I joined the White Plains NYSC, since it is nearby, about four days ago . I have a shoulder injury so I am basically limited to using the bikes.

When I registered, there were six bikes on the main floor, and I informed Kevin at the the NYSC front desk that I would be using the bikes primarily. Well, the bikes have been broken; the calibration does not work and the programming was last renewed two months ago. Refer to photo below. There are six bikes that are broken. Gee who works at the gym stated that he has to call corporate because the cost to renew the subscription is 250 dollars per month. The bikes have been broken for two months.

Today, I met with Kevin at the front desk and informed him that if this is not fixed in a week, I was mislead and I will be cancelling my contract.…

Hi, My coworker and I were interested in joining the NYC Club near our work in Carmel NY, we decided to stop by after work but the Staff wouldn't give us any information or say hello until we scan the code reader , I try to do it, but I was asked for email address and credit card # I didn't like it so I said that we just wanted to know how much it was for the month.

, so my friend decided to try scanning the code reader and then she was asked for her email phone#, address and her license, she said why do you want my license and got the same answer as me, we can give any information without it. Then this staff goes and make a copy of my friend driver license without asking and when my friend said why did you took a copy of my license I don't like that.

I joined NY Sports for my family and bought three personal training session packages for my daughter. I was never told that these sessions would expire if not used in 4 weeks. When my young daughter, who had no idea how to work out, tried to make her training appointments, she was rudely told they had expired.

She did not use the training sessions and as a result, did not work out. I want a full refund for the three personal training sessions and her membership since she was never adequately acclimated to the gym. I also want a refund for my husband and me because of the nasty way we were all treated we felt uncomfortable as we were rudely spoken to by the African American woman employee.

I referred a brand new member who I train to join a few months after me. She received the $47 rate (had never been a member), I explained we'd both leave if I don't get the same rate, they assured me this change would happen, for 2 months I reminded the front desk and

emailed management because "they forgot", "corporate pushed back", "manager wasn't in today". Then they paused my membership for 2 months to make up for their error. Now it's back at ~$75, the "new manager", Israel Chaparro, doesn't have the ability to honor what I've been told for 4 months, and the gym is still a dump, weights are usually left lying on the floor, floor never get cleaned, whatever touches the floor is smudged black, half the barbells leave rust stains.

I joined NYSC a year ago after years of membership at NYHealth&Racquet club, since they closed.

Current management is terrible. Air Conditioner keeps breaking--its takes days before a repair guy shows and immediately breaks down again. Its been 3/4 weeks of hot humid classes on the 3rd floor gym classes . The rest of the gym is cold!!!!

You replaced weights with new ones but Ligher weights are so limited--everyone grabs the few leaving no supply for others. We need more lighter weights for seniors. We need MORE 3's, 5's, 7's and 8's for certain exercises before using the higher weights which there are plenty of 10's 12's and up.

I would like a rebate for the last few weeks. A free month is fine. Please step up and make paying customers feel like you care!!!!

I get a corporate discount and the contact person was Melynda Blake. I initially reached out via email which was the only form provided on 6/6. Melynda forwarded my information to Dzennifer Atayan. I requested pricing and membership information for myself, my husband and my son.

After a few days, I received a response and I responded back with the information that I was asked for. I provided my credit card number, my information. my husbands info and my sons. The person activated my membership but not my husbands and sons despite already having the information.

The womens room sauna and steam room has not worked at the 73rd St., West gym since they reopen for about a year an a half. Yet the men’s room sonic and steam room works? it is so inconvenient and it doesn’t seem like anyone really want to do anything about it.

Left my NorthFace Denali fleece on hanger. Called and was told it would be held at the front desk. Went to retrieve it next day and was was GONE. Have been a NYSC member for over 25 years. Replacement for this fleece is $278.

On Friday 12/03/2021 I had a very unpleasant verbal exchange with an employee that escalated into a huge argument at the 125th. St. Harlem location. Before I could talk to anyone and complain about it. I was banned and then contacted by a manager named Christy who informed me that I was banned for threatening said employee.

Although I I may argue, I never threaten anyone. So I told her that the employee lied. She told me that 6 witnesses said that I threatened him as well. NOT TRUE..!! But if 6 people were willing to support this lie, than they really must like this employee or dislike me.

Either way, it really saddens me that after 8 years of membership, I won’t be returning to my favorite club location.

However, I would like to clear my name of these allegations.

I was harassed by the general manger at The Hawthorne location. He bothered my multiple times to ask me if I am vaccinated and to wear a mask. Then we spoke I was frustrated and cursed not at him and he kicked me out of the gym.

New York sports club is doing some thing suspect with my credit card and my monthly charges. I have called and emailed to get someone’s attention and give them the opportunity to fix it, and nobody will call me back.

They are putting charges on my card that are not approved by me. Do not sign up with this health club! I wouldn’t trust them with any personal infuriation!

I had been dealing with a previous manager Shanitra Brinson. I was informed she was no longer there, and a manger in training Danielle picked up my call. This person used my medical information given because I had to have a freeze on my account, in a derogatory and discriminative manner then hung up on me.

I called and spoke to another Manager Corey who refused to help and actually threatened me. I expect this to be handled or I will be filing a discrimination lawsuit as well as an aggravated harassment suit against the manager Corey.

No one at this club seems to know what’s going on. They have a revolving door of managers. If you even question them, you are hung up on or threatened.

This morning my wife had a troubling experience and it is beyond upsetting. And if you mess with me, my wife or daughter, you’ll quickly find out “I’m not the one.”

A little background: my wife suffers from a condition called hypoglycemia, low blood sugar. This has caused her to have two seizures, the last one this past January 6 at my best friend’s wife’s wake service. One effect of this condition is that it causes her to often have memory loss and forgetfulness. It is something that’s quite obviously upsetting to her and I.

They raise your membership without any warning and when you cancel the membership they wont refund you the yearly renewal fee either they just charged. I see why I was warned not to join this Club and why so many leave it now. Poor Business practices.

Saddest part its the worst gym ever at atlas park Glendale. All outdated equipment. Drains in the showers over flow daily. At least the staff was always nice and welcoming. Welcome to NY. It is what it is.

My husband (Stephen Pekar) and I have been long-term customers of NYSC (Forest Hills location) and need to bring to your attention the dangerous conditions under which we (students and instructors) are taking/teaching classes in Studio 1. You will find attached just three of the pics I took on Friday, October 4, 2019, during the yoga evening class.

We ended up sweeping the floor before class, so we wasted precious time, in order to be able to lay on our yoga matts. There was debris and gravel all over the place -- it was scary, as you can see. I got a 5 day free trial of NYSC Sunnyside , this free trial expires today.

I went to the club last Sunday for the first time . And yesterday I went to the club again , but the manager refused to let me in and being extremely rude to me . (The manager was in the front desk and I didn’t know he was manager at the beginning , his name is David Vasquez)

He said u can only use the gym for one time for free , then u need to have a membership . I try to explain the meaning of 5-day trial , but he claims 5 day trial is a commercial thing .

While t I did get a call from GM identified, I was literally being discharged from Nyack Hospital following surgery and directed the manager to reply in writing. Went into to club today to make a complaint about clients of club are coming up to the roof partying and invading our privacy with their perverted acts of looking directly in our bedroom and bathroom windows.

Also they are smoking pot and cigarettes and loud on their phones. I went into Club and Mitchell manager there was told the complaint. He was a racist and a misogynist who was nasty and lied deliberately to me. He said he would send someone up to close the doors but he did not.

My attorney told me that the roof doors of the club are to be closed at all times except when work is being done. After I got home I called the club to tell Mitchell the doors were still open but he refused the call.

Mitchell should be dismissed from the club for lying he also said as a threatening gesture…

I've been promised 2 free months at sign up (by Sidney). I was charged every month anyway. I addressed my issue to the front desk staff and to the manager, Josh Levi, several times, and every time I was promised a refund.

I've submitted my complaint online. Never heard back. It's getting ridiculous. The manager just ignores my requests. It cannot take almost 4 months to get a refund. I've canceled my membership and will NEVER go to any of nysc gyms.

Their customer service is UNACCEPTABLE! Besides my issue, the gym is old, the machines need repairs, the weights are never sorted, all the equipment is from last century.

I have been attempting to cancel my New York Sports Center (previously Tap Out) membership for the past 6 months. When I first joined, the manager told me that I was not locked-in & that I had a month to month contract.

I went several times to the the NYSC located at 32 St. & 7 Ave. to cancel, but each time I was told something different. When I spoke to the "person-in-charge" he told me that I had to come back on the one year anniversary date of my membership in order to cancel.

I went back on that date and was told that they cancelled it. The membership fee was still being withdrawn from my checking account. So then I went back to the NYSC location AGAIN today & was subjected to the most rude & unprofessional person that I have ever dealt with.

NYSC fraudulently placed my name on a Personal Training Membership agreement. I want to cancel my sessions. They say I must give them 30 days notice before effectuating the cancellation. They will charge me for 8 sessions I do not want.

The contract is not legal. I never signed it nor gave permission for a digital electronic signature to be placed on this document.

I'm a member using the Hawthorne Facility . We're working on 2 weeks (since Saturday May 11) without hot water in the club. Desk attendants are told it's con Edison's fault /a con Edison issue with no repair time to date .

Many Members use this facility as the in between point between where they live and work . We're told that we can use other facilities while this problem lingers however its not convenient for everybody. I firmly believe (I'm not the only one) that the management is not putting enough pressure on people involved at Con Ed (if it is in fact Con Ed) to resolve this issue.

i and my daughter and my cousin have been a member of the NY Sports Club at the Atlas Mall in Glendale NY 11385; i have been complaining to the front desk since December about tread mill machines not working; TV's not working. today April 15th, 2019 there were 6 tread mill machines that were out of service; the one's that were working there were no TV's on 3 of them and 3 other working tread mill machines the TV's were not working.

on the bikes most of the TV's don't work. i think this is a disgrace that no one is making an effort to have these problems resolved. i went to the front desk again and the manager was not there and the person behind the desk gave me the manager's business card.

i think Corporate office should have personnel come visit there facilities and see what is going on…

Facility manager told me that there was some problem with Credit card and I wasn't charged since September …..he didn't want to charge me and said that I have to wait for a bill. I never received any bill and today March 13 2019 Collection agency called me regarding payment.

I was coming to the club for 6 months and nobody let me know that there is a problem with my payments.

I work out at 34th and park. Most of the machine in that gym has been working improperly for months. 95% of the TV screen do not work. I usually come in and use the elliptical and use the TV screen for the music while I work out. None of the music station in any of the machine work. I spoke to Christian, the manager on several occasion about this issue. Christian promised that he is working on fixing these issues. In the meantime to alleviate the situation that he will credit me for the month of January and possibly February but to please be patient. I told him I've been patient for months but I'll give him a chance to rectify this situation before I cancel my membership because it doesn't make sense for paying these monthly dues and I can't get a proper work out in.

I have been requesting an invoice for last year since December. I have been given a complete run around. I was able to speak with Craig Scialdone for the second time today ONLY because I saw him in the parking lot, otherwise, his calls, emails and visits to the Croton Club have been IGNORED.

I contacted you about an assault by another member in your marlboro location. Clearly you think this is ok as I have heard nothing from you since making you aware of this. Today I go to work out to find that 2 other members are spreading malicious false rumors about me.

Josette grosso and Alissa ferrante- Kaye are stating to your management I am having an affair with another member. This is completely untrue and totally unacceptable. I use the gym to workout and expect to do so without these kind of distractions.

I am already in the process of filing with the court over the assault for wihich there was a witness too. I would hope the club looks into these issues. This is really getting out of hand and needs to stop.

I pay monthly is $80 for a broken place. In Hartsdale the heating system is broken in December. The basement floods out periodically and is closed. At least half of the cardio equipment like cross trainers, spin bikes, treadmills, stair masters and spinning bikes are in broken or need some type of repair.

There is no heating on pool deck. The Yorktown club pool is closed as well. The turn over of Hartsdale is high. Many of the TVs on the machines are broken as well. I am shopping for a better club for less fees.

I was told that instead of repairing broken equipment, the new policy is to replace them. I was also told by the manager of east 71st street that these replacements will not happen until September 2019, so members have to wait almost a year for working equipment.

Eight machines have already been broken for over two months. How about fixing the machines so we don't have to wait a year to use them?

I cancelled my membership in September. 2 months later I am seeing a $59.99 yearly 'membership' charge + a $15.99 charge for a gym membership from them. I called and they said it is impossible to reverse.

I always pay all my bills on time, but it is plain theft to charge people for a service they no longer use.

NYSC are thieves, and I hope someone walks into their corporate office and shoots up all their executives - at least the violence would make sense! LOL

I utilize the clubs at the palisade center in west nyack ny and primarily the club in Westwood nj at both location there is no speed bag available to use as part of a workout. at both locations 2x in the past 5or6 weeks and have been told the problem would be rectified but it has not been.

Both locations can obtain new bags or get a pump in a day if any effort was made. I understand this may be a minor problem but if you cannot fix the small ones there will be no urgency to fix the bigger ones

I have been renting a locker at the mercer street NYSC for a number of years. According to members and staff unrented locks were cut this past weekend. My rented lock was cut (this is the third time). When I arrived this morning after being away for a week, I could not open the lock on my locker with my regular key.

The attendant cut the lock and what we found was that while they were in progress of removing the items stored, they apparently realized the locker was being rented to me and stuffed the items back into the locker. Those items which could not longer fit were thrown out.

They took another lock from inside the locker and placed it on the locker. You would expect that they would have put a note on the locker that the key would be in an envelope at the front desk. PLEASE COME UP…
