I rented vehicle in St. Albert, Alberta location. My experience was not the best. Upon entering vehicle, oil change light came on. I informed attendant and was told not to worry about it. Throught my travels, beeping came on several times. I did not check while driving as not familiar with controls.

When returning vehicle, I filled gas tank as per contract. Attendant did the check over vehicle, came back into store and whispered to other attendant, I knew discussion was about my rental and thought it to be very rude to do so in my presence. The issue apparently was that the gas guage showed not full. I informed them that I did fill up across the street and not sure why it shows as under full. I rented a car online last night and when I clicked the payment button the fee was about $150 more than the amount advertised next to the pay now button. I was shocked. I called to cancel this morning and was told to cancel would cost me $50. I want a full refund, not a penalty for being tricked into a contract that I thought was a real deal but ended up feeling like I was scammed. Who can I contact to discuss this issue besides the main customer support number that offers me no help with this at all? I don't appreciate being tricked and this is exactly what happened when I made this reservation online last night. Why do you need to take my money for an honest misunderstanding on my end, and a feeling of misleading me into a sale?

After a very long flight, I arrived at MCO and received instructions to collect my rented vehicle. It was supposed to be a RAM Pickup. On arriving at the allocated space [Y52] there was a white GMC ACADIA. Thinking something was amiss, I returned to the rental desk with all of my luggage.

I was given another location for another vehicle. I don’t understand how I could have been sent to a parking space where an incorrect vehicle was located. I would appreciate a discounted fee related to this rental for this unacceptable faux pas.

After a long stressful night in the airport I picked up my reservation in at the Avis counter in the Buffalo Airport. Customer service was pleasant and the agent was attentive and courteous. The car rented to me was a Honda Civic XL.

As usual before departing to head for home in Marietta, Ga. it seemed perfect. as I drove down the interstate the car began veering to the left and the rear end was began roaring. Already stressed and pressed to get home it was quite frightening.

The speed would determine the how loud the roar was at certain speeds the sound was unbearable. I was not sure whether I would make it home. I’m trying to figure out why after making my reservations far in advance I always have to wait for a car that tends to put me late for important business events. I rent from Avis no less than twice per month for 6 days at a time for each rental that costs a pretty penny and I have my car preferences on my profile (Toyota Camry;Nissan Altima;Kia Optima last choice) and

In dealing with a glitch whereby a car needed to be delivered to an FBO vs the main terminal, I made an effort to speak with a local rep and of course, plus after 3 attempts to do so, was switched to a central Avis customer service dept. They could not help my situation so then forwarded me on to your Special Services or similar dept.

I do not recall the reps name and though he was helpful in the beginning in canceling the first reservation and getting a car able to be delivered in time for my flight arrival, he said he was not able to refund my prepaid initial pmt as it was beyond the cancellation window by an hour. Both I and the chief pilot had made phone calls prior to the cancellation time with attempts to reach your local airport branch futile.

I am writing this email to bring to your attention the experience my family had to endure on our vacation with Avis. We booked a Mini SUV out of Orlando, FL, preferably a Toyota Rav4. Upon our arrival in Orlando, airport we walked up to the customer counter at Avis and the young man took our information then proceeded to tell us that we should use the toll box for a flat rate of $60 since our tolls would surpass $70 in fees driving to Cape Canaveral, FL.

On Saturday, July 15th 2023 in the Atlanta Airport Car Rental Center, I rented a car from Avis for the first - and the last - time. Upon arrival to the counter I found 6-8 employees who were ill trained and unable to complete simple rentals in a timely manner. It took 3 employees over 45 minutes to execute my rental, but that's not the reason for my complaint.

Told car was newer model. Car died. Horrible rotten egg smell. Customer service (which doesn't exist) was not going to help me since Chicago didn't show up in their system so they were going to leave me stranded in AZ in 109 degree temp. Battery jumped.

Car started but smell didn't go away. Was afraid to drive. Flying home next day. Car would not start. Car was towed. Had to take Uber to airport. Avis's bill to me included cost for the tow plus other charges!

Was told bill would be adjusted. New invoice, no change!! Can't get anyone on the phone now. Plus they have not released my hold fee. Do Not use Avis!!

I’m writing this regarding the mistreatment I’ve received from the team member Tyler at the Arnold, Mo location Avis. This team member has lied on me, overcharged me on multiple occasions, ended my terms for no valid reason. Which has called me to lose a lot!

This is a way I’m able to provide for myself and my family and he’s taken that away from me. I’ve contacted numerous of supervisors and customer service representatives! Every one is pushing me back to the location and I cannot speak with that team member.

It saddens me no one is willing to help me with this issue or get it resolved. I’ve rented with other companies a golf member with enterprise and I’ve never had this issue with anyone. I have a high rating the mistreated truly is sad.

Months ago we reserved a CAR in Vancouver on Homer St. On July 12,2023 I went to the Avis pickup. The only car they had was a Toyota Tacoma, a flatbed truck. Grudgingly I took this truck. I started to drive from Vancouver to Seattle.

Within 15 minutes the check engine light came on. For 1/2 hour we called Avis and was told to tighten the gas cap which of course did nothing. Instead of leaving for our vacation in Seattle we took the car back to the rental place.

Long story short the manager gave us a Honda Civic which he was holding for another customer. We waited for one hour to get a car. m. and missed most of our vacation. I really feel Avis owes us a refund for their poor service (don’t they inspect their cars) before they release them.

How to lose a client I have been a long-time client of Avis Car Rental. Since moving to Minnesota 23 years ago, I frequently travel to San Juan, Puerto Rico. Renting from Avis used to be dictated by the fact that the Avis- San Juan, contrary to other car rentals, was open 24 hours, compatible with my typical flights that would arrive around midnight.

In addition to this, as I was satisfied with the service, cars and even prices (especially with Mayo Clinic discount), I would also preferably rent Avis cars in other locations during my travels. On February 13, 2023, I made reservation #05153551US4 for a compact SUV to be picked at the SJU airport on Monday, June 19 at 6:30 pm and returned to the same location on June 30 at 5:00 am.

I reserved a rental car for Winnipeg, Manitoba - reservation #11007763US4 for June 29-July 11th. I received a call from an AVIS representative on June 16th stating that the AVIS location on York Ave would be closing and that they would be moving my reservation to the Winnipeg International airport location on Wellington Ave.

The representative stated that the fare would remain the same. He left a voice mail on June 16 and I spoke with him over the phone to confirm on June 18th. He said I would receive an e-mail confirmation with location changes.

I did a walk-up rental with AVIS at the Chattanooga, TN airport on June 22nd, agreement # 475799741, agent #16757. Although I wanted to rent one-way to the AVIS office in Fredericksburg, VA, the agent insisted he needed an airport code. This didn't sound right to me, but he assured and reassured me I could turn it in at Fredericksburg, so I gave him RIC (Richmond, VA) as my closest airport, 50 miles away. Of course when I tried to return the car to Fredericksburg they had a $500 surcharge for not returning it per the contract.

He also absolutely insisted that your policy is to require insurance for walk-up rentals, even though it says on the contract that insurance is optional. He absolutely refused to rent the car without it. I NEVER opt for insurance, but his car was my only option.…

I had put in a reservation a month and a half ahead of time, I explained to the man who was helping me I needed a minivan because we were going cross country. Imagine my surprise when I went to pick up the vehicle and she looked at me and said we don't have a minivan.

Booked a vehicle online at Waco Regional Airport. The RAV4 had maintenance service required flashing constantly. I went inside told the clerk I wanted another car. I got a Toyota 4 runner. Someone had smoked in not cleaned and I have asthma and oil service required light is on.

I am being charged $700 for a car that i was quoted $199 for. They are claiming it was not clean. There were no spills, stains, animals, smoking or anything. This vehicle was under video surveillance the entire time minus the 6 hr drive.

Dear Avis — I have tried to submit this twice on emails from you about my recent rental. Neither have "seemingly" gone through to you -- so -- hopefully this one will. I reserved a car for a business trip in Alabama, (coming from California); 2 weeks in advance and with this being a business trip a car was needed, as soon as I landed I went to the car rental counter (along with several others from my flight) and they had no car available even though it was reserved well in advance under my so called “preferred “ membership.

According to other customers who were in line with me Avis does this often. I can tell you that I will not rent from Avis again, as I said this is a business trip and now I’m limited on what I came to Alabama to do since they did not provide the service I paid for!

I will NEVER rent from AVIS CAR RENTAL again. They will not correct the error that they made. I paid for a FULL-SIZE truck for a week with my military discount and have me a tiny truck MID SIZE and said they could UPGRADE me to the truck I rented.

I don’t even know where to begin. I am actually still going through it with this electric car that Syracuse international airport gave me without any heads up any option or to tell me that they were giving me an electric car.

A manager had to come in and override it to switch me out into a car that was big enough for me and my family and my luggage which they did, but never told me they were giving me an electric car. I miss my whole vacation memorial day weekend that I worked so hard for I have my two-year-old daughter and my six year old son in the car.

I called about Avis making mandatory insurance for Uber Drivers when the contract states optional. Uber pays for damage to the car while I'm on the Uber app. The manager I'm Avis customer service would not listen to me and cut me off and hung up.

Avis provides the worse customer service I have ever dealt with. They took over the amount they were supposed to charge resulting in an over draft fee, the manager at the seigen lane location would not refund.

I have used Avis on all my business trips . Today I was treated extremely rude by both agents, how's this for a greeting? What do you want? Not a hello , or how can we help you! Then he asked me if I was old enough to even rent a car! Wow, just unbelievable !

They couldn't find my corporate reservation, just a complete hassle, and a waste of my time. Then they put me in a tiny clown car, I'm 6'4 ! Horrible experience! Plus the building stunk like sewage, just a nasty disappointing experience at the Dulles Airport in VA.

Freak team! I rented a car and paid in advance. Then I tried to contact the rental office for 5 days to find out if they accept cash for payment.

I made 39 calls to the Serbian office! 39 times, Carl! Nobody answered me. And then one day before the rental, suddenly someone picks up the phone and says that cash is not accepted.

As a result, I have to cancel my booking and lose 50€, my precious time and nerves.

Charleston airport April 2, 2023. Waited 2 hours for a car (had a reservation). The car was filthy, and the headlights didn’t work. April 3, 2023 back to the airport for another day of waiting for another car that had needs service warning going off the whole time.

Returned the car on April 5, 2023. It was probably the worst experience we’ve ever had with a rental. Should not have to pay for the two wasted days at the airport and the very poor conditions of the cars.

They basically were not safe.

I have been an Avis Preferred customer for a long time. While on business travel to Abilene TX from March 7th until March 16th I had made a rental car reservation using my corporate account. Avis at the airport gave me a 2023 Dodge RAM truck for the time that I was going to be working in the area. On Monday March 13 I had to be at Dyess Air Force Base to support military exercises. I checked my credit card transaction history and noticed that I was charged an additional charge for an upgrade at Avis, that I did not ask for. When I called the (Fort Wayne, IN) Airport location and asked about the charges, I was told it was for an upgrade.

The woman that assisted me (Cathy), asked if I wanted to upgrade but not once did I agree to an upgrade, in fact when she asked did I want one I told her "NO, because it is just me so I don't need an SUV. Shame on AVIS!! I reserved a 12 passenger van 2 months ago!! When we arrived to pick it up this morning, they tried to give us a “similar” van. We were told that the van we reserved was returned yesterday but that the previous renters “flew off with the key in their pocket”.

We asked if they had an extra key…or if they could call someone to get a key made. For both questions we were told “NO”. So, we went to get into the “similar” van but the smell of mold and mildew was overpowering!!

We went back inside and they offered us another “similar” van.

However, that van was not safe to drive. Seriously, once we got to 45 mph the van was going off the road and shimmy and shaking everywhere. So, we turned around and took it back. They had NOTHING to offer at this point. No apologies…NOTHING!!…

I rent from Avis- budget all the time. My company has a contract with them. The branch manager refused to let me a get a car without proof. I left and got my work ID and he still refused to value it.

I went to a different location and they told me I was blocked from renting in other locations until I deal with the airport. The manager was rude .. refused to give me his business card. He raised his voice and he treated me as If i was lying about being employed at the company..

I rented a car on 10/16/2022 form Avis car Rntal in Kent , Washington. This was a state to state rental. My destination was Grand Rapids, Michigan. I had extended the rental a couple of times and spoke with their customer service line.

The schedule I had once in Michigan was not permitting me to make it to Avis during the business hours. I was told if they had to pick it up it would cost $200. I also was told to drop it off and leave akey in the night drop.

My Avis rental broke down on I-10 in rural Florida. Despite numerous calls, Avis did not send a tow truck. After 8 hours of calling and waiting, I had to call AAA for a tow and provide my own ride.

8 hours of waiting and no communication from Avis! I learned later from Avis personnel that this is a common problem for them. I wish I could rate them 0 stars. I recommend strongly that folks should consider any other car rental company.

On February 3, 2023, I arrived at the LAS Airport Car Rental to pick up my car. When I arrived Lisette was the counter representative that assist me. She persisted in giving me the Mitsubishi for some reason and when she asked for my ID and credit card I handed them to her.

When she returned them to me she placed them on the counter, which was hard for me to reach. When I asked her to hand them to me she didn't and told me that she could not hand them to me due to company policy.

The Lori representative next to our section handed his items to him in his hand. Lisette was rude to me and very discriminating. The car I received had dents and scratches and the driver-side carpet had a hole it in below the brake pedal.

I was so upset that I forget to take pictures but if you investigate this…

Reserved a compact car for 1/28/2023 at Port Canaveral for 10:30. Arrived at AVIS site via overpacked shuttle. We arrived and the line for reservations extended out the door. We waiting in this line for over 45 minutes only to be told there were no cars available. We waited an additional hour for a vehicle, which was a SUV. This resulted in increase gas charges as Suv's use more gas than compact cars.

This 2 hour delay resulted in missing an engagement with friends, increasing anxiety and frustration for something that should have been simple and easy!

I am requesting compensation for this frustrating, time consuming and miserable experience.

U guys are the worst company ever… Due to the chip on my card malfunctioning I wasn’t able to rent a car and was told I would get a refund within 3-5 days from the day I was trying to rent the car.. it has been over a month and still not have received my refund.

Should have never booked with u guys if I had known it was going to be such a hassle and difficult to get a refund that is due to me without a doubt and the fact that it has taken a month for me to get my money back and to keep getting the run around being told 3-5 days each time I talk to one of ur associates whenever I call the number or talk to corporate as they claim and

to be given an excuse after excuse as to why I haven’t gotten my money back is beyond frustrating and the fact it’s now a month and half and still not…

I reserved a car on 1-13-2023 for the weekend and returning on Sunday . When I arrived I was informed that they had no vehicles avaiable they waited till I arrived at the location to inform me of that information .

It was at the Avis Independent Operator 1360 Dogwood Drive Conyers GA 30013. I made this reservation the week before that was bad business . I had planed a weekend trip and to get there and there was no car and the staff stated that I would have to call Customer service and see if other location had cars.

I will never rent from AVIS again. The staff was rude and no help . I will tell all of my friend not to rent from AVIS

My executive lost his eyeglasses in one of your rental cars out of Houston Hobby airport, on Friday, Jan. 13, 2023. He has filled out the lost claim form. I have now spent the last 10 minutes on hold for the lost and found customer service. This is now my third time calling in. I cannot get anyone to answer a phone at all.

These eyeglasses are prescription, so he would like to get them back. He travels to Houston a lot. I have tried to call the location Avis center there at Hobby airport; again, for 15 minutes no one answered the phone.

I have even tried your main customer service. My issue is that he did fill out a lost claim form, and has his reference number. All it says for status is that it was sent to Hobby. I have tried looking at the list of recently found objects....it is not up…

I booked an Avis car on Dec/17 with reservation number 44076479US6. I got the car around 9pm in Denver airport.

After I drove out the car in around 5 minutes, I got a flat tire on a highway, I managed to pull over on the roadside, called Avis emergency services. Someone told me they got the location, and looking for a vendor, and told me to wait for a message update.

That was a very cold winter, I waited for one hour, no update or message, I called back. Then I was told they are looking for a tow vendor, and let me keep waiting. Then I wait, wait, wait, no one called me with any update. I waited to midnight, called back again. Some one told me Avis had hard time to find a tow vendor. Then I asked if I could take a uber to hotel, and leave the car on the road, the representative agreed. I…

I was denied a rental car after prepayment ! Another customer was allowed to skip the line to have her contract corrected ! I asked why was she being allowed to skip the employee began making smart comments like it took 2 seconds I said it took almost 5 minutes the employee responded clearly you don’t know what 2 minutes is!

I called him stupid and asked him to stop talking to me since he was not helping me ! He refused to stop went and got the manager who refused to look at the tape to verify the employee verbally attacking me!

I apologized for calling him stupid but was still denied the rental car which was prepaid! The manger stated “ I DONT CARE THAT IT WAS PREPAID YOU ARE NOT GETTING A CAR AND CALL WHO YOU WANT TO CALL!

Called ahead to say my flight was late. Arrived and they had cancelled my car, and tried to remnt m,e a car at the walk-up rate at twice the cost. Denied I had called. Got a car. Dropped off 12n hours early (late night, early flight the next day) and when I got the final bill it was more than 6-- dollars more than the original. They said because I dropped off early it switched to the daily rate. Rubbish.

Have tried working with Avis through this and I get nothing.
