#85817 We have been guest rental property owners since 2006 and we have seen VRBO make changes over the years and none of them for the betterment of our experience.

Lately, since VRBO has changed the taxation policies, we are unable to properly add the local West Yellowstone, Montana resort tax of 4%. I was told by tech support that we should simply add it as a custom fee however that only allows for a dollar amount and not the correct percentage. The taxes page on our listing shows incorrect data and it is not editable.

In April 2019 I booked Property number 1607549 Reservation # 49600693 for condo in Panama City Beach Florida Received a confirmation from REAJJOY that the remainder of the balance would be charged to my account mid September They charged $480 fees up front . In October When I hadn't gotten any responses back from rental agent I went to look and see where the status was as we had scheduled for October 25-30 2019 and my previous confirmation was reading cancelled.

by email and that my charge card was declined for payment. except they were able to provide the cancellation on the previous confirmed reservation. so no attempt was ever made to place the final payment for the condo rental. their NONREFUNDABLE deposit of $480 because it was cancelled BUT I didn't cancel the reservation they did.…

Cannot easily contact VRBO with a problem. dirty, bugs, dirty clothes in drawers, mold, misrepresentation by owner, etc. and even though VRBO states that reviews are not published until both the owner and the traveler post, we have not posted a review yet as we waited for the owner to do the right thing and rebate some of the rental since the property was so badly misrepresented.

) for us to post our review of him and his property. Not fair. Obviously, it is to the advantage of VRBO financially to not have poor reviews.................

I reserved a townhome at 7 Springs resort over New Year's 2020. I made the reservation 6 weeks ago (Sept 18, 2019)and my deposit was taken at that time. Yesterday (11-5) the owner wrote to me and said SORRY but I sold the property. (Did she just list it OR did she have it listed when she took my deposit...knowing full well that she could not deliver...but she did take my money!!!) She said "To lessen the inconvenience to you, the new buyer, Jeffrey Vingin is willing to rent the townhome (Mountain Villas 6-1) to you for the dates that you have requested. If you are interested, you may find the property under listing ID 181496." I contacted Jeffrey and he is NOT willing to rent the townhome to me over those dates. In fact, he said he knew NOTHING about this from the previous owner.

I was double booked and charged for both .I had even called to make sure they hadnt done that because i got different amounts i owed.When i got to my destination i recv directions on how to get in the one i stayed in.Then when i left on my traveler tjing they had 2 pictures. I had booked and confirmed a VRBO property in Shaw District, Washington,DC for January 2021. Reservation ID HA-26OLBY. I received an abrupt email last night from the property manager that my reservation was cancelled! When I asked why he emailed a response that he didn’t know I meant 2021. First, and most importantly, as you can see by my confirmation, it clearly states the date as January 2021. This is unacceptable and extremely unprofessional, as it is certainly not my fault that the owner did not read the dates preferred before taking my deposit and sending a confirmation. I feel that the owner should be forced to honor our reservation or be stripped of his “premier” status. I have never used VRBO and at this point, I am sure I never will again.

Property #9126915ha or 1429 Wexford Way Our stay was from 10/11-10/14 and I have to say this was not a fun experience at all. My room had bedbugs and yes I was bitten and another couple of rooms had ants.

The exterminator was called and determined that the place was very well infested and we all (22 ppl) will be replaced. The replacement was a 1star motel (Clarion) and we were told that we had 8rooms reserved and would have to pay $100 deposit for each room.

After everyone packed their things we drove to the motel to find out there are only 3rooms available. At this point everyone is basically homeless cause no one was returning our phone calls. The group then decided to go back to the house and stay where they said was not a safe place to live.

Re: Property 895089, Reservation ID HA-KYX5XY From Sept. 6th to Sept. 8th I had rented the above mentioned property in Greenehaven, AZ. This property was found to be extremely dirty when we entered it. The tables and kitchencounter were sticky and dirty, the dishes, glasses and tableware were found unwashed in the closets, the carpet had not been vacuum cleaned.

There was dirt everywhere on the balcony with spiderwebs, indicating that no one had cleaned the unit for weeks (see pictures below). We only could use the property after we had started to clean it ourselves. I contacted the manager and all he did was writing an e-mail saying "I'm so sorry".

To Whom It May Concern: I rented a home to escape Hurricane Dorian that was supposed to hit Daytona / Ormond Beach Florida where I live with my 3 year old and one year old. I drove the 5-6 hours to my destination with my small children and upon arriving could not get in touch with the property manager.

I dropped my wife and children off at the Piggly Wiggly as we would need milk and other staples for our little ones. I went to the home and had no code that worked to get in and saw clothing on the fence of the property.

The property was filthy. The yard was over grown with weeds. The home smelled musky like it had been locked up for a couple years. Even the bedding had the musky smell. Did not stay but one night out of a four night paid for trip.

Did not sleep in the bed. Stayed on the couch all night. Bugs, cobwebs, smell, and hot. I feel they misrepresented the property on every aspect. I have photos if needed to show the disarray. I ended up having to pay for another place to stay in Alpine.

I would like to request my money back. Please advise on how to take care of this issue. I tried to post a review from the email i received but it wouldn't open. I would not let this property be listed again.

Very unhappy with the one night i did stay.

I spoke with Shania on 9-10-19 very professional and patience, I changed banking on 117094 when we were complete she realized the 90478 account had changed, the first error code,bd64f437788e along with case #23234160 and for the last 48 hours I have gotten 4 error codes f69363325f6e, d3f815f424c6 and 5d5ce2190024. After the second case #23266834 tonight and nothing has been accomplished that is when I decided to make you be aware of issue. We recently completed a stay at VRBO #1255278 in Winter Park, Colorado. When we got home I was solicited by VRBO to complete a survey on our experience. I completed the survey rating all categories as a five star experience.

Later I checked the listing to see if my rating had been posted which it had. I was STUNNED to see that it showed me rating it as a one star experience. I could not believe my eyes! It had my comments correct but not the star ratings.

I then called the customer service number to find out what happened. I was told I could not change anything and that I could not see the survey I filled out! I was told the only thing I could do was request the survey be deleted.

I booked a hotel property with you for July 5th and 6th in Portugal. Somehow it was connected to HomeAway. I was on a 8 City trip and your property was the only one that did not contact me and would not answer their phone or email.

Absolutely no response except that they/you charged my card. when my flight was delayed and I was in Portugal I tried to call them to let them know I would be late.... the night before I tried to live chat because I still had no confirmation and at 3 in the morning the live chat told me all day use their own software you have to phone.

I tried to phone your 877 number but of course it would not work from Portugal. m. flight I had to find a new place to stay. Needless to say I am disgusted by your service dot-dot. I had used it well before.

I was treated like a criminal by the customer service complaint dept. They sided with the owner when the home was not listed honestly. Problems with the property. They sided with owner after the owner made up false accusations. They allowed the owner to leave me 1 star and I was not allowed to review the property.

They acted like they were going to help me and then attacked me treating me like a liar! after a terrible experience with the property I rented. I will never trust this company again! These listings can be hit or miss as far as truthfulness.

I refuse to have my vacations ruined by owners who make false accusations after I stay. Not all owners are like this but it only takes one bad owner to ruin the trust of using VRBO. VRBO is just a website. They hide behind that.

My reservation was confirmed. Ten minutes later I received an email saying the property was not available. This put me in a bad situation since I have an upcoming meeting I am scheduled for so I hurried around and secured another location.

The owner of the first location will not allow a refund and is blaming me; I spoke with Customer Service and they were not helpful at all. They said it was my fault so I am out the money due to an error they caused by sending me an email telling me the property was not available. Very deceptive and fraudulent.

We’re staying in Paws Welcome at Carolina Beach. We complained to the owner that the air conditioning isn’t working. He sent a guy this morning that said he needs a new unit or to insulate the house, and there is nothing more he can do.

The temperature outside is 88 degrees, inside it’s 86. He also advertises cable, which is actually Roku, which will only work on one tv. The back yard is covered in debris. This house is not as advertised. We’ve rented many houses through vrbo and really question if we ever will again.

RE: Property # 7116582ha I used vrbo several times for my vacations and we are very respectful of the neighborhood. I live next to a vrbo vacation rental (Property # 7116582ha) who is NOT a good landlord at all, giving your company a bad name! Excessive partying at times.

His Rentees canvasing the neighborhood by way of fliers in people's mailboxes. Tacking fliers on beach walkways and poles with their rental address. Renting to college students and in one case the renters ran around naked! John Burnfield is not a responsible vacation rental owner.

Is there anything you can do to mitigate this issue? I am in contact with my County Commissioner about VRBO and vacation rentals as such, ordinances are being penned.

You have a VRBO listing who offers to make cash deals outside of VRBO, then once agreed upon, will rent to others if they offer more money. We have used VRBO many times and never experienced this. Horrible reflection of your company and this person should not be aloud to list on VRBO for this extremely shady behavior.

Rental house in Galveston,Texas was in complete disrepair, dirty, and ridden with dead and live roaches and spiders. We called at least 4 different times and were promised someone would be out to repair a shower, and storm shudders .

We wasted a full day of our vacation and no one came. The shower poured ( not just dripped). We could not access the deck to because the storm shudder was broken. We could not access the beach because the bridge only extended halfway and the rest of the path was under water.

The furniture was tired and falling apart. Linens and bedspreads filthy and stained. We had to wash everything. We demand at least a partial refund. $4000 wasted!!

While we were there the air conditioning upstairs did not work. Both the bedrooms were upstairs so it was impossible to sleep. I contacted vacasa through the app but they didn't use the app. The next day I got an email asking if it was still broken. Of course it was still broken, they hadn't sent anyone to fix it. The next day I got a text that they had someone on call but I had been on the water all day and hadn't taken my phone with me. I thought they should have just fixed it instead of back and forth with me. We left the next day and it never was fixed.

went to vrbo website to book listing#1528637. On the website the calendar indicated that the dates I needed were available. I needed to book for friends coming to Shediac, NB, Cda from Sweden. The dates needed were from Sept 3 to 10.

The website indicated that the listing had an average per night fee of $138/nt cdn$. I was given a price total estimate. Minutes later when I tried to finalize and book the listing the price was changed to @$178/nt cdn$.

I did not understand why and thought perhaps the website was wrong or experiencing issues. I sent an enquiry to the Owner, 'Steve' on the form and that was on June 6,2019. He replied that he did not know what was wrong and that he had never listed the place for the $138 ever and 'so sorry'.

He did not offer to help me with any explanation…

Guest decided to change plans and not use our place. Wasn't notified until I messaged the guest with check in info. On 6/5/19 VRBO rep told me that we would still receive payout. These dates are still listed as reserved and are blocked, preventing us from booking to other guests.

Ms Lorna Galbraith who owns this property has no idea how to be a good home owner renting to guests. We drove all the way from The Burden (six hours) to Dingle after renting this house on Home Away (VRBO) in February 2019. The pretty pictures of the bedrooms and the house were misrepresented. Ms. Galbraith's aunt Mary Boland did not have the house ready for our arrival.

The house is a 1950's farmhouse that has not been updated. The red flags are 1) bring your own sheets, 2)bring your own towels, 3) NO Wifi, 4) pay for your electricity, 5) the BIGGEST Red Flag on the VRBO website is NO CANCELLATIONS! Both the owner and rental company lied about the condition of the property. I believe that I am owed money back because I was never informed that my beach view would be closed off all week due to construction being done that week.

I contacted the rental company VTRIPs both locally and nationally, along with owner and they are both blaming each other. I was promised a refund of some sort after my trip, but now they are refusing. I need your help in solving this manner ASAP.

I booked a cabin back in 2018 for the 2019 summer to Branson, MO, I just got a call from the person I sent money to and he said he sold the property. So he told me to contact the new owner which I did right away.

I got a e-mail from him saying he has already rented my cabin for that week. What in the world! I'm very upset about this. I paid for insurance just in case something happened to one of us and couldn't go.

00 back from my insurance. He's the one that cancelled on me. I will never ever go through VRBO again!... No customer service. These people are just wrong for doing this to us. They suck!!!!!! Not a way to do business. Never again.

Your collection and disbursement company Tapstone continues to withhold over $4,000 in disbursement to me some of which are over a month old. They informed me that in order for them to process the disbursements I had to prove that i owned the properties.

Since I have been receiving payments on these properties for years through VRBO I find it OUTRAGEOUS that they are withholding these 4 separate payments to me. That being said I have submitted the documentation they requested after 4-5 separate phone calls all of which put me on hold for over 20 minutes and then all I got was being sent to another department.

What a horrible experience this was. The home we rented on VRBO was not available on the pick up day and I had to cancel my trip. The insurance that I bought was a rip off according to the customer service agent. It took three days of phone calls to get a refund. Their customer service is a scam, when you ask for a refund they put you on hold and do not come back ever. I had one tell me she issued a refund and even gave me a bogus confirmation number.

I finally got someone who did not put me on hold and sent me a refund receipt to me email address instantly, the others were all just lying to me and hoping I would just give up. I have yet to see the refund, as they told me it could take fifteen days. They took the money two weeks before the trip date instantly but giving you an instant…

com many times, seemed like a great company. I booked another trip through them April 11th. Something came up and I had to cancel it with in 24 hours, which I did. Called them 3 times just to confirm that I am getting the money back.

They said YES no problem. They even emailed me the confirmation that refund is being processed. APRIL 11th, we are now in June. Very surprising, I would think a business as big as VRBO would honor their policy.

However after 2 months still have not received a penny.

They changed room fees to ungodly amounts. Spoke to 5 different VRBO customer representatives whom all had such heavy accents it was almost impossible to communicate. After hours dealing with each one they were still unable to reach the owners to ask for a late check out at least.

They made this experience a nightmare. When I asked to cancel the whole transaction (had made the reservation 2 days ago) I was informed I would be penalized, although it was their ineptitude and lack of assistance. I would never recommend this travel company to anyone!

I booked an Iceland air flight plus home for my family (my husband, son and I) and misspelled my son's last name. When I realized the mistake I called VRBO.com to correct it. The first time the rep said they weren't able to contact Iceland air, after putting me on hold for 32 minutes and asked me to call back. I did, and this time I was put on hold for 1 hr 30 minutes, and the name change apparently happened. The red gave me a new Iceland air confirmation number that had my son's corrected last name, BUT this time he was entered as an adult.

The rep at VRBO assured me that this mistake will be corrected and I should see everything corrected within 6-24 hours. Unfortunately, I really have nothing else to do but to wait to see if this will be corrected. How does a simple name correction…
