We stood in customer srrvice line for 15 minutes while clerk was on phone with a customer. She finally came to lady that had been waiting in line also and didn't say "thank you for your patience" or "sorry that call took so long" I suggested to her that she should tell the phone customer she will return the call when she is free. The other clerk (who had just come up there) said "She wasn't on the phone that long". I told her I didn't need her to accuse me of lying and to get the manager. He came from the back room and says, "Yeah we get alot of calls" and my husband suggested too that they should return the calls later...no apology, just defensive. I was fuming! With a manager like that, I now understand why the clerks are snotty and rude.

On November 25th, 2022 I purchased a firearm through Academy Sports to have it sent to store for pickup. Delivery date was November 30 or December 1st. The 22 caliber rifle was purchased for my stepson 14th birthday on the 3rd.

I could not give the child his birthday gift and now it's been 9 days and still no package. According to the tracking the label was not created until 5 days after the order. FedEx tracking says delivery on the 5th by end of day and the tracking number that Academy gave me and the FedEx tracking number are not even the same.

I will never purchase anything from Academy online or in store. And, I will make it my mission to post this bad review and ruining a child's birthday every chance I get. NOTICE THE DATES ON EACH PHOTO.

The Decatur Alabama store was extremely rude in the gun section. My address had changed due to moving and I had ordered a rifle online. My drivers license had my old address on it. I completely understand that you have to have your correct address on a government document such as a drivers license to purchase a firearm .

I went in to ask what I would need to do as far as documentation to be able to pick up my purchase. The two guys working the firearms counter ( on 11/28 at approximately 5:45 pm ) without making eye contact , would rudely say we can’t sell you a firearm without the correct address.

I COMPLETELY UNDERSTAND THAT !! I wanted to know what was excepted as proof of address. I asked to speak to a store manager. She was absolutely no help either. I just canceled my order.

Your customer service person at the Lafayette, LA store on Ambassador Caffery is very very rude. Her name is Kayla. I walked in with a return and was unsure of the procedure as I never returned before. I politely asked her where I had to go, and without looking up she told me to get a sticker put on and get in line.

After I got what I needed, I proceeded to a register to complete the return. I had 4 of the same shirts that I was exchanging for a smaller size. Something was not scanning correctly because it was a Black Friday special so the young lady checking me out went get her.

She was trying to tell me I needed to pay the difference because it was a Black Friday special and it was no longer Black Friday. All I was doing was an even exchange. When I asked for a manager she walked away…

I went to return some soccer cleats. I was told by sales rep when I bought them that I had 60 days to return. We weren’t sure of the size since Academy doesn’t let you try on shoes with soccer socks at the store (which are thicker) and was told we could return them if they were too tight.

Today (under the 60 days) we were told that we couldn’t return them since the shoes were “unsellable”. My 9 year old daughter had only worn them once. The cashier was rude and threw the box at us. I told him I wanted to speak with a manager and he claimed he was the manager (which is odd since he was also the cashier).

I told him that it was unprofessional to treat us like this. I was with two young girls and that wasn’t a way to treat customers. He finally accepted the shoes and let us do a exchange.…

I live in Hiram GA and I purchased a Taurus G3x 9mm handgun from them today. The sales associate pulled it out of the safe and told me it was New. Upon further inspection this evening, it had indeed been USED.

I have purchased many firearms from this store. I will be filing a complaint with the BBB! I paid a NEW price for a USED handgun!! I'm VERY dissatisfied and disappointed that this store would do this. I will also be speaking with the Manager of the Hiram GA location as well as the Regional Manager ASAP!

I understand the no refund policy for firearms (I used to sell them myself) however you cannot sale a USED gun as NEW. I will also be speaking with my attorney about this.

I will never visit your store again in Montgomery Alabama!!! The return policy wasn’t posted anywhere on the ammo shelves so when I tried to return two boxes of shells for a swap or refund I was rudely told I couldn’t and basically told to bad!!!

Went to the Academy on Katy Fwy and asked employee Zayra cashier to please hold my stuff that had around $400 worth of stuff while I went to get something. I came back 10 minutes later and asked her if my stuff were still available she replied “no, restocked” and smile while she walked away.

I’ve never felt so angry and disrespected. To top it off I couldn’t find the things I wanted, only ended up with 2 things out of the 20 things I had.

They would not allow me to make a total even exchange on to Tshirts. From a size M to a size L and I was told no!! So what am I to do with 2 tshirts cost me well over $50 .

to Dicks spent my money and threw those academy shirts on the floor and grinded them into the side walk in front of the store! Gotta go I have so many more places to complain about a total even exchange!!

I spend thousands and thousands of dollars here. I even have their credit card. Today this store left a disgusting taste. Girl named Haley hesitated to give me her name at the end of us checking out & let me tell you why.

We go up to the next open register. From the start she rolls her eyes as we’re walking up to her register. She does not greet or say anything. The whole time as we’re putting our items on the table she looks miserable.

Bought a new Wilson putter from the Macon, Ga. store during the summer. Before the summer had come to an end, the putter face fell off. After completing my round of golf without a putter, I went immediately to the store to replace the defective club.

Unfortunately, I did not have the receipt for the purchase because no one expects the face of their putter to fall off. While trying to explain this to the store manager, his response to me was, how could he know that it was not stolen.

The company is rejecting its own technical glitch with its online order system. I updated my default shipping address to the new one a few years ago. After placing an order last week, I noticed the order was shipped to my old address rather than the default shipping address.

I tried to log back into the system and realize there is a technical glitch with the system- even I have set the new address as the default, the system will 100% use the non-default shipping when I try to place orders. This technical glitch only applies to Academy - none of other main ecommerce sites such as Walmart, Amazon will have the same issue.

RACIALLY PROFILED AT ACADEMY SPORTS!!!! My son and I came to your store to find some gear for his football equipment, unable to find this equipment i needed to go to the restroom. So went in Sunday to look for a youth football helmet, the Riddell Speedflex, which according to the website were available. Entered the store around 1100, and there was nothing on the shelf. So I inquired with the front end employee near the exit doors, and he said there are shipments on Sunday and Thursday. What?!?!

Bought a firearm online on a Thursday night. Received confirmation that it was ready for pick up on Friday. Stopped in on Friday to pick up the firearm and complete my paperwork for a background check. Indications from the sales person was I might have to wait 15-30 minsfor an approval; but I can continue to shop in the store while I wait.

After 45 mins, was told my purchase was being held up because my back ground check was delayed. In the meantime, I was asked to sign a no return policy, as Academy will not accept the firearm if defective, but, will be happy to send the firearm to the manufacturer for repairs.

I was trying to purchase a pair of Rayban sunglasses that were on sale. When the association scanned to glasses that I wanted they scanned $98 and on clearance. He told me to wait and went to customer service. Then they told me they were $121 that the sticker was not correct. When I asked if they were going to honor sticker price they told me no!! Every store I have shopped in has honored sticker price even if it was the store’s mistake!!

I am crippled and can't just come to store and walk to gun department see if gun due today came in. Called from 319pm to 830pm tried operator several times hunting several times and tried other departments justnto reach a human and never did and my friend tried calling to for 2 hours before said screw it but

pretty sad cant reach someone and when in store certain departments like guns just kids with no knowledge and could care less if help you or not. I never liked Dicks over ar15 ordeal but they just down road and maybe they answer their phones.

Was thrilled when Academy opened a store in my vicinity (Conyers, GA). I went to my new store looking for items shown in stock at my location. I was excited to enhance my fishing experience. I asked 2 sales associates and a customer service associate for assistance as the desired item was not on display.

All 3 said that if not on display, not in stock. None offered to look. I am a manager in a multi-store chain. I phoned store manager to inform him of lack of effort to assist me. I thought he might like to address the situation and tea in his staff for better service.

52 which I paid in full on 3-31-22 to bring my card paid in full. 00. I called and the first gentleman was obviously confused so I requested a supervisor. The representative transferred me to his "supervisor" who said that I have to pay the charge. 00.

I have shopped at Academy sports for everything for years. Everyone in my family does. From canopies, BBQ equipment, wagons, tents, football and track gear/equipment for all my kids, and other supplies. I always receive great service. Not tonight! I went to the location on Millenia Blvd in Orlando, Florida because I placed an order online today for 2 cots.

I checked in with Sean at the desk and provided my order number and ID. Sean called on the walkie for someone to bring my order up to the front. Cindy Y. brought it up and ask me 3 times if my ID was verified.

By the 3rd time I decided to ignore her and she said she wanted to make sure. I have done this enough times to know that they don't request that the order be brought up to the front unless verified.

I went to Academy Sports in Lubbock, Texas (the one that's located on19th St. and the West Loop) I had an exchange so I went to Customer Service. I thought Customer Service was for refunds and exchanges Only. The young lady working Customer Service was rude and she said that when they got busy the Customer Service was open to all customers.

I called FedEx like I told to by the escalade department, but FedEx said that you the shipper had to file the complaint, here is the tracking number and the order number and the incident number tracking 77083821055 , order 351983054, incident 220225-000064 , I know and understand that the tracking number shows that the package was left on the porch, but we did not get the item, there fore Academy Sports or FedEx owes me $144.44 you may just put the money back on our Academy Sports credit card. On February 18, 2022 at the 2710 N Maize Rd, Wichita, KS store, I went there with my my son to purchase a tennis racquet for him. I am an AA male and as soon as I entered the store a white male associate began following my son and I.

At first, I thought it was a coincidence that every time I was in a department we was in it too. I finally became annoyed and asked him to stop following my son and I around the store. I did complain to the manager on duty and he has my business card.

I regret not having my phone out to record the incident. I am medical provider in the community and own my own clinic. I am highly educated and financially sound. This is obvious racial profiling and I am disappointed that Academy hires employees who are not culturally aware.

I visited the Sherwood, AR Academy Sports location on 9/22/2022 shortly before closing. My boyfriend and I visited the store to purchase a few outfits for him. I left the house in a tank top and sandals, but found that the temperature had dropped significantly throughout the evening. We entered the store and I bee-lined it to the shoe department to find a cheap pair of close toed shoes to wear out for the evening. I found a pair of $17 clearance sneakers that fit. I put those shoes on and my other shoes in my bag. I carried the box towards the front of the store and stopped in front of the main mirror of the dressing room to check my outfit and make sure the shoes looked ok. I was excited when I seen you guys still had the PV a&m HBCU merch in stock. I took my time to find the perfect hoodie for MLK day, I did indeed. As I’m checking out I wanted to use my Christmas gift cards & the cashier never acknowledge me.

I swipe twice til she realize I have gift card. She charge & bag my hoodie super fast, as I was putting my card in my wallet, the cashier says ok thanks & have a good day. Before I can put my wallet up she threw my Bag on the ground.

I bought a shotgun on line and had it shipped to the Jackson TN store. I received a text that my weapon was at the Jackson TN store. I went to pick up my weapon and was asked if it was for me, I said it was and then added that I was giving it to my son for Christmas.

They asked how old he was and I said18. They told me that since it was for my son that he needed to come on and pick it up. I corrected myself, I have six kids and my 18 year old was on my mind.

The gun was for my 17 year old who will be 18 in February. I was told that since I had told two different stories that I could not have the gun that I had already paid for. I told them that they needed to credit it back to my account.

I ordered a gun for my son for Christmas online and went into the store to pick it up. The guy asked how my son was and I said 18 but he is only 17. I tried to correct it because I have 4 ages18,17,16,15.

Chat for customer service is a waste of time! And speaking to someone is a joke. They talk slang! And I don’t think the people answering the phone are in a real office, I think these people are at home.

I asked to be transferred to someone else and she hung up on me! They don’t send an email that your item is on back order, so you think you got gipped. I’m super frustrated!
