Expedia is a horrendous company to work with. If you ever try to contact their customer service department, it will take at least 3 hours because every question you ask, you get put on hold for at least 10 minutes.

They then come back with none of your questions answered. I was unable to use my flight credit through the website for some reason and despite seeing over 11 flights at a certain price, they would only offer me flights at $1,200 over the price of the ticket online.

I was on hold for over 3 hours and still could not speak to a manager or have my questions answered. And I still haven't been able to use my credit that was given over 3 years ago due to a GLOBAL PANDEMIC.

They refuse to issue me a refund and they want me to just have $5,000 in credit go to waste. I am beyond…

I booked (2) British Airlines business class tkts through Expedia in Oct 2019 for travel May/June 2020. Flights were canceled in May due to COVID. Expedia emailed May 11. 2020 re: canceled flights and notified us we received a full credit.

In March 2022 called to book same flight using credits (2 hour call) . I had verified the BA rate and Expedia rate for the flights prior to call- approximately $3200 each. The agent secured the flight and proceeded to quote $13,894 in addition to the $6072 credit to book the new flight.

(Over $9,000 for each flight) . I purchased new tickets from travel agent, and requested a refund instead of a flight credit. After 4 months I had not received a refund. I tried again to book travel in August 2022.

Hello, I contacted Expedia my reservation on the 16th, then on the 17th, then I finally after 1 hour hold, talk to Expedia rep on the 18th, informed him that I tried canceling online, virtual agent could not verify rules. Agent informed me that I was within free cancellation.

He tried calling hotel, could not get hold of anyone. He said he will send a message to customer support, he informed me that he documented the record that he couldn’t get hold of agent to cancel and few times repeated that I will get my full refund.

I had spend past few weeks trying to explain to your representative that I needed full refund, you need to give me full refund as I was informed. As you record all the phone calls please listen to our conversation.

I booked a flight from Cody to Boston on May 28. The date was confirmed by Expedia. On May 28 i found that the flight is on May 30 (on UNITED air lines site). I had to make a lot of phone calls to get a change back to May 28. This cost me $805.

I rented a two cars via Expedia. The first car I had a $500 hold on my card because I picked up using a debit card instead of a credit card. It was never noted even in fine print that a major credit card was needed or a $500 hold would be put on your debit card.

I checked with the next rental car service and was told no debit card would be accepted. I can only pick up the car with a major credit card. I can't cancel. I can't even transfer the funds I paid to another rental.

When I tried I was told to cancel with the rental company. The rental company told me to cancel with Expedia. Expedia finally agreed to look into it and told me my reasoning for canceling was not enough to give me a refund.

I made a reservation for 2 adults and 2 children (5 and 9) and when I arrived to the hotel I had to pay 700 dls because Expedia made the reservation for 2 adults and 2 babies. I spent more than four hours trying to communicate with Expedia and found a solution.

I booked a reservation through Expedia for Howard Johnson in St Joseph/Benton Harbor. The day that I was supposed to arrive, early morning I got a call and had a family emergency. I contacted hotel to cancel and they said I would have to go through Expedia.

So I started contacting Expedia. They told me it had to be cancelled 24 hour notice but with circumstances I could talk with hotel and they might not charge me due to circumstances. I was charged by hotel and they want refund my money.

I originally made a reservation at the Woodlands Resort in TX from Jun 15-19 a regular room with Breakfast included. I then got on and added 2 more days, $1064 extra for 2 nights because my original room was not available the gentleman confirmed the booking including my breakfast.

I purchased a luxury car to be picked up at Charlotte airport, 5/26. Upon arrival, they asked for my credit card which I did not have. I showed the email that tells you what documents to bring and credit card was not listed.

So, in order to get the car, we had to rebook under my BF's name. I was told to cancel the current reservation and I would get a refund since we booked the exact same car, just under a different name.

Where do I start??!! My most recent experience booking travel through Expedia has been an absolute nightmare. It's too time consuming and frustrating to go into detail, but suffice to say that I was not notified of flight changes-- I had to figure those out for myself.

Then when I went to reschedule, Expedia made major errors, which I also had to find out about and fix on my own. For simple seat assignments, I was redirected to the wrong airline. And getting a live customer service rep on the phone was next to impossible due to the myriad phone prompts, and once I did, although he tried to be helpful, I could barely understand him and the noise in the background was almost deafening.

Booked a Hotel in Monterey, and upon arrival the clerk was very rude when I asked if I could use the restroom. She stated they had no restroom for their customers to use. I believe that I racially discriminated against and Expedia would not refund my money after explaining what happened.

It has been nearly half the year since Expedia collected $235.00 from me on the promise of a First Class ticket on Air India. Upon arrival at the airport, the airline personnel advised me that the aircraft has only one cabin, and because they could not offer the premium cabin, I will be charged the economy fare, which was $37 at the time of booking. Air India personnel said they will refund the money to Expedia within two weeks maximum.

My biggest complaint is that the people at your call center do not speak English very well and talk too fast.

I got routed to Mumbai, not only was the English hard to understand, the call center was so loud I could barely hear the person I was talking with.

It sounded like the same call center type that is used for the IRS and Microsoft scams.

The rep I was talking to while trying to change part of my girlfriend's portion of our trip misstated the pricing.

The trip to San Jose Del Cabo was for July 19 - 27. My co-traveler had a mandatory work meeting that made her have to change her outbound date to July 22nd. Thank you. In April 2020, my best friend, 10-year old daughter and I were booked on an American Airlines round trip ticket from LAX to Raleigh, NC for my little cousins wedding. We purchased our tickets through Expedia for $337.80 per ticket.

Unfortunately, Covid19 shot down the entire country, their wedding was canceled, our plans had to change for fear of getting sick ourselves or exposing my elder parents to Covid19.

I made every attempt to reach out to both Expedia and American Airlines with no response for the first 2 or 3 weeks after the cancellation. I finally received an email from Expedia saying that all canceled flights or non-used flights would be good for 6 months, than it changed to 1 year.

Our flight for 3 tickets valued at $3400 was canceled due to Covid 19 over 2 1/2 years ago ( three years in August)

We have contacted Expedia 11 times. We have waited on the phone for over an hour each time.

3 Times Expedia assured us they would REFUND OUR MONEY. WE HAVE AN EMAIL IN WRITING AS WELL AS 3 RECORDED PHONE CALLS. THEY HAVE NOT GIVEN US ANYTHING BUT THE RUNAROUND.

I made a trip to Jamaica on May7, 2022 and made a reservation through Expedia to stay at Marley Manor, 6 Marley Road, Kingston, Jamaica from May 7 -May 11, 2022. 64, and the amount charged to my PayPal account.

I booked six flights for our family through Expedia and received a confirmation email. A couple hours later I received another email that our flights are now unconfirmed but if we rebooked the same itinerary and there is an increase in price they would pay the difference.

I reserved three rooms at Quality Inn in Hudsonville, Michigan (Itinerary numbers: 72240570881427 and 72240575127486). I knew i was going to be in after midnight and I called the Hotel to discuss this. An absolute dumpster fire of a company when it comes to customer service. We made a guest happy, went out of our way to literally pay for their room due to a technical error that overbooked the hotel, and Expedia maintains the guest didn't get what they expected and docked us almost 20% on guest experience penalty because...the guest was absolutely stoked and got a free room from a hotel just steps away. Good for booking and generating OTA income, brace yourself for terrible experiences on the phone with "customer service" - if you can call it that.

Terrible service... I purchase a United flight from Expedia which included assigned sitting that's why I payed $100 more. When I when to assign the sits it told me that it was already assign for me and I need to pay extra if I want to change it.

Expedia is a scam along with their insurance AIG, everything is a lie and they do not try to help you, everything is outsourced so no one understands you, they tell you to cancel by a certain date, but how can you cancel something that doesn't exist yet. They pass the buck to the hotel and vice versa, if you need to book anything, I would go through the hotel, car rental anywhere but Expedia.

I booked my son’s flight reiterating that he’s only 17 and wants the easiest flight possible. They keep on telling me that the only available one has 13hours layover in AU. As a mum who doesn’t frequently fly and it’s my son’s first time to do overseas travel, we are not aware pf the requirements. Expedia didn’t even inform us that a transit visa is required. I booked a car in Quito for an advertised price of CAD$107 and ended up being charged the amount of CAD$220. Expedia is trying to blame it on the car rental company but they should take responsibility for advertising an incorrect price on the website without any mention of some unexpected mandatory fees including limited mileage (contrary to what was advertised). I’d give them a 0 if I could. Expedia is a fraud. They lied about a hotel rejecting our refund request, spoke to the hotel multiple times and they said Expedia never contacted them regarding a refund. The hotel approved our request but Expedia still lied multiple times about it being rejected.

What should’ve taken a couple days took over 4 weeks to get resolved. Now that i am trying to use my airline credit, they are claiming they can’t see credits on their end. This is after the person on the phone confirmed the credits airline, passengers, and destination.

Booked and paid for a flight from BCN to DUB months ago with full confirmation. Now two months out from my trip I find out that connecting leg 1 of a two leg journey to Dublin has been “canceled”( flight LX1953).

5 hours on the phone in broken English with the first agent, I was simply left on the phone and eventually with no music or anything playing I had to hang up. 5hours with another agent in broken English. I was first told that LX1953 was canceled but, after 3 hours on the phone and checking myself, I was able to discover that Swiss Air did not really cancel the flight but rather moved departure 5 minutes which resulted in automatic cancelation of ticket!

1. Booked my flight thru their portal on 17 Apr 2022. I received email notification regarding the booking Itinerary no. 77287759707082.

I have just experienced the worst travel booking experience through Expedia. I travel a lot and this is the first time I used Expedia and it is definitely my last. Expedia made a big mistake and then would not help me at all nor fix it.

Expedia emailed me that my flights were cancelled. I chatted with an agent on Expedia and they said it was an error in the system and they fixed it. The next day I receive the same type of email that my flight was cancelled again.

I called Expedia again and this time the woman said that she need to get me on a new flight so she did. The new flight added a 7 hour layover and I get to my destination 6 hours later than I need to.

Made arrangements for a May trip to Italy via Expedia ( our first out-of-country trip experience). Called on March 14 to change our itinerary to come back on a flight from Rome instead of Milan. I was charged $97 to make the change, and my card was charged.

It is April and my itinerary still has us flying out of Milan to return to the US. Ive called numerous times and I was finally told on March 20th that there would be an investigation to see if it was due to agent error.

I never heard back, so I must assume it was... Im on the phone now with another agent to try again to get this fixed. Then we can discuss why, when I requested my stay in Sala Comacina to be shortened by days, I was told it had been done, but no refund has been made on my account .

We went to book a room through Expedia, when I went to confirm the dates were bumped out for 4/28-4/29 and I was trying to get an overnight stay for 4/14-4/15 l. Tried to see if we could change the dates or receive a refund and they told us it would be up to the hotel.

We call the hotel and they stated we had to go thru Expedia they were the ones that took our money. So after several phone calls of getting the run around, we have gave up on getting our money back.

I would give it zero stars if I could poor CS and no direct answer
