As a retired Air Force Veteran, I am submitting this formal complaint to request the cancellation of my home alarm system and seeking your assistance. I am hoping that you are the correct person to handle this complaint and resolve my issue.

I have been attempting to cancel this service since day 3 of installation as it has not been functioning properly. The system has been triggering random alarms and only delivering silent email alerts when they should be sounding audible. These unexpected alarms have exacerbated my PTSD symptoms.

Today is Nov. 21. On Nov. 18 I began to call ADT when the keypads showed "BAT" or low battery. I was told that day - briefly - that the batteries would BE MAILED TO ME FOR ME TO INSTALL IN 10 DAYS. REPEAT TEN DAYS.....

Since Nov. 18 I have attempted to reach ADT Customer Support via CHAT, by phoning, and by being placed on hold for 48 MINUTES. Finally, today, at 3:57 pm - after being on hold from 3:00 PM for FIFTY SEVEN MINUTES - I reached a support person named Ibrahim who was great. He told me he would get an ADT Tech to come out to change the batteries, that ADT would not charge me $59 per 30 minute increment for their oh so precious time. I can confirm that this is the WORST customer service experience I have ever received in my life. I’m really not sure where to start with ADT. I signed with them in January 2021 in my first home. Fast forward to December 2021, I sold my house and was told that if I moved ADT with me, left the equipment at the old house that this would cancel out my contract.

I brought ADT with my but had a lag in the install since I was not able to move into my new house until three days later (it was over Christmas). They attempted to charge me $600 for a cancelation fee.

Months later after installing them in my new home and a few disputed charges later I finally get my money back from ADT. Everything was fine. I upgraded my equipment in September of 2022. The equipment didn’t work after a month of the…

Run as fast as you can. ADT has horrible customer service and there is not much you can do about it once you are under contract.

Initially, the techs that set up my equipment drilled holes through wall interior and exterior to run lines. I was shocked this wasn't run by me when installing. right away equipment didn't work (plan to be on the phone with ADT for an hour or two). I learned that the techs and those that come to your door to sign you up are not ADT employees but contacted staff. They have no accountably to ADT. Which explains receiving misinformation and janky setup. ADT customer service will pass you along from 1 person to another until you the customer gives in and hangs up. I have been trying to get a hold and cancel with their “contract department” for months. Thirty minute hold times every time a call. The couple of times I was able to talk to someone they promised a lower rate and then it went back up.

I feel pressured into staying with them. They make it very hard to cancel or get a hold of someone.

The relocation manager, Aramis Garcia, has come to our house twice now, and has been belligerent and disrespectful. On his first visit I initially told him to speak with the homeowner, he insisted I deal with it and refused to accept the answers I gave; he gave me a flyer.

I took it and passed it on. When he returned today he asked when the homeowner would be home, I gave him a time and he didn’t accept it by questioning if I was being honest. He was condescending when mentioning that he had been there before, I told I passed on the flyer to the homeowner and that she was not interested and he started challenging me on what I told her. This was beyond rude.

com legacy system. The Operator listened to my list (2 entry door alarms not working, 1 Den motion detector not working, 1 motion detector in south end of house not working properly ) of faulty components and agreed to schedule a technician for Friday August 4 at 3:30 pm.

I moved and asked them to set up at my new apartment. They no longer send a person. It is "easy" do it yourself. I tried for over an hour. I could not get anyone to help me. The people on the phone were rude, condescending, and one told me I was "over reacting".

I made a mistake when I replaced four windows and two patio doors. I knew I would have to have ADT reconnect my system.

Today, I called to have an installer get my system back in place and operational.

I had to make two calls, wait in the queue, talk to 4 people, listen to 2 sales pitches,1 automated system and consume 45 minutes to get an installer scheduled. No, I didn't want a virtual installation! I had to sign my life away in a contract not to mention an outrageous charge. Of course, I was an hour late to work.

This is outrageous customer service. Of course, the last person took the brunt of my displeasure (with grace). I had to deal with her as she was last person in the string.

The installer is supposed to be here tomorrow. (That's hopeful.)

My complaint begins with a faulty glass break panel. The alarm kept going off. I placed a service call spoke with a tech had a virtual call completed only to be advised a tech needs to come out. Tech comes out looks at the panel opens it hits it three times with a screw driver says it's fixed after punching some numbers in the key pad.

Charged me $102 and left. Gone 25 minutes alarm goes off again. Tried to contact him his mailbox is full. Scheduled another visit but they can't get out for about four days. Alarm has to be placed on bypass. Next tech comes out replaces the panel issue resolved.

I have been an ADT customer for at least 8 yrs. , he was in a foreign country and I could not understand what he was saying. I spent 25 minutes on the phone trying to get technical support and I never got it.

I believe there is a special place in hell for these large companies that force their customers to deal with service reps that are half way across the world, they are difficult to understand, most of them can't even give you technical advise and force you to spend precious time going around and around with on the phone with them to get no results.

They sent someone Friday, (Leo) June 2, he spent the whole afternoon trying and calling for help and ended up telling me that he doesn't know how to do it. He disconnected the camera he was working on with no success.

I called again and they refused to send me someone the next day (Saturday) or Monday or even Tuesday.

Finally another tech came Wednesday, June 7 and also could not fix it, but he asked me to check my app because it should be working but it doesn't and he disconnected my two remaining cameras. I am really upset at this point.

Called for customer service because cameras started having a delay in notifications. The first lady tried to help but didn't really know much. Got disconnected. The next lady (I use that term loosely) was very rude and talked down to me and suggested that I buy a better phone if I wanted better service.

She has mo clue what type phone I have. She put me on hold and ne er returned. The third lady was very nice and tried several things. I live in a rural area and keep my doors and windows open when I'm home.

You have a TERRIBLE customer service setup for loyal customers like me. We are on our second account with you, over a decade in, and would like to make a small simple change to my service by canceling the video we pay for but do not use.

I have been wanting to make this change for over a year and realize why I haven't yet done it. It is IMPOSSIBLE to get a person on the phone when you need to make the change (the only way possible).

I have called several times and never can get through as the wait is always over an hour and I can't sit on the phone waiting over an hour. This is terrible. A black female Adt associate said I would have to pay for a service technician visit. I told her what was happening and she had me to put in codes. After putting in codes she said I would have to have a technician to come and it would not cost me to because the keypad is not in properly.

I have had adt blue for almost a year now and it has never worked. they referred me to another place and that place told me they did not do that type of work. I ended up paying someone to come into my home and install everything for me and it's still not working.

The alarm inside, my house was deactivated by a workmen. We want it put back on and we are told that we have to upgrade our system. We’ve been on the phone for over an hour, switched from customer service person to another customer service person and we are done.

I have a beeping problem for 3 weeks now. When the worker csme 3 weeks ago he had to bring the parts bsck in 4 days. I work everyday. So the next day wss 3/17/23. Parts were replaced 3/17/23. Starting beeping again.

i called was told will send him back. I had an afternoon appt . He did call but i wasn't at home. Since than i tried to stop the beepung many many many many call. Your staff tried. I cannot disconnect those wires for the beeping to stop as your staff asked me too.

I cancelled my service with ADT & agreed to pay out my contract(2019). I set it on automatic with ADT so that I wouldn't miss a payment with them. Well, when the contract was finished - even though they were not monitoring my home - ADT continued to charge my account - for 2 years!

I brought this to their attention - even with the cancellation in my records - they denied my refund request. 00 for services that they did not provide. I am so disgusted. I will never recommend them - they are not an honest company.

2 times our alarm has gone off. Once at about 3:30 AM and again today at about 6:00 PM. Today it was the carbon monoxide detector. Previously a window alarm. Naturally both of these created anxiety especially worried about someone breaking in or about a potentially deadly situation.

Both times we called the number listed on the website. Both times I responded that yes the alarm was going off. To me that would seem to require some sort of urgent response.

I made the mistake of looking into ADT for a business. " One half hour wasted just trying to get off a call list. Even a call back resulted in no one being on the other end of the phone.

ADT takes advantage of senior citizens. They tricked my mother to sign up to automate withdrawals (she insists she never approved) so stopped sending statements to her. She sold her house over a year ago and called to cancel but they don’t have records of her call.

So basically they continue to charge her monthly for over a year for a service of a house she does not own. I called to see if she can at least get some of her money back and terrible customer service and connections ( 3 hours on phone and several lost connection). They refused to help.

If this is how they treat a customer that have been with them for over 17 yrs, I sure don’t want to do business with them. Be careful snd check on your elderly family members as they target them fiercely
