I purchased a gun from Academy yesterday on 11/14 /2021 . Without my knowledge or any discussion about it they gave me demo model . I don’t buy weapons regularly to have known that could be the case unless you are careful.

I didn’t not assume that my local store will take advantage of me this way . Magazine had a hairline crack in the bottom of the magazine I did not notice. I spoke to Store director Andrew Lovingood who was not any help whatsoever. Such a poor experience.

I could not exchange it for new gun which I paid full price for . I will express and share my experience with everyone I know trough all the media available to me . I hope this store closes soon so other people don’t fall to same experience.

I went in to Academy to purchase a a pair of shoes for my daughter fundraiser run, a pair of dance shoes and a fishing pole for my husband and to pick out his first fishing pole for 5th birth today. I had registered online and was offered 10% off when I showed the employee at the register she said that’s online only, I said can I order online and pick up?

She said if you want to and stops the transaction and said that it would save 13 dollars. I said I would like to because 13 is a lot of money. The manger, Jess said you will have to wait to pick up your order we have others in ahead of you.

Had to wait for someone to check on online order for 15 minutes then no would tell me what was going on with order . Waited for another 15 for the manager Brandon to come talk to me . i have been lied to when it came to a pool i purchased on 30 August 2021 and to be delivered by 15 Sep 2021,. When i called on 20 Sept to find out what is happening, I was told that i had to call EFW (dont know who that is and no inatructiona or emails or phone calls made to me to schedule a delivwry) so

I went into Academy to buy a scope 9/14/21 and the sales person told me I would get a 50 gift card if I bought a Vortex 3x9x50 scope. I had seen the ad on the internet site so I was happy.

I got mounting rings and went to the cashier who informed me that the sale must be over because he could not find it on his little sheet. I was disappointed but the thing that aggravated me was the rudeness of the cashier.

He acted as if I was trying to get over on Academy when the sales person told me when I was looking at the scope I would get a 50 gift card. The cashier needs some training on how not to aggravate a situation.

I was in your Mesquite, TX store on 8/23/21 at around 3pm wanting to buy running sneakers. I walked to the women's shoes and one of your agents started to follow me and stopped and just stared at me while I was trying to figure out which pair I wanted to buy.

Called about a kayak, waited vainly for deptartment to answer phone, disconnected twice, called 3rd time told that since I did not see kayak in store it was probably not there (though listed online as being there), this was the Willaim Cannon store in Austin. Next I tried to call the Brodie store about the same kayak (listed online) First call disconnected, 2nd call dialed O and told she could transfer me to the department.

I went to manhattan ks academy sports on Monday and found some pepper spray on clearance rack for approx $7. I grabbed 1 and went to check out. It rang up for $21. I told them i got it from clearance rack and they went and checked.

They came back and said someone stocked them in the wrong place and they refused to sell it at the price marked on the shelf. I believe that i should have received it at shelf price since it was not the only one there.

I returned the other item i bought on monday and do not plan on shopping at Academy again because I dont feel that the company states for the customer.

I live in Arlington, TX. I was wanting to come and purchase a firearm and clothing and wanted to make sure the store had it in stock. I called 14 times. I was disconnected every single time. While on hold for a manager I was disconnected.

While on hold for the hunting and fishing department I was disconnected. While on hold for the OPERATOR I was disconnected. I finally got Jason to come to the phone who informed me he was part of the management staff.

I went to purchase shoes for my husband. I found a pair marked as on sale. The cashier assured that the shoe was not on sale. I asked for a manager. The manager contacted the floor person and they were indeed on sale.

The manager rang up at a discounted price but still more than the listed sale price. Why was this? This is very poor customer service. I will not shop this store again unless I photograph the shelf price to assure the cashier can charge the correct amount.

Customer Service Complaint. I purchased an item today that was the display model because it was the last one. I requested a discount off the item because it had the finish scratched off in multiple places. The manager was called over by the associate and the managers response was "Are you serious".

I know it is hard to find good quality employees right now, but you wouldn't expect that from a manager. Anyways just wanted to share because it actually pissed me off a little after I left the store.

I go to my local Academy Sports in Louisville Kentucky on an almost weekly basis and make multiple purchases throughout the year.

When entering today I was carrying my helmet and work backpack with all my data sensitive supplies inside. The door greeter refused me entry unless I left my belongings at the door.

This is unacceptable behavior and you should not assume your customers are a security risk. I will not be returning to Academy and I will be closing my Credit Card with them this week.

I placed an online order (328554789) on Wednesday night.

Thursday morning, I stopped at the store to pick up my order and was told it wasn't ready. So I returned later that same day on my way to work. I sat outside at Curbside Pick up but no one came out. When the Curbside Employee stepped outside, he walked up to a different customer and I overheard him tell her she had to go inside the store.

As he walked away, I called out to him to ask him a question but he completely ignored me. So I too went inside the store, inspite of the fact that I was now running late for work. 00. Well according to your company policy you guys will price match. 00. He contacted his manager "Doug" on the radio and according to "Doug" y'all do not price match unless it's local. Well Ed's gun shop is about 2hrs from y'all's location.

Location was Georgetown, Texas. Went to get a fishing license . Got to the register and had a person that had no idea of what to do . I stated very simply that I wanted a Fresh Water, 1 year license . , not a year.

She called someone over, who didn't really listen.

Finally agreed for $29 that I could get a 1 year freshwater Texas license. Asked about either a Military of Senior discount, was told I would have to be 50% disabled. She then asked for some help. again, admitting she had no idea. ', we said no.

3 times in 2 days at 2 different locations (11077 NW Freeway & 19720 NW Freeway, Houston TX) I have attempted to purchase a fishing reel. Waited patiently. Got passed by and ignored by personnel behind the counter at both stores.

One employee even grabbed his sweater and proceeded out from behind the counter and left without even looking at me. Even if they are in the process of a gun sale, or any other transaction, they should acknowledge a customer standing at the counter with " I'll be with you shortly" instead of completely blowing them off.

Why is it that the most popular merchandise / things that sell very good aren't stocked in the stores? You guys make us order these thing so you can add the shipping cost instead of sell them for the same price as everything else. I went to the north east side location on Perrin Burrell and 410 today to exchange a broken fishing pole setup that I bought around 3 weeks ago, after I took it out for the first time I realized that the drag did not work at all on it. 00 worth of tackle as well.

When I got to the register I was told I could not make the exchange without an ID, of which I didn’t bring because I wasn’t buying anything I need my if for, I didn’t use an ID to buy the fishing pole! So not only did I purchase a broken fishing pole and not know it until I was in my kayak on the lake, but I went back to exchange it and was satisfied with an even cheaper one, I wasted my time AGAIN!

Acadamy store. When checking out the register ate my check. The cashier ran it through several times ,then called the manager,who went to the office and checked to see if the check went through. I did so,they ran that one through too.

I was told my check went through once. twice to come back for my refund. After finding out it went through twice, I drove the 60 miles back to the store and the manager refused to return my money! I was given a customer service number which I've called twice.

At Christmas this year, I received two shirts of the Magellan Fishing shirts. Only problem, on Fathers day last year I received the exact one, green long sleeve. So, this is a normal stocking item, not seasonal nor on closeout, so I go to the store in Prattville, Al.

Every time I go to the Cumming store, there is always a group of employees hanging out at the entrance. It would be one thing if they were greeting customers, but on 12/19 that was not the case. When ecommerce is so dominant now, you would think brick and mortar stores would be rolling out customer service to lure customers.

After this happening on many occasions at this store, I turned around and left. Went home and ordered from Amazon. I will not be returning to this Academy store as customer service is not a priority.

I purchased an item on the or about around the 27 December 2019, the item wasn’t any good, a set of children’s training wheels. They ( the wheels ) didn’t last an hour, they bent. Took them back without the receipt, was told since no receipt that I could exchange them for another set or take a marked down price, which was $2 and a few cents.

I refused , because I paid over $10 . I was told to take there offer or she would call the police and have me escorted out and band from the store. I went to the store in diberville ms to purchase a gun. 0 smith and wesson in a 9m. He said he had a few. I asked if he was able to price match he said yes. I had found a set up online that was in the store.

I asked again will he price match again the answer was yes. 00. This kit includes a gun knife and flash light. He then said no I cant price match that. 00 so I said if you cant match the price can you get close and he said know.

I asked why would I pay 100 more for a gun at this store. Bottom line its false advertisement to say you will price match and then not do it. I like academy and I have bought guns there but I will not buy anything else just out of principle.

Your Christmas commercial is really really really bad, you are telling our children that Santa bounces in the air and picked gifts from a store, not from the elves making them. That tells them that Santa isn't real you are killing there beliefs at a every young age. Shane on you and your advertising.

Everyone I've gone into academy in Tuscaloosa, Alabama I have got a vet discount. Went in the other day and the cashier said we don't give vet discounts. Only on the fourth of July. Hello the fourth of July. She was not very nice about it and I tried to explain that I'm a vet and had always got a vet discount.

What have you changed and Tuscaloosa Alabama stores needs to let there people know and not be a smart ass when a vet ask about a discounts. If it wasn't for us vets she wouldn't be free to have a job.

I was at the Hiram Ga store was waiting to talk to the handgun clerk. He never acknowledged me I Pulled a number still waited 10 minutes he was helping somebody else I was waiting patiently another lady came up she never acknowledged me now two people were helping the person in front of me I finally said I could use some help they looked at me and say oh what do you need I said I’m good I’ll spend my money elsewhere I walked off
