I have heart problems. On Tuesday my Dr. Setup an appointment for hospital for Friday. On Thursday I got a call from hospital saying Aetna sent it for a approval was told it takes 48 to 72 hours for approval.

Here it is Saturday and Aetna telling me they don't have no authorization for me.

Tried to get a verification of coverage so I can apply for Medicare Part B without a penalty. My Aetna plan has been inactive for over two years, so my information is archived. It is impossible to get the verification in a timely manner; customer service is poor, and the phone reps won’t refer the customer to a supervisor.

I am writing to express my disappointment and frustration with the recent experience I had with Aetna's customer service. As a long-standing and loyal customer, I have always appreciated the level of service provided by Aetna, but unfortunately, my recent encounter has left me quite dissatisfied.

On July 17, 2023, I called Aetna to request a vacation override as I was departing for my vacation on July 25, 2023. I have called Aetna at 888-802-3862 MANY times to ask a simple question that I have got several different answers to and nothing they said happened. My question was and is HOW OFTEN IS THE EXPLAINATION OF BENEFITS UPDATED. This is by far the most HORRIBLE customer service I have ever received.

I have spent the past 2 weeks trying to find out why my plan isn't active. You can't get through to a supervisor. You get a different answer from every agent you speak to. My insurance is still not active despite the marketplace and my agent showing it is. I'm appalled. Just today I've been on hold for over an hour waiting for a supervisor.

I desperately need back surgery and Aetna has denied it 3 times. They just go by their 'checkbox' method and say I need 6 weeks of PT because it's been over a year since my last PT (which did not help).

I've tried as many options as possible to help myself physically before I get a 2nd opinion from an orthopedic surgeon. He looked at my X-ray and MRI and told me the only way to get rid of my awful pain is with surgery.

My chiropractor said the same. We've had 2 peer to peer sessions between my surgeon and Aetna telling them that PT won't do anything. I have a super thin fracture on my 5th vertebrae that cause a herniated / sequestrated disc.

Our office works in collecting records for attorneys all over the country, through subpoena and authorization work, WITHOUT A HITCH.

However, getting in contact with the HIPAA Fulfillment team is a NIGHTMARE. No matter what time we call, they are never available, you cannot leave a voicemail, and emails never get responded to unless they are telling you they haven't received the actual request when you check in for a status, BUT

you've sent the request to the same email address that responds to you. Even today, I called the CORPORATE OFFICE, and had someone there call the number, who came back to inform me that nobody answered, and all it says is to "email them for updates" and hangs up.

All other options on the phone line for the HIPPA Fulfillment team tell you to call other people.…

I have requested over the counter catalogue for 2023. Have not received it. Are you waiting for quarterly benefits to expire so I lose my $240 OTC benefit? I prefer to phone my order in, not go to specified drug store or order on line.

This is Case # 51169797 On November 10, 2022 I had my 6 month dental visit. My dentist accepts Aetna and that is why I chose them. The dental office always faxes my reimbursement form right to Aetna. It usually takes about a month to get a check.

It took longer so I called customer service number on my card. 00 had been sent to me and I was not to cash it. 00. Someone had paid me the full amount for dentist . I got the check made out to me and tore it up.

I was told my right amount would reprocessed immediately and sent out. Well I don't have it yet. Now two months since my dental appointment. This call was rather quick and I was told my check had been mailed and I should get that week or the next week which was last week.

REWARDS Program does not let me enter my last name as it has 3 spaces, and your programs are outdated. My account profile has me listed as male and won't let me change it. The last Home Visit put down information that was totally incorrect - totally pulling information out of thin air.

There is no way to reply except a phone number that no one answers and a message board to which no one responds. A total waste of time. I had a yearly physical in 2020 and one scheduled for 2023 but no way to list this.

If I can't talk to a human, I don't want to be bothered. I have many more complaints about Aetna and will address in next complaint.

Rude call representative who couldn't answer my question and kept repeating the same line the claim has been denied without any explanation. I only wanted to understand why it was denied and only answer we because it wasn't allowed in my policy. That's not an answer.

How can I file a repeal if I don't know why it's denied other than the blanket not deemed medically necessary. Teach them to say I don't know the answer and at least point in the right direction.

I'm been denied urgent need of back surgery. My dr's have appeared upto 2 level appeal and still Aetna not approving. My Dr stated in his appeal that the 6 week PT was not going to FIX me. I'm on a short term disability from work due to my condition.

I am so very disappointed in Aetna's customer service. I cannot ever speak to someone on shore, I ask and they refuse to transfer me. I have claims that are not paid. One is over a year old and when I send messages through Availity they never respond to me.

I have talked to resolution specialists and nothing accomplished. I also have claims that said PAID and no payment. Asked for another payment to be re-issued. Called several times and several reference# given and my last call customer service said that they cannot help me and to just appeal for our payment.

Hello, We have been trying to get our claims resolved and a long overdo payment sent to us. Every time our office sends our bills to Aetna they are rejected, and not at a fault of our own. We have numerous calls into Aetna and all representatives have said it is Aetna's error with the PBG # on their end is being put incorrectly into Aetna's system.

They keep saying they will reprocess all of the claims urgently for payment but I have to keep calling and they just keep saying give them more time. They say they will call to keep us updated but do not ever call.

I have spoke with 2 representatives and they both provided me with terrible customer service. The first representative was not knowledgeable on how to assist me at all. The second rep I requested a supervisor and she just placed me back into an extremely long queue which is not what I asked for.

I’ve tried to access my information for the past few weeks on the internet and everything I need when clicked on claims they are having issues so I can’t see half of my documents I need. I have five or six claims that keep getting denied and I have on mycharts where it says my coverage was still good for that month… also directly off of their website the last day of that month for one claim it says it got approved.

Why would that get approved but all my others get denies for being “no longer under coverage”. When calling in to talk to a person. The First Lady was nice and respectful when I told her what I was calling about and she transferred me.

I spoke with a live rep, the first live rep transfer me and the second live rep put me on hold for 45 minutes without providing me the information that I needed as if she doesn't care if I am waiting. She put me on mute, not on hold.

I spent 3 hours,mostly on hold, with 3 different CS people. While they are very polite they know nothing and have the irritating habit of repeating everything you told them 3 times. My complaint is I have a 94 year old mother in assisted living in NJ and the facility has a NP that is in every Wed.

She saw my Mom for a minor complaint on 12/19 and when I got the service she works for (a company that only does "house calls" ) I was billed a $50 co-pay. When I asked the billing company they said Aetna has decided they are a specialist and therefore the $50 co-pay.

So my question to the CS person was does that seem crazy and does Aetna really want me to take my Mom, during COVID times, out of a safe and secure facility to a doctors office filled with sick people in stead of paying for this…

This is about the Aetna Senior Products. To them, the seniors are the easiest to take advantage of and confuse. Perhaps it is because I am old and have held many different jobs that I find Aetna less than competent.

They do not understand the basics of simple bookkeeping, let alone how to properly record requests (other than claims). As for claims, I only had doctor office visits and those were paid. I called in to cancel my supplemental policy. My mistake.

I should have waited until the end of the month but had just gotten new insurance (due to relocation out of their coverage area). I wanted to notify them to not take the next month’s premium. Since I called mid-month, they cancelled immediately even though I said end of the month.

WE ARE AN ACUTE INPATIENT INTENSIVE REHABILITATION HOSPITAL FACILITY (IRF). which is NOT considered a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF). we have made several attempts to contact AETNA on a denied claim which AETNA processed as a Skill Nursing Facility claim due to "AETNA MAIN FRAME WAS NOT UPDATED", per AETNA representative.

and it has been over 90 days and the issue is still not resolved. We have sent emails to AETNA Provider Relations on several occasion, without any responses. We feel AETNA is just causing a stall tactic in order for claim to stale over the date of service, for which would be in JAN/FEB 2020.

We have filed a complaint with Medicare now, and will file a complaint with the State of Colorado Insurance Commissioner also if not resolved soon.

A the end of August I went in to the Family Heath clinic knowing I had to pay $123.00 outta pocket and get reimbursed for the mouth X-rays I desperately needed. I work for a company where Aetna handles the FMLA and Short term disability. I cannot believe all the restraints that are set into motion when you call for the short-term disability. I don't understand why the company continues to badger the doctor after the doctor states a time frame for your issue.

Are the representatives license medical practitioner's? I asked for an audit of my account and have not heard a word since the request was made.

Also per our plan, we receive "earned time" back but that has not been applied to my account. I wish Aetna would do what they say, which is to help people not get people fired and upset them to the point they have a heart attack and die.

The co-pay assistance wants to pay this for me and their refusing to accept. If I cant get my medicine I can end up in a wheel chair. This is a emergency. I really need help getting me meds.

Aetna has reduced our Aetna Worker's Compensation Access, LLC Program to a reimbursement of 0% . I have requested in writing a copy of our contract over 6 weeks ago, however Aetna will not provide the contract and, on weekly follow up phone calls, tells me to call back in one week.

Each representative I speak with insists there is no supervisor that I can speak with, no email, and no way to contact anyone at Aetna regarding my request. In the meantime, as a provider, we are not being reimbursed by any payor that accesses the Aetna fee schedule.

What can be done regarding this refusal to pay?

I just heard Aetna pulled out of the Obamacare marketplace. Now some of my family in Oklahoma only has one insurance option left and it's prices are going up 20% this year. This is not really a complaint about Aetna as much as the Affordable Care Act.

I have been calling for over 6 hours and have still been unable to reach someone to help me. Shame on Aetna customer service. They were not prepared for the new arrivals in 2016. They should have been ready, I have a child with a disability and I and mortified by them.
