Rented a car from Ace in Ontario Ca on Jaanuary 14 2020. Here is a summary of what was wrong with Ace;

1) rental facility was not with other rentals companies but in a hotel several miles away 2) There were 1 1/2 clerks working midday. I was 8th in a line of 9. Took two hours to be waited on 3) I reserved a compact Kia, but was given a huge Ford Expedition with 60,000 miles. $150 deposit even though they had already pre-billed my card. 4) Took another hour to actually get my car--they had run out of cars! 5) I had an early flight but they had no way to drop off keys before they opened--nothing like a drop box.

Why does Hotwire list them with other reliable rental companies?

I recently was reviewing my banking and noticed a $301 charge to my account From Hotwire. I didn’t make. My bank said it was too long ago for them to help. I contacted Hotwire and they kept telling me to call a number a message.

I did several times and they never contacted me. This website has no protection. Be careful because of they somehow take your funds Without your convent they will not refund no matter what. I would never use this site for any of my travel needs!!

Hello,

I booked Embassy Suites Montreal in Montreal, Canada via Howrire on May 19th. The Hotwire confirmation number is 5835466297. The payment was made and withdrawn from my bank account. However, when checking in the hotel, I found that the reservation was cancelled without no reason. Still, they got a total amount of $821.28 from my account, I had to lodge in another hotel. At that most, most of the hotels nearby were full. So I had no choice but to stay in a room with an extra price. But the hotel and Hotwire insisted that I did not show up. I need a help about it.

I called Hotwire was given run around by ur agent with no solution.. I had to Uber to my hotel which inquired cost and Uber back in the am I don’t plan to use hot wire again I was stranded with my family at the airport with no solution

This is by far the WORST experience and service I EVER received! I came in on a business trip and booked a rental for a car (ENTERPRISE) hobby airport for 7 days and when I put in my location they suggested I go to Hobby Airport and I was coming in from Bush Airport and I just seen a great deal and I booked not knowing I was going to face the worst outcome. I drove to Hobby and just to be told where’s my flight itinerary and they denied me because I wasn’t flying into Hobby instead of transferring me to Bush I had to get a refund and now I’m without a car! Worst experience! Never booking with Hotwire and I’ll make sure my company don’t support this company either !

Hello as you can see I paid for my reservation and got my confirmation letter, which is a legal document.

However the hotel doesn’t have my reservation and they are booked. I have used hotwire for years and have studied the hotels to make the right choice, I have a function across the street from this hotel which would have been very nice.

I have talked to 5 supervisors and 7 phone and no body calls me back as promised regarding my refund, before I file a police report on fraud today and before I open a blog to see if this has happen to any else I wanted to give your company this last opportunity to resolve my refund immediately.. I booked a vacation package and purchased the travel protection. When I called to cancel, I was notified that I had a 1600 dollar airfare credit with American Airlines as I purchased the travel waiver. I called this morning and was notified that that was not the case and I had to use it towards the original place I was going to.

This was not the information that I was provided with and I would strongly like some kind of adjustment. I know what was explained to me on the phone during the cancellation and that was not it

I spoke with Bobby today regarding my experience with Payless Car Rental. 15 for one day. When I went to the counter at the airport, I specifically told the guy that I did not need any insurance coverage. He then said there wasn't a economy car available and asked if I was okay with a minivan. I said fine.

He folded up the agreement and I went downstairs and found the vehicle and drove away. The next day when I went to add a day, I noticed he had added the insurance without my consent. ' I have dealt with Thrifty, Hertz and Enterprise through Hotwire and have never experienced such a bush league experience.

My Hotwire itinerary number is 4318923167. After reading the Yelp reviews for these unprofessional rental car guys, I will not be using Payless EVER again.

my daughter suggested I use the service. When I rented the car for 12 days out of Las Vegas from Ace car rentals I understood that the $328 I paid in advance was it and I had the option of additional insurance for $9/day.

When we got to the rental agency I was advised that I had to pay an additional $15/day for mandatory insurance. As I absolutely hate surprises... I argued with the agent but had no recourse but to pay the bill and take the car.

I have rented hundreds of cars over my 40+ year career and never had to deal with this situation. I definitely will never use Ace again, and I would be very cautious using Hotwire ever again. Sincerely, Brad Cooper

I traveled from Omaha Ne with my husban who is 6ft 3in tall along with my 2 sisters to bury our grandfather. My hotel was booked at Best Western Inn at Russellville, AR for Oct 18, 2019 check out Oct 19,2019. My itinerary #7486171503863.

Upon arrival to the hotel I was informed that they were all sold out of rooms and did not have reservation for me and my family. I immediately called Hot Wire to tell them what was going on. Your agent Elmer called over to speak with the front desk at the hotel where the gentleman explained they had been sold out of rooms since around 3pm that afternoon.

So Elmer canceled the reversation and came back on the line to tell me I would need to get another hotel. The room that I booked had King bed for my husband and myself and 2 Queen beds for my sisters.…

Hotwire owes me $72:43for taxes on a digital phone service that was cancelled. This issue is ongoing I had my bank block so they could not longer take out. I have been calling them since Nov 2018 with no results.

00 service call the problem was with their equipment they added an additional piece of equipment. 00 from what they owe me and a remainder credit of 22 plus is on the account. They won’t connect me to a supervisor and this is a disaster. Can u please help.

Ace Rental cars at LAX were incredibly rude told me my car was cancelled as I Was 2 hrs late arriving even though id paid upfront and the car was parked outside the office the whole time. Were challenging me on my personal insurance info and were completely aggressive trying to extort higher rates from me. I couldnt help being late and i had paid for the car completely unacceptable

My complaint is how can a company make a booking and in less than an hour of the booking, I had no option of changing or getting a refund. I found out when trying to cancel that there were no refunds or changes and now I'm supposed to just be happy with "losing" over $600.

I am making reservation for my 15 year old son and had to call hotwire numerous times and be on hold for an eternity — the 2 hot-wire reps said they cannot do it IRIS, AUDREY... they had 0 ideas that on ur website it says i can most def make a reservation for not just a 15 year old but 14 and under even ! I changed the currency online from USD to CAD and I was still charged in USD. I only used Hotwire because I saw the prices were lower than other websites and that was the reason why I booked from there.

On September 14, 2019, I made an online car rental reservation (#4132276277). Upon receiving the confirmation email, I noticed that the pickup and drop off times in the reservation were not the ones I had selected. I called customer service for assistance.

I was informed that because of the deal I had selected, no changes could be made to the reservation. I requested to speak to a manager and was transferred to Ms. Hazel, a supervisor. This woman was so nasty and inflexible.

8. I booked it. I arrived almost in horror. 5 at most. Many transient type people standing around. The office had 4-5 people standing around. The area is very run down. I dont think the walls have seen paint in over 20 years.

People that travel expect me to get a fair rating on the hotel they are staying in. EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED in hotwire rating. Makes me think twice next time I book a hotel if . I will use your company. Does anyone from hotwire inspect these hotels?

I went to check in to my hotel at 1:30 am Saturday, and was supposed to have two room (two families) and they never booked the second room. I had to get my phone to prove to them I booked two rooms!

Waited for 35 minutes for them to figure out what to do. They shoves two families into a suite. If i wanted a suite I would of booked one! What a disappointing trip

I prepaid and rented a vechicle for 7 passenger. I went to Ace company and was given a compact vehicle and was told if I didn't like it I could go back to the airport to get another company. How can I do so with your company saying no refunds.

I did talk to someone at Hotwire that told me Ace was closed when they called. This cost more money as our group had to purchase another rental. I was told I could have a 25 percent credit after I turn in the vehicle to be used on my next booking with Hotwire, Are you kidding?

I never wanted a compact car!!! I was question about who my insurance carrier was after I declined there insurance along with the low pressure light was on when I was given the car but I only inspected the outside of the car.

Booked a car rental at the Philadelphia airport through Hotwire for Budget car rental. Booking Id 3411153327. When i got to the Airport rental place I was told that Hotwire didn’t direct me to the correct requested booking place. I was forced to book that day with additional charges.

Hotwire needs to book the best price for the correct location of pick up. When i got home i went on to the website to see if this was a user error or a hotwire error. Again i typed the specific information and got near airport options.

Not knowing the area I would have to google the address of the airport to know that there is another pick up location that isn’t at the airport. Terrible experience that cost me over $100 of additional fees.

Hotwire uses bait and switch when you book with them. They said I was guaranteed to receive my car rental from Enterprise Alamo National Hertz Dollar Budget. When I went to book car rental they gave me Advantage. I called them to mention that advantage was not advertise in my five guaranteed car rentals companies.

They did a bait and switch on me advantage and they refused to switch me to one of the other car rental companies. In which they advised I was guaranteed in their online listing. I reviewed advantage and their customer reviews had so many negative complaints against the company.

I didn’t feel safe using them for my family trip. Hotwire refuses to issue me a refund or switch me to one of the other rental company that they guaranteed I would get. I will never use Hotwire ever…

Terrible customer service, hidden fees that upped the cost of the hotel I booked $70 and refused to help in anyway when I asked to cancel due to the hotel cost being out of my budget after the unexpected extra fees. Absolutely nothing was done to remedy the situation.

I would never use them again. Terrible customer service and deceptive in the ways in which they display the breakdown of costs.

They don’t even deserve one star!!!!! I was PROMISED a $50 off my next booking but never received anything. I called customer service and they said there was no notation on the account. I’m extremely unsatisfied with the service I got.

I booked a hotel and paid in full days before leaving. including a stage 4 cancer mother who was tired from the day and needed some rest. I get to the hotel and the manager said he didn’t have enough rooms for us even though we paid in full and paid for two rooms for four guests.

I got to the hotel to check in and had to wait a very long time on the account of my virtual card authorization was not sent over. The agent informed me that if I wanted compensation there was nothing that she could do about me having to wait.

The card usually takes up to 24 hours to be sent over. I asked to speak to a supervisor when the lady got on the phone she told me the same. I am highly upset for the inconvenience that this caused me today on hotwire.

I have been a valued customer for a long time now.

Also I would like some type of hot bucks for the inconvenience.

This is a complaint for the rental car company Advantage rent a car. I booked the rental car for July 5th-July 7th ( confirmation number 4283936757 ). I got into an accident and was at the rental location the next day telling them about going to the tow yard to recover my car.

The rental car company still hasn't been able to verify the location of my car and kept charging me by the day with a high rate. Please help me investigate the issue.

I have a big problem. I made my reservation and the hotel is not finding my reservation. The payment has been made. We are in NY for enjoying 3 days and they create this problem for us.

I arrived in the Hotel when it was 1 am and the hotel did not allow me to do the check in. It’s ridiculous.

I paid twice for the same things. I called 9 times for the costume service.

I searched for Narragansett Rhode Island hotels. 5 star hotel in the Narragansett area. It ended up booking me far away in Providence. This is false advertising and illegal! When I called they refused to find me a hotel within that areas and price. I am very upset.

On or about May 12, 2019 I purchased two tickets from Dallas to Milwaukee. I was due to travel May 16, 2019 for a funeral. I didn’t realize the first reservation completed due to my browser freezing, so I opened a new browser and tried to complete the transaction a second time.

I was rudely handled by one of the managers at Hotwire. His name is Daniel Cormen. I was on a call with him on Friday July 12 @ 2:42PM for approximately 12 minutes. This was the far the worst customer service I have ever experienced in my entire life. I was DOUBLE CHARGE for a car rental and I was simply trying to get my refund. Going on vacation, tried to book hotels on hotwire as I did many times before with no issues in Orlado Fl. Found rooms tried to book and they said this reservation is no longer available. 20 but the reservations was never confirmed.

Called bank and they said it was on a 5 day hold and if hotwire sends a letter of cancellation then they can lift the hold sooner. Spoke to several customer reps and no one could help they stated it was all on the bank.

Mother spoke to Rep today and explained the frustration and aggravation of not being able to book a hotel until the hold is lifted next Monday and we go on vacation on Friday. Not fair that now we cannot get the better deals for rooms because of this.

This complaint is more so with the Sun Country Airline then with Hotwire. On July 7th 2019, I was on my returned flight from Dallas Ft. Worth and going to Las Vegas. My seat was 10E which was the middle seat.

The gentle who sat in the 10F next to me by the window was over 400 pds. I really didn't have seat. I did not want to be rude, but this was a bit much to be seating on a plane for 2 1/2 housr between 2 people.

The gentleman who sat in the 10D was not overweight.

However, 10F took almost 2 seats. I think Sun Country should have weight requirements. Fortunetly, I asked the flight attendant were there any vacant seats available because I really didn't have a seat. And they did.

I booked a blind deal last night that I was pretty sure was the hotel I wanted to be at. There were three booking options 1. hotel chooses bed type (guaranteed to sleep the size of party you booked) 2. One queen bed 3. Two queen beds.

All three choices were the exact same price so I chose hotel chooses because I know that this hotel has many several different types of bed configurations and it said it was guaranteed to sleep my party size. After booking I looked at the confirmation and it said 1 Queen bed which was clearly not what I chose.

I booked a car and was not able to pick up the car so I ended up booking another car with them. I waited for my refund on the first car and it never came. When I called they notified me that it was a hot rate deal and the fine print said it was nonrefundable and no changes can be made.

Even though I have called Hotwire before and made changes to this kind of rental. After I realized I couldn’t pick up the car I still went ahead and rented another car through them immediately. When I called to ask about the refund they stated that no refund could be granted...

Hotwire is a scam. 56, when I got to the hotel they told me they havent had rooms with two beds in months and there was only 1 room with 1 bed available. 80 for that night and my daughter slept on the floor.

After several collective hours and many unhelpful customer service people, one person agreed I would get a refund of $138, but then left me on hold for 18 mins to "note the account" Ofcourse she was to return with the confirmation number and the call was disconnected and she never called back.

7 days later, no refund, I called yet again- and was told I'd only get a refund for $93 & a "hotdollar credit" for $45. That is totally unacceptable, not what was agreed upon after being hung up on and lied to several times- I'm never using their service again, why would I accept $45 in credit…

I made a reservation and was not aware that I Was going to be charged right away. They charged me causing my bank to overdraft. When i called to ask to cancel, I was told that They couldn't cancel. Thats a bit crazy to me.

If i hadn't been charged right away I would have still wanted to do business with hotwire but the inconsiderable staff there wouldnt help me not even the supervisor. Its like this company can give no care in the world for the first time users and there inconveniences they caused me.

I will NEVER do any business with hotwire. I will always recommend another third party company to anyone I come across who are looking to do business with them. I travel at least twice a year and I always rent a car.

I got a " hotdeal"through you with Ace in Sacramento. My whole experience ; flew in got on a shuttle to rental car place, had to call Ace to pick me up from the rental car place. I was told they have no shuttle that day and to take Lyft.

I told them that I was told you have shuttle they said wait and we will try to get someone to get you. Hour passes, I tried to call several times just to have someone pick up then hang up the phone.

Finally I decided to Uber. I now have to take a shuttle back to the airport because Uber can't come to the rental place, walk to the u er loading and go to Ace. Now. Ace is not Airport rental, it is 20 minutes away.

I get there, I have to do a walk around inspection, do that turn in the form, get ready to leave and decided to get a copy of the form. I ask…

This morning I was confirming my car rental reservations for my upcoming San Diego trip and could not locate the reservation in my email. I then thought I had not made a reservation and so I booked a car. After the booking, I somehow located the earlier reservation completed on 3/17 for the same dates. 34 made today.

09)" to book several car reservations at Fort Lauderdale Airport in Florida since Tuesday, June 4, 2019. We tried numerous times over a 4 hour period without success so we called customer service and asked for assistance. We spoke with a representative who identified himself as Mike.

He tried to book the reservation numerous times using different browsers and systems for approximately 40 minutes before telling us to try again the next day. We asked for a supervisor because "Mike" was frustrated and we thought someone higher may have more knowledge.
