On 8/13 i took an amtrak train from fayetteville, nc with intended destination of alexandria, va. While onboard i was harassed by staff and other passengers about my 9 month old not being able to keep headphones on and requests for child accomadations such as a booster seat in the dining car.

While other passengers used media devices headphone free and i documented and pointed this out I and my child were the only ones targeted. As a result of this harassment i was forced to disembark early in richmond and scramble to have family meet me there.

As amtrak advertises family friendly services i feel what happened violated terms of service and local and federal law. I filed a previous complaint immediately and have since been ignored. This is my last attempt to settle this matter amicably…

m. it's majorly inconvenienced with a 3-hour delay lack of information as to what was going on and I purchased a round trip ticket the service is poor very poor I don't travel much but when I do travel I expect performance I didn't get that I am stuck in Atlanta and have to work in the morning.

Remedy I want half refund getting to Atlanta was fine it was when it was time for me to depart and go home I would like a refund.

Where do I even begin? From canceling a train only a few days before departure, to falsely claiming availability of rooms on multiple trains where there are none, to customer service reps not even knowing what they’re talking about, this company is a disaster.

I had to cancel a trip from Florida to Virginia and I didn't get my full refund. I was charged a cancellation fee which is acceptable but why put some of my money back in my debit card and give me an $80 voucher?

I can't travel on trains anymore because of personal reasons meaning $80 was taken from me? I would like the $80 back on my debit card please and thank you!

An employee named Derek ( large black gentleman) Amtrak @ Union Station Chicago was very rude, and demeaning to us as well as many other passengers who approached him. He refused to answer simple questions, made herding like movements with his arms, and repeated the same phrase over & over again. It was degrading.

We finally were told we could go to the lounge since being older than 62.

On May 29 we took a trip from NY to BOS in the quiet car. It was the only car that had 2 seats together. Now I understand quiet car means no loud noises , no talking on the phone , no loud music , but no where does it say NO TALKING.

It states " Guests are asked to limit conversation and speak in subdued tones ". I quietly asked my husband a few questions , who was sitting right next to me , did not have a full blown conversation in a loud voice.

Another passenger complained about the " noise " we were making. One of the conductors came across & stated it was the quiet car & there was no talking allowed & if we wanted to talk we would have to change our seats.

Meanwhile there was a barking / whining dog in the quiet car & another man in the front of the car SNORING that we could hear…

45 Description: Train arrived early and we were told we could not disembark because the staff at Sanford station has not arrived. Then the air was shut down in the train, leaving us cooped up in a closed box. The attendant was able to get off and on the train easily, which means we could have have too.

There is no reason for an entire train fill of passengers to suffer inside an shutdown train for more than an hour other than some bureaucratic steps.

I have been calling and calling trying to get my Amtrak Rail Travel Privilege Card updated. I worked for the Santa Fe Railroad, which is now the BNSF Railroad for 36 years. I've had a pass for years, but now I'm told it has to be updated. I've call the Pass Bureau phone number, was told I had to email them. Did that and still did not receive any help. Nobody wants to help me with updating my pass. I want to take a trip a trip but the Amtrak Rail Privilege card is not any good. Its really a shame I can't get anyone to help me get my Rail Pass straighten out' Like I worked for the Railroad for 36 years, from June of 1968 to Sept. of 2004.

On April 10, 2023, I, William McCord boarded CAR #2230 out of Fort Worth going to Los Angeles. My wife and I reserved ROOM H, since I am handicapped & have some difficulty with stairs. 17 hours out of LA, the plumbing breaks down. Our toilets were locked.

Since our sleeper was at the rear of the train, it was adjacent to a coach car. In order to use bathrooms, I had to climb sleeper stairs, go to coach, descend coach stairs with reverse on the way back.

Unfortunately I also had some intestinal issues at that time. This is not the first time I have experienced plumbing failure on Amtrak, but the first time that I was in a handicapped state. Such problems can adversely effect your passengers & possibly their health.

I had NO issues with Gino the car's porter, but hope that my difficulties…

A lady got on the train with 2 kids they were Baba kids. I did purchase a Business Class ticket was kicked in the back from the back of my seat taking the table on the back of my seat nocking it up and down, I heard her tell the boy she was going to call the police on him.

it was a bad train ride and Spitting, all Amtrak employees that I came in touch with were Excellent. Why are kids in Business Class? now he screening in the back of my head. It's BAD, BAD.

I earlier wrote to you regarding the service we received for our business class ride from Union Station to Bloomington/Normal as we returned from a trip. You sent an e-mail to us with a case number assigned to it. I have misplaced the letter.

You had requested our ticket # and reservation #. The circumstances regarded the conductor not doing his job. He didn’t even put the slip above our seat concerning our destination. He also didn’t tell us where to get off of the train or that we were arriving at our destination, letting us off on the south side of the tracks rather than the train station side.

The cafe car guy was ultimately the one who opened the door for us, with absolutely no instructions of how to get into the station. We had to walk quite a ways, and we had to cross the tracks at…

This is a complaint on my train ride on December 29th on Train #29 from Pittsburgh to St Louis. I sat in seat 4 the last row. My seat was stuck /broken in the recline position with my feet up.

not only that but something was wrong in the tail end of that car. It was swaying and banging and clanging. Air was coming from somewhere and it WAS COLD. I did video it.... so I did not ask for mine to be changed.

Our first leg of the trip was good ... 2nd one was AWFUL and the 3rd leg was good. With that being said this is not acceptable by no means. I'm sure you yourself or a family member would not have had to ride in that seat 10 hours.

On December 28, 2022 my husband and a I rode train #29 seays 3&4 from Pittsburgh to Chicgo. First. my seat is broken and I could not put my foot rest down. 2nd we are at the back of the train where is is squeaking and sounds like we are about to loose what is attached.

My girlfriend works the desk for Heartland Parking in downtown Normal, IL. This evening we were having an argument ( no yelling or foul language). The female ticket agent ( She was working with Dalton ) was overheard saying "Oh wow, I can't believe it",and " I would never tolerate that ". Keep in mind that I never verbally abused my girlfriend in any manner whatsoever, and that this was a private conversation between my girlfriend and I. I found this to be very unprofessional and in extremely bad judgment. I am bringing this matter to your attention, and would greatly appreciate your office looking into this matter as soon as possible.

Description of Complaint: We took a honeymoon trip booked through the Amtrak website and by phone through multiple states for multiple days. I booked an Amtrak roomette train trip for 10/27/2022 from Toccoa, GA to Seattle, WA. On the first two trains I was given a roomette in a First Class train car. The third train car from Chicago on the Empire Builder train I was put in a roomette in a transition sleeper car. This is not what I paid for.

The first night in my roomette I was laying down and trying to watch a video on my laptop computer. A wall seat cushion was loose and hitting my head when I tried to position myself to watch the video. I pulled the lower round cushion forward and heard the sound of velcro and pulled on it to try to detach it. The entire two wall cushions with the metal plate from the wall came down on my forehead.

There are two female employees at Union station in New Haven CT, that are plain rude, very nasty attitude, unwilling to help, this was on 11/11/2022 around 3:30 pm. They need to be retrained, they need some,to understand how important costumer service is for any company. The terminal was busy , they where not over work, there was no reason for there terrible, very disrespectful, very inconsiderate.

Amtrak Member Number 9003760438 On October 22 2022 my husband Lev Dragobetsky and I , Tatiana Dragobetsky, were taking a train 5344 roomette 4 from Lorton to Sanford. The trip was supposed to be exiting and interesting. We were expecting the comfort on the train.

But the room was terrible. Everything rattled and jarred: the windows to the corridor and to the outside, the door, the shelves and stairs. My husband was literally keeping his hands on the windows to shut the noise. From time to time the door unlocked by itself and SLIDED with the BUMS AND BOOMS while opening and closing.

We had a nice Stuart Charles, who mentioned that they know about the problems but they do nothing to repair the cars. My trip left very poor experience especially for the amount of money that we paid for it.…

I purchased a round trip ticket (974188) on 9-21-22 for a trip to San Diego on 9-30-22 t0 return the next day 10-1-22. My return trip was cancelled due to service disruption. I received an email stating this and that there was other transportation available.

After multi phone calls and being on hold for quite a long time on each call, i finally spoke to a representative (Kevin). He could not provide me with any information for other transportation available to get me back to Moorpark, where i started my trip.

Because of the cancellation i incurred added expenses that i was not prepared for. Let alone i had to get back for an important meeting that i had to cancel. The extra expenses included extra night stay at the hotel, taxi fare, rental car, gasoline, and meals.

I bought an Amtrak USA rail pass for $399 in March and canceled it on July 17. I was supposed to receive a refund after a cancelation fee of $99.75 and evoucher of $82.50 of $216.75 to my credit card. I even have an email from amtrak to this effect. However, somehow another $99.75 was taken off my refund and i only received $117.

Neither refunds nor amtrak customer service has been able to resolve this issue now for almost six weeks.

Booked a multi-city trip at great expense for that trip of a lifetime to visit my sister who is suffering from a stroke in Oregon from where we live in CT.

Second time they changed the schedule to cancellation of a room for the return leg of a trip of 3 days duration, stating you are now in coach. No explanation given and the impact of this cancellation is far reaching, my wife now having to cancel a trip two days after our return and myself cancellation of several appointments.

We were able to book an alternative but it is now 10 days later. We also now are visiting our friends in Washington 10 days later and now they are working so we will be in an empty house. I have submitted these details to Amtrak but to date no response over a week later.

Approximately 12:45ish we approached the 30th street terminal We were able to locate the red cap service for us for our luggage and.. there were 3 of us.. and one of the went to the bathroom so we are just standing around..

Travel June 22,2022 from Rockymount, NC to Miami. Should have arrived in Miami by 6:40 pm. Arrived in Miami that night 6 hours late. Train car was very hot. No one would assist to accommodate me to another car. Train stop on tracks for hours.

I need to file a complaint about our return trip yesterday traveling from NY (NYP) to Florence, SC (FLO) Reservation# 136AEC. forty-five minutes before the train was due to arrive in Fayetteville, NC the ticket taker told us they were shutting the car we were riding in down and we had to find seats in the car behind us which they were none.

We were able to find a seat for my 10 year old daughter with a total stranger whom she did not want to sit with and was afraid. The remaining four of us had to stand up in the back by the bathroom until people got off the train.

I have never experienced anything like this in my life. All the while we were standing up the train was moving fast and I hit my head several times on the luggage bar while trying to hold on to our luggage at the same time. Then…

I have a disability and I can legally have service dogs with me. The woman behind the counter at Amtrak Jack London square refused me service based on she said the reason I have service dogs is not an acceptable reason.

She then said I'm allowed on the train but my service dogs are not. She had me so upset because I knew that legally I have the right to bring my service dogs with me. She refused to give me her name the man in the next window refuse to give me a ticket as well because he said whatever she said that's what we're going to do.

After experiencing extreme frustration my service dogs and I walked over and ended up getting on the train. The conductor came to me and said where are you going ma'am and I told him and he said it's okay no worries have a nice trip.

I’d give a 0 stars if I could, this is my second time using the Amtrak service and I’d rather spend twice as much in a flight for my next trip. 3/4 of the staff is incredibly rude, a complete lack of professionalism and any kind of human decency, the train is filthy, the rest of the passengers are loud when most of everyone is trying to sleep at 1 am and

I get asked aggressively to turn my music off when I’m trying to put in earbuds, not the 2 people to the left of me chatting away, not only that but I wasn’t asked in any appropriate way, an aggressive, condescending, and over all asshole tone was used.

On top of that the cafe cart was open maybe for 4 hours I’d the trip, between the 2 hour long employee meal breaks and the hour long restocking that happened 3 times since I boarded less…

Bus driver left late now he seems to be exceeding the speed limit to make up for lost time. This is bus 5717 scheduled to leave at 10:55 am. Left at 11:10 am. Safety for all, him included should always be utmost priority.

My name is Rosie. I scheduled a round trip from Atlanta, Georgia to Tuscaloosa, Alabama. The dates were from June 17, 2022 to June 19, 2022. Train 19 was scheduled to depart at 9:08 and arrival was 1:58 pm. Train 20 was scheduled @ 3:14 pm and the arrival was 11:00 pm.

On Friday, June 17, there was a 4 hours delay. On Sunday, June 19, there was a 6 hours delay and I didn’t get to Georgia until 4:35 am. I’m totally Exhausted and Frustrated with Amtrak Train Station Service. The person behind the counter in Tuscaloosa was extremely rude and she kept lying about why the train was extremely late.

Train Delays and Bus service not provided on train #6 Reservation # E68AOA on June 6th. There was no Bus available to pick us up and we had to hail a cab to transport us over to Emeryville. Tis cost us $55.00. We go there as the train was loading passengers. Train 6 made it to Galesburg or destination and was late approximately 8hr and 30 mins. We were advised that Amtrak credited us a voucher for $400.00 Which ? I don't think they knew about the NO Bus pickup in San Francisco.

I took a one way Amtrak from Houston station on Saturday, June 11,2022 which departed at approx 6:55 PM to end up in Union Station, Los Angeles. Confirmation #F3D5B7. I was returning home from surgery so I was still recovering and somewhat weak. I am also 68 years old.

During that ride the air conditioning failed on the train and this was during the heat wave that covered all the states we traveled through. I knew it was extremely hot in the train cars. I took a temperature reading with an app in my cell at it was 91 degrees. It was a horrible insufferable experience that lasted days.

The conductors were troopers these poor souls that had to deal with the heat. They gave us unlimited water bottles and even gave out free pizza to placate us. I can't blame these issues on the conductors,…

I'm June 1,2022, I was supposed to travel from Marshall Texas to Pomona CA. The trains arrival was late. , We were told that everyone was to get off the train and will be bussed to San Antonio Tx. That there would be a train waiting for us to finish our trip.

When we arrived in San Antonio, no train was waiting. We were told we would board a train at 12;45. After 1:30 we were told that we were to come in side the train station. The station would not hold everyone. We got in line.

When it was my turn, I was told I would have to come back to Marshall Texas to reschedule my trip. How ever a few hours later I was told different by another passinger. As I went through the door, my foot caught on rug that wasn't sucurred. I fell. I hit hard.

Only a young sercuity gaud asked if I was hurt. NOT…

m. departure from Los Angeles to Old Town in San Diego. One of your personal using a Cushman for luggage ran over my dogs tail causing him to bark at her. As a result they refused to let me board citing my dog was aggressive.

I explained to her what happened, she got buligerant, and rude with myself and another person who saw what happened and tried to inform her. We reported this to security and they wouldn't do anything to straiten the matter out.

You personel acted very unprofessional. I will not use Amtrak again.

I was scheduled June 4 on a train from Chicago to Kansas City # 319 Missouri River Runner. We found out the train would not run from St. Louis to Kansas City within an hour of boarding in Chicago because of a derailment.

At first we were going to be placed on busses to finish out the trip across Missouri. When we reached St. Louis we were informed we would be spending the night in St. Louis. Agents in St. Louis did not relay information to passengers in a timely manner and we were only given 1 meal.

I was not expecting to pay for 3 meals on June 5 and make new arrangements to be picked up. I live 2+ hours from Kansas City so this was an additional burden. I feel compensation should be given for meals at the very least. Agents in St.
