, and would have been next in line. A neighboring cashier asks us if we needed to make a return. We told her yes. She then informed us that to make a return we would need to wait in the entire line with those waiting…

I ordered something since the 7th and it said it would be ready by the 10th. It hasn’t even gotten to the store yet and it’s the 11th. Keep in mind I ordered it online because I saw that in the store it was out of stock.

Today I went to go look if they had the item in stock and they had multiple. I tried asking to see if I could buy the item that they had there and just cancel the item that I had ordered to the store, but they said the refund would come in 3 to 5 business days. Academy is horrible

My husband and I were in the Academy Sports store in Smyrna, Tennessee yesterday. We bought several items off of the clearance racks. These racks had a sign posted that said 30% off of the already reduced prices. When we got to the register, 2 of our items were not discounted. They said that the ticket on the item was the lowest price. The cash register associate brought the manager over who stated that he knew what the sign said but that was not what it meant. I believe that is considered false advertising since the other items that we bought had the same green sticker on them.

We have always been very pleased with Academy Sports and the merchandise that you sell but I have never been to a store that will not stand behind what their signs say that are posted in all departments throughout…

Purchased two bikes in October. One was $300 and the other was $339. The mongoose tervaine had to be taken i. To a bike shop for a wheel replacement due to another kid running into the bike while my son was on it.

While getting the repair done it was explained to me that none of the bike was assembled correctly and eve the handle bars were loose. So I had ro pay to get this fixed. I contacted academy sports in Melbourne where they were purchased and was told the bike was inspected when put together.

Unfortunately when we purchased the bikes the sales people couldn’t even put air in the tires for us. Now I am into this bike from purchasing and getting everything tightened for $439 and I was told to contact customer service

On January 19th, 2023, my father (Louis) went to Academy Sports looking to buy a gun safe. He found the one he was looking for and talked to an employee about the safe. He could not buy this safe yet due to me (his son) working at that time as he needed help to load and unload the safe.

He went home to wait for me to get off which I did at 7pm. At least 4 hours have gone by since he visited Academy Sports the first time, the second I was with him and we were prepared to buy the safe, however 20 minutes go by and

we are told that we can't buy it anymore due to them not having the keys to it. The reason this is unacceptable is they should know where the keys are for their safes, and if they don't have them, it should not be on the floor for people to look at and buy.

Today my mother and myself went into Academy to purchase firearms. My mother is 63 years old and has been a victim of a kick door robbery not once but twice in the same week! She lives in a small town called Wharton. These crimes usually don’t happen so we are taken back and fear for our lives. I was turned down and can’t buy firearm for 30 days because I have a vision problem and I am 74 years old. My wife helps me read questions and I can answer them but it is difficult for me to see small writing.

I opened an account in person at your store in Waco, TX last summer, but I never received an account card. I got on a joint Customer Service call with Pamela at Comenity Bank and your own customer service rep on September 9, 2022' to complain about being charged late fees.

Pamela agreed to remove the late fee charges of $30 after I told her to close my account immediately. 31. I gave her the information to complete that payment that way, but not until she assured me that the transaction of closing my account with you effective September 9, 2022 would be confirmed to me by her.

I was sent a text a day before that my order was ready. I went in the next morning at 7AM and was greeted by a man named Alex. He was the door guy, an excellent character. Another guy named Angel was terrible.

There was me and 2 other people in front of me. He didn't look at as greet us or act like he was going to help us.

Finally the lady in front told him something only to be looked at and blown off. This guy is terrible. I left at 8:40 Am only because this guy Alex the store greeter kept everything under control. He literally started taking order numbers and checking us out.

Your company needs to seriously consider who you hire for management and the potential like Alex that should be the manager. The academy employees not all of them mainly Angel are terrible customer service…

i had order two pairs of shoes for my son. One pair was to be delivered to my house, because the 2nd pair said it was in stock at my local academy. So i was to pickup same day or next.

Turns out, neither shoes were on stock, and i had to also wait for the 2nd pair to be shipped, but to my local store. Not only was it not true that it was on stock, but now it will take longer than the delivery to my house.

I went to the Academy Chat website and waited 15 minutes for a customer Service agent to tell me i can't cancel because it was being processed, then i asked for the Academy phone number to talk to a manager. Made an online order. After receiving a text stating my order was ready for pick up, I then drove 45 minutes to their location to find out they canceled my order due to being short some items after they withdrew the money from my account and

wanted me to buy the items they had. I then spoke to corporate about how horrible tye service was and they sent me a $15 code as a one time favor. I spent more in gas driving to store. I will never do business with this company again.

I'd rather pay more at Dick's or Bass Pro to get what I need.

Academy does not stand behind their H2O brand. Bought a tackle bag for $60 and after 6 months the main zipper broke. Tried to get it replaced and since they no longer sell this item, I was offered a $6 store credit.

You would think Academy would support their brand versus selling inferior products and just leaving the consumer stuck with broken products.

The customer service employees are so rude on the phone, they always transfer me to the wrong dept. And then they seem to get mad and the rude starts, I have seen this in Tulsa and Dallas stores, is that a normal thing for your employees to act like that?
