A pyrex casserole dish exploded in my oven and broke my oven door costing me over $500 to repair
I have purchased all the Mickey Pyrex bowls measuring cups and lids . All dishes Mickey is wearing off measuring cups numbers and ozs fading lids cracking what has happened to your product have purchased new lids 2xs .
I bought a new Pyrex 4qt glass measuring pitcher to replace my old Pyrex one. My old one was OK except it was so old I couldn't read the measuring numbers on the outside. I was happy with my new one until I started to pour water from it.
Unless you get the water or any liquid squarely centered in the spout it runs down the front of the pitcher. I thought it was the way I handled it and my error but I had an email from a lady who had just bought one on Amazon and asked the public about her problem of the water or liquid running down the front when pouring.
I told her I had the same problem. The problem must be universal and possibly a manufacturing error. My old one did not do that. Please advise.
I have sent pictures of cooking tin and receipt got email back saying looking at it this was may not heard anything since disappointed
Sent complaint 9/5 haven't heard anything
Hello,
I have reached out number out of times regarding a package I returned on January 30th. It has been more than 30 days of the return and have not received an invoice of the credit return. I’d appreciate your attention to this matter as I need to ensure that this return and credit is complete with the university of California Sam Diego.
Thanks,
Evelyn Martinez
I have purchased 3 measuring cups In the last 4 years. Very unhappy that your printed on measurements come off every time. 3rd one is starting to fade.
Pyrex Airtight+Leakproof does not lock effectively! Poor quality for the Metrics/Sales Pyrex maintains.
To whom it may concern,
I have many pyrex containers and love the glass but the plastic covers have almost all torn and are no longer sealing the contents. They seem to be defective and splitting! This is applicable for all sizes. Have other people had the same problem? I looked at purchasing lids but they are very expensive and you can almost buy a complete new set for the replacement price of the lids. Is there anything that can be done? (a few lids I have thrown out but I have included a few pictures of the ones I still have!)
After taking it out of the oven where it had been for 13 minutes and putting it on my counter it exploded
I order what I thought was 4 deep dish pie pans. They are not pie pan, deep dish yes but not pie pans. I have no idea what to do with them. But I will be hard to make pie in them.
Your liquid measuring cups have practically no spout which makes a fucking mess all over the counter and now has dripped scalding water all over my foot. All the plastic measuring cups out there have decent spouts, why the fuck do you not?
I had a Pyrex measuring jug for about 5 years and washed it regularly in the dishwasher. The other day I went to empty the dishwasher it all looked fine. I put my hand on the handle of the Pyrex jug and started to lift it out of the dishwasher and it exploded in my hand shattering glass everywhere, very dangerous.
Luckily my 4 year old nephew was not stood beside me or else it could have been very dangerous. I have photos but size too big to upload.
Cracked glassware in oven and burnt hand. Lawsuit underway
all the lids are breaking even when I have always washed them by hand. never in Dishwasher. the sizes are 1 quart 11/2 quart and 2 quart
About 3 years ago I purchased from Wal Mart, an 8x8 Pyrex deep dish with a plastic cover. I had an older one, but liked the deeper aspect. I have used it exclusively for mac and cheese in the microwave-3 minutes at a time simply to melt the cheese.
It did not dawn on me that I should subject it to some thermodynamic testing. Thanksgiving day I used it for creamed pearl onions. I put it in the oven with 4 other casseroles, all except one covered with tin foil or open topped.
The oven was set at 375. After about 30 minutes, we heard an explosion. The dish holding the onions had quite literally blown up, sending glass shards of various sizes, from 3 inches long to tiny, into all the other dishes except one which was covered with a glass top.
The onions hit the oven floor and produced…
My daughter bought me 5 sets of the pyrex Easy grab cookware. None of the lids fit. Very dissatisfied with tour product.
I removed my pyrex baking dish from the oven and it exploded. Right at Thanksgiving and during covid. I can not afford to go buy another.
Your product sucks ,I can't believe it . I am done with Pyrex. The 1 liter measuring cup makes a huge mess no matter how or what you try to pour. Junk poorly designed. I will let everyone I know my experience.
I have the 8pc. Mixing bowl set. And the lids keep cracking & splitting.
My pyrex exploded in the over - when I tried to chat, it tried to connect me with an appliance dept. AND they wanted me to pay $1 to talk with them. This is a complete scam. Why would I pay to chat with someone?
Pyrex lids to glass bowls cracked and broke. Not a very good product. You need to replace them. 3 small glass bowls and 4 large glass bowls
I put a Pyrex casserole dish in the oven with my favorite chicken and rice dish at 375 degrees. After about 30 mins I heard a loud pop coming from the oven. I opened it and saw the exploded dish with my dinner all over the oven.
It kept popping and glass kept falling to the bottom of the oven. I was pissed!!! My family was expecting there favorite dinner!!! I'm not buying Pyrex anymore!! The picture uploaded sideways.
I have been purchasing pyrex glass storage containers for over 30 years but the most recent ones have the worst lids ever. They have cracked in less than 6 months time. I will not be purchasing your products again
Hello We buied 6 PC Pyrex storage lids broken in long time..and we trying to buy from Wal-Mart and Canadian tire too but unfortunately not available in that both store..can you please send lids as soon as possible..size is 1.5 mL (2) lids size 750 ml (3) lids and size 2.6 ml (1) lids...please help me
I kept the following transcript of what I sent to Pyrex online on Dec. 3, 2021:
"My husband and I bought several Pyrex storage containers from Bed, Bath & Beyond +/- 6 mos. ago. The lid edge of one of our 2-cup containers has a small slit in it , and we don't know why. If I use the dishwasher, I place it in the top rack; however, I usually wash these by hand. Of the several we bought, only one lid has done this. I took a picture of it, hoping I could email it to you. Please advise how to proceed."
I never heard back. I still have the screenshot I took of the lid. Unfortunately, for the first time, I have been unable to transfer it from my phone to the computer to then attach here.

We were heating a Pyrex dish on the stove (stovetop safe) and it completely shattered. It shot all across the kitchen and all over our thanksgiving dinner. We were so lucky the kids weren’t in the kitchen when it happened.
We all still can’t figure out what went wrong. The dish was not cold, but room temp.
I dropped my Pyrex dish on the tiled floor and it shattered into a million pieces. I brushed the floor , then hoovered it and I still found pieces in every corner and on seats of the kitchen. My memory of Pyrex down through the years was that it would practically bounce, it was so durable.
Now it breaks but breaks in a very dangerous way. Are Pyrex products being made differently? I don’t feel confident in replacing with Pyrex again which is most disappointing.
Ordered two small Pyrex casseroles that proved to be smaller than illustrated or specified. This was due to the curvatures, the surprising thickness of the glass, and the unexpectedly tiny internal capacity. I received a Return Approval on 09 September and have proof of posting on 15 September. Having received no acknowledgement or refund I sent a follow up email on 08 October but still no response by 18 October. Pyrex might be an old brand but certainly no old-fashioned service - or any service for that matter!
Do not buy from this company, as the products are not properly specified, then their hugely excessive packaging and return systems make returning as difficult as possible
I purchased a square Pyrex roasting tin 3 weeks ago from Morrisons Supermarket, it has been used twice and the coating on the bottom of the tin has started to come off.
How can your company make something that explodes when it is used you need to be removed from the market immediately. If my wife would have been injured from your product that casserole dish exploding would have been the least of your worries.
Remove your product or learn how to make it right. Pathetic
13x9 baking dish exploded in my oven I was making a small pork loin at 350 It nearly scared me to death! I have used your products for years & never had a problem
I took my dish out of the oven set it down on the counter. It exploded It went everywhere. I was thankful my face wasn't close to it. I let it cool down and threw out my lemon squares. So frustrating the time, money, that went into it.
Just thought you would like to know about your product. Will probably not purchase pyrex I the future
I bought a set of containers from Kohls which the lids have been splitting around the rims. I am very disappointed since I have been using pyrex for 40+ years and never had this problem. I only purchased the set around 4 months ago if that.
Top of pyrex dish says microwave safe but lid bowed inward and cracked when I used it. It was new.
ALSO LID CRACKED ON SIDE WHEN I TRIED TO STRAIGHTEN LID BACK IN SHSPE. SHOULD NOT SAY WICROWAVE SAFE IF NOT. IM VERY UNHAPPY WITH PRODUCT.
We had a large pyrex dish full of carefully completed potatoes mashed and ready for a group eat, when the plate exploded and sent tiny shards of glass all over the kitchen and food.
Sincerely,
Robert Adams
I LOVE your products but several of the Pyrex storage lids have not held up (twisted/cracked rims) 2 circles are 4 cup/950 mL, 1 circle is 2 cup/470 mL, 1 rectangle is 3 cup/750 mL. Can you send me new ones? Do these items have any type of guarantee? My address is 1 avery lane, andover ma 01810.
Thank you!

Pyrex Easy Grab 9x13. Not a complaint, just a suggestion. Love the shape of the baking dish (corners are more square-ish than some). But, how about making the cover clear so at a glance can be reminded what's in it.
Also, more appetizing when the "kids" come over to see the contents and think, "oh, I want a piece of that"! Marjorie
I made a chicken dinner it had 10 more minutes to cook I heard a bang it exploded in my oven ruined my dinner and made such a mess very unhappy my Pyrex dish was only a few month’s old I have 4 dishes afraid of using them I would like a refund I have a picture of it if you need to see it I have been trying to call and talk to someone but can’t get them please get back to me soon
I was cooking meatballs in my glass Pyrex dish in the oven on 400 degrees. The Pyrex literally shattered for no reason, ruining my meatballs as I could not take a chance that there was glass in them and made a mess in my oven. I am a little nervous about ever using a Pyrex dish again.
Pyres 9x11 baking dish was cooking corn in the pan when the dish was done My daughter placed it on a cooling rack to cool down no sooner then she placed it on the cooling rack it exposed on on her. She has severe burns to her legs and arms.
It shot glass on the over to the other side of my kitchen. I need for someone to contact me ASAP. If I don’t hear from the company by Tuesday morning I will be contacting my attorney on this because now we are having to pay for doctors visits and even wound care so that she can be treated for burns..
I am one upset mom.
I just removed my Pyrex bake ware 14” from the oven and placed it on the stove top that was NOT on....
I purchased a 2 cup storage container (red lid). I have been using it to store food and occasionally warm food in the microwave (warm only, not cook). After no more than 4 times of warming less than two minutes at a time, the lid split and now it is useless.
I purchased this relatively expensive storage unit for it's advertised use of being able to re-heat food. There is a warning not to use it in the oven, which I did not do, but the printed instructions on the lid say that it is acceptable to use in the microwave.
I am truly surprised that a company as highly evolved as Pyrex makes such a poor product component. I'm sure the glass bowl itself is the highest quality. I request that you replace the faulty lid at no cost to me, or I can guarantee that you have lost a lifelong customer.…
This morning I purchased two of your jugs from Tesco.i washed it before use and the handle and part of the top of the jug came away cutting my thumb.this is not what you expect from such a well known and trusted brand.as a consequence I am reluctant to use the second jug in case the same thing happens again I returned the jug to Tesco who were quick to point out it wasn't one of their brands(as if I didn't know) very dissapointed
I put my Pyrex in the frefigerater and the glass crack all over it was spladed all over, this never happened to me but, I would appreciate if you can compasat my loss
July 17, 2019 my 3qt glass oblong baking dish blew up like a bomb in my kitchen. At the time, it was not in use. It was sitting on my kitchen counter beside my stove. I was cooking french fries in my oven, at 375• f My home was not hot, nor was the dish in any extreme temperature changes.
The glass exploded though my kitchen, and luckily I had just went into the living room when it blew, otherwise it would have caused an extremely bad situation worse.
I’m still finding small shards of glass throughout my kitchen, although I have deep cleaned it every day since the incident. In fact, I just cut my foot for the second time.
This product is completely unsafe.
I cooked a roast in the oven and than I put the broiler on to brown the top and when it was done, took it out and the glass dish broke in to many pieces in my hands. I didn't think Pyrex was suppose to do that??
I’ve had three Pyrex cooking dishes so far bust in half while I’m using them to cook. Do you know how aggravating it is to have it happen 3 different times, and three different times I’ve had to throw my meals away! I will never ever buy Pyrex ever again and I will let others know how disappointed I am with your glass cookware.
