Customer service is absolutely unwilling to help and provides more inconsistency in response than I have ever seen. I had a check stolen and cashed fraudulently and have been trying to have this resolved for 2 months. I am no closer to resolution than the day I started because each time I call, there is a different story and another hoop to jump through.

Reps and “supervisors” give contradictory information on the same call, there are outright lies told and there is nothing I can do about it. There is no communication from them, you have to call in for any update and spend 20 minutes going over the same information each time.

They will not proactively check notes on previous conversations to get an idea of what is going on. It truly seems that it is a game of who can last the longest and…

With their new enhancements, the y have totally alienated long time loyal members. I have had to call & go into all kinds of grief just to get access to my account let alone pay a bill for the last 3 mos.

NO one seems to know why or what is happening. Feel sorry for the customer reps who take all the abuse & ill tempers. Will the CEO's who ore overpaid get off their assess & get customer service straightened out??? Fire the CEO's!

Let the folks who actually know what is going on run things. This is ridiculous. Think I will just go to another bank despite over 10 yrs of association.

I recently payed off my loan for a vehicle financed through Ally Auto. The payout was received but not processed until after my next payment due date. It took 40 days until I was reimbursed the overpayment amount. The weeks following the close-out of the loan I contacted customer service several times and was given a different answer on when to expect the reimbursement check.

I've payed off 3 cars in the past with different lenders which required a reimbursement after the loan was closed, I received my check within a week to 10 days. Such poor customer service as well has holding on to my money for well over a month.

Will not use them again.

I opened a savings account on July 15, 2023. On July 17, 2023, I initiated a transfer of $2000 from my Bank of America account. On July 20, 2023 I attempted to review my account to confirm the transfer was successful however I was restricted and unable to log into my account.

I called Ally and was told the account was under review for suspicious activity. I was questioned about what device I attempted to log in and I told the rep that I was using my daughter's phone because her phone is more advance than mine.

I was told that I can not share my information with anyone and I told the rep that my daughter is a minor and lives with me. I am not sharing the information with her, I only downloaded the app on her phone which is technically my phone any way.

Every time I call it's someone from out of the country. Can hardly understand them.

Also, they keep passing me on to other customer service people when I want a simple question asked. It's ridiculous. Why is it I cannot get an American person on the line? Ally Financial is so bad at training people and I'm sick of not hearing them on the phone they always are muffled.

I will NEVER deal with this company again!! I will not recommend this company to anyone at all. Tired of their nonsense!

PLEASE, don't ignore the negative reviews all over the web, and I highly advise against using them based of the small percentage of folks who say they had a good experience, especially those telling you to ignore the negative reviews. This company is bad energy and it's not worth the risk.

They stressed me beyond belief by essentially holding $1#,### dollars of mine (life savings) hostage shortly after opening a new account. Forced me to jump on a call and it took hours of my life away, and they asked me bizarre questions and made me feel like I was be interrogated by police officers.

This is the worse bank to deal with. I paid off my car in June or July of 2022 and it’s July 23 and I still have yet to receive my lien release letter. Every time I call they say they sent the lien release and I still haven’t received it.

I am still waiting to receive it after a year.

I have spent over 15 hours and countless phone calls (two which hung up on me one of the representatives last name was Nixon 7/29/23 3:30pm) speaking to every department including online e-chat and a three way call between the merchant and supervisor of the bank which lead to the bank having to file filing a dispute which I have all recorded.

The merchant is a regular merchant and my refund was marked as fraud and blocked. The merchant said- no we sent it, it was received this is on the bank to figure out,. The dispute was not filed correctly it was filed for the purchase not the return and then noted beneath that it was such a long time ago Mastercard is unable to do anything, A refund from a merchant I regularly use was flagged as fraud. 3/31/23 and 6/1/23.

91, that is my charge. No phone call or text was sent to me. On July 11, I traveled for work and was notified when using car for rental that I was declined. This is the worst bank and I need my card activated now.

When i purchased this truck at the dealership they did financing through Ally Auto. Dealership sold me 3 contracts on the day i purchased the vehicle, one for service contract, the other for maintenance and lastly for gap through JM&A company.

I sold truck and the loan was paid off on 6/9/23.

I contacted JM&A regarding cancelling the 3 service contracts since i no longer had the vehicle to get a refund. JM&A sent 3 refund checks for those service contracts on 6/14 back to Ally Auto. After numerous attempts of calling and emailing Ally Auto regarding the refunds it is now 7/14 and i still haven't received any refunds for the 3 service contracts from Ally Auto. I am a beneficiary of a account holder who passed away May 24th. Trying to deal with your company as a beneficiary has been one of the worst experiences of my life. Have you looked at your Ally Bank Facebook lately? The comments go on for miles with complaints similar to mine.

To be specific, I called and was told there were 2 accounts. On one, I was listed as a beneficiary (IRA account) and on another, none listed. My Dad had dementia when he set that up so I'm sure he thought I was on there. Regardless, they sent me a link to upload documents for both accounts. I sent everything including death certificates for my mom and dad, as she was still listed as primary even though she passed 8 years ago. Horrific lien release experience. I paid off my car last Tuesday 6/13/23. I was told I’d receive a lien release fax in 2-3hrs. I don’t receive it, wait an additional day, still don’t receive it. Call them on 6/15. They tell me it actually takes 2-3 business days and my request was submitted and pending.

I wait until today 6/20, still haven’t received it. I call and they end up submitting another request to have it faxed to me on top of the initial request I placed a week ago. I have people lining up to test drive my car and I can’t fucking sell it.

This experience has been horrific. Not to mention your customer service team is completely outsourced by people who barely speak English. And when I asked to file a formal complaint, they said there’s no department that takes formal complaints…

Freaking low life thugs charged me $35 buck to use my own debit card for an airline ticket purchase. They the same as the big banking thugs out there. Dont do business with Ally. They are just cons who nibble away at your hard earned money.

First Ally keeps sending me new debt cards without my notification, for no reason. When your card is locked, it takes two days for them to unlock it. They charge $20 for wire transfers. With all these security requirements for fraud, Ally bank is the biggest!

They will hold your money despite errors on their behalf! They lock my card when I’m making regular transactions, they sent a fraud text and I verify my transaction just for them to lock it again!!!! The 2nd time it locks, you have to wait 2days for a representative to unlock your card!

They obsessively ask questions to verify it’s you, just to make you wait 2 days. more hassle then it’s worth

I just received a phone call from a supervisor of Alley named Mr. Martin, who was very disrespectful to me on 5/11/2023 at 1.20pm from phone number 972-537-2163 I was trying to get someone to look into the matter. I set up a payment extension with the customer service department, and with the agreement, I was to pay 151.00 and 141.42 and which was to be paid by April 1, 2023, and I sent in an ACH check in the amount of 300.00 the next following day alley went into my account four times twice to take 900.00 twice to take 800.00. I never agreed on that, and because they did that, it caused my bank account to go into a deep overdraft, and it caused my payment extension to fail.

I just had Ally Financial unlawfully repossess my vehicle. They did not give provide the Cobb Notification letter they are required to send me since they were accepting my late payments. They are Ally financial and have class action law suits against them for this exact issue and also within the state of Minnesota where they paid $780 in settlement due to them not following proper protocol per state laws.

I got behind in payments when I was laid off last year, notified them of my lay off, they wouldn’t do any payment arrangement or payment assistance since my loan was so new so when I regained employment I have been paying monthly payment plus additional amount each month to get caught up.

If I could choose a negative rating I would! I invested in CD accounts with Ally because they are a large bank with really good rates. On March 15 I closed a 6 figure CD and asked for the funds to be dispersed in two other CDs and gave the amounts for each. Ally created two CD accounts but never funded them. After many phone calls, case numbers and the run around they funded only one account with all of the money. Clearly not what I asked for. I made more phone calls, spoke to several supervisors who assured me they would rectify it, more case numbers and more supervisors but no resolution.

Fast forward and what Ally did was cancel the CD which had the total amount and create a checking account to deposit the funds into. They then said they would create two new CDs and fund those properly…

I had a $100 direct deposit go missing. I know for a fact it was sent by my employer but Ally can't seem to tell me where it is. Also, I had to replace the phone I had when I set up the account and even called the bank to let them know of this issue and they still locked my account stating they could not verify my identity to find my money.

They locked my account because I changed my cell number 4 days after opening my account. I have called repeatedly and they won’t unlock. I have over $20,000 that I can’t access to pay all my monthly bills via automated debit.

Constantly told I get a call from investigators but it has not happened and they won’t provide ETA. Illegal to just basically take my money and hold hostage.

My account 1113875205 was closed due to suspicious activities. 00. This money were transferred from the US Bank. Ally bank doesn't want to give my money back unless US Bank will provide a letter of content. US Bank does not provide letters like this.

I paid off my auto loan 10 months early in June of 2022. 69? I paid the exact amount I was told was left on my account. Why do I find this out 9 months later? I even received a letter asking me in June of 2022 if I wanted to then purchase the vehicle.

I called the Payment Assistance number because we have fallen behind due to illness. I called at 5:41 and was waiting to speak to someone, at app 5:50 a woman answered. There was a lot of noise as in laughing screeching sounded like a party.

I asked if there was a problem and she said there was a distraction in her office to go ahead with my call. Just then someone was screeching and laughing. I said I had business to discuss and could she mute the background noise.

She did mute the noise because she hung up on me. I’m when I am discussing personal financial issues I would appreciate a professional atmosphere and someone who can assist me. I also tried a chat and appreciated the response but the chat became “unavailable”

I am a single mom and a full time student. I work nights and weekends to support my self and my 2 year old. I got behind on 2 payments and Ally WOULD NOT let me catch up on the payments.

At this point I have to surrender my car and now I have no way to work or school. I tried 3 times to try to get them to work this out with me and they refused. I have the funds to catch it up but they just didn’t want to work with me.

The car is worth $8,000 above what they are willing to give me on a trade so I can’t trade it. Thanks Ally from a single mom that you have disrupted her life. Such a sad day.

My husband died suddenly and unexpectedly last march the 24th since then I’ve contacted y’all and have been approved for the assumption loan but I’ve never received anything stating it in black and white ! Here it is a year later and I can’t get a tag for it!

I had the worst experience I have ever had in my life with any financial institution with Ally bank recently. I was with this company as a customer for 10 years. I will be writing an entire review with screenshots oh my wait time, lies, deception, and the theft of my money.

I was late on a payment in November due to hardship, called in Decemeber to nicely ask the late fee be waived. Was told they would. It is now almost March and I have called a total of 3 times because the original late fee was never waived and 2 more have been added to it!

RE: AUTO LEASE

My auto lease had 3-payments remaining when another driver smashed and totaled the vehicle while PARKED.

My intent was to BUYOUT the lease in May 2023, e-mail notification had already been emailed to the Dealer stating my intent.

The buyout per contract + remaining lease payments equals $26,500 Auto Insurance paid/settled with Ally Auto Financial $36,369 The overpayment is $9,831

Most if not all leasing/finance company send the overpayment to the buyer. NOT Ally Auto Financial, they are unresponsive, do not indicate where in the CONTRACT it states the buyout becomes null and void should the car become damaged beyond repair.

Due to no fault of my own, I am not out any equity, no transportation and no trade.

I can see why Ally has a horrible rating with the BBB.

I have repeatedly tried to get a lien release from a car that Ally wrote off 4/5 years ago. Nobody, Nobody seems to be able or willing to help nor do they speak intelligible english. I have been battling with ally bank for a deposit of a valid bank check. According to their investigations team, they closed my account because my 'bank check' was not valid. I know they never called to confirm check was valid since they claim it was not 'Valid' .Don't waste your time if you don't want to be back and forth with them.

ally auto bank suspended my payments after making payments over 4 years now and when the car is almost payed off now they wouldn't take the payments and wants to take the car instead. Tried calling emailing no response wouldn't talk email or say anything what's going on.

For approximately two months, I have been waiting for the title on my DECEASED wife's vehicle. I paid off the vehicle, 2015 Chevy Cruze LTZ, before Christmas 2022. On October 28, 2022, I emailed (Brittany Bonton-Cole) death certificate to the Deceased Account Holders Department at Ally Bank and have called numerous times but have not received the title in my name (Augustus B. Cole).

It's critical that I receive the title expeditiously in order to get the current tag and sticker for the vehicle which the State of Tennessee requires. Your expedient action would be appreciated during this difficult time for me and my family.

Several months ago my Amazon membership was declined. I went on to my Ally online account to find that my checking and savings were closed out. I called Ally and after waiting the traditional 30 minutes plus hold time, I spoke to a rep that was unable to inform me what was happening.

I was told a check and letter of explanation was being sent to me. The check and explanation came. Explanation was that (according to section 35 as I recall) Ally can close your account at any time for any reason. That was helpful. No warning. No notice.

I had to scramble to deposit funds into a new bank and get rush approval for new direct deposit. It nearly caused total financial ruin. I had auto debits and other bills to pay. I had account for close to 10 years without a problem.

I pay my auto loan 7-10 days early every month and most of my payment goes to interest. When I call them and ask why my payments are going more to interest and not the principle they put me on hold and dont get back on phone. The only time my payments should go more to interest is if I pay exactly on time.

My debit card has been declined multiple times because they are alerting the transaction as fraud and each time I DO NOT receive an alert. When I asked them to unlock my card they asked me to try my transaction again.

Ally: This was declined due to a potential security risk with the company, there is no fraud alert and the debit card is unlocked.

Me: It’s not unlocked because it keeps declining

Ally: You can attempt the transaction again, however, we cannot guarantee that the transaction will be approved.

I paid off the car loan. The check has cleared, you have your money. There is no way I could stop payment on the check even if I wanted to. The car was just totaled. The insurance company won’t do anything till I have a lean release.

I opened an account to set up direct deposit for my SSI and I had money transferred into account well since I didn't yet have a bank acct I tried to connect the ally acct to my cash app and my old bank acct with chime so I could withdraw my money that was deposited into ally.

They froze acct for fraudulent activity and now are closing the account but wouldn't transfer my money and want to mail it to me. There was no fraud it was my other 2 accts and they didn't even call first to check to make sure it was me doing the activity before they froze it they just immediately froze it and

now I'm won't tell me when I'll see my money I had in my account.

I have called numerous times to get my account straightened out. Twice today. I talked with one supervisor and he hung up on me. Could not answer the simplest of questions. I will not make another payment until something is done with my account, especially the penalties that I have incurred and was not aware of until I looked up documentation. I would like a running balance of my account since inception. I would also like to talk with someone above a supervisor. The one I talked with was horrible.

My car was stolen on October 29 2022 and was sent to the city pound on November 2 2022 instead of Ally, letting my insurance company, Travelers financial come and get my car from the city pound Ally came and repo my car on December 1, 2022 and is still in possession of my vehicle as of today December 28, 2022 even after I told Ally not to come and repo my car that it was stolen not abandon

Credit Karma said that consumers thats auto loans are currently in good standing that you can call your lender to have late payments removed. Ally will not and said legally they cannot. I am positive Credit Karma would not have this listed if it were not possible.

I’m upset because during a hardship I paid high fees, received lates on credit bureau and now made it through and they will not help me. So sad, not away to keep future customers. I could have let the car go back, but instead had to put a new motor in the car and took very good care of it.

Now, I have to live with these late payments for years to come. Ally should do what’s right and help good paying customers with removing lates on their credit. Instead they lied and said legally they cant.

Getting 1 star because 0 isn’t an option. Only been with them for two months and both months they submitted my one time online payment multiple times within 2 days causing insufficient funds fee to accrue after receiving payment successfully processed the first time.

After an hour of trying to get through the first time I was assured problem had been rectified, ended up having to call back the same day after speaking with my bank to confirm resolution, wasting another hour of my time. Both times getting reps whose middle eastern accents made it hard to comprehend.
