I rented a house in Cleveland Ohio on 8/5/2021. Address 12816 Garland ave. Cleveland Ohio 44105. Owner is Elijah Schreiber. The property was not as listed and had many problems.

First upon arrival, the stench of the house was awful. The carpeting was filthy, queen beds sheets were not washed and cigarette burns were found on sheets and mattress along with large urine stain on mattress. Each AC vent was blocked by oversized curtains and when moving couch to find outlet, I found old candy, food, clumps of hair, paper wrappers, and DEAD bugs, all of this under every piece of furniture. Every room needed vacuumed.

After vacuuming each room, vacuum was full and needed emptied. Counters needed washed and scrubbed. Cots were in bedroom instead of stated twin beds. Not one window had a working…

I rented a unit at 849 Glades Rd in Gatlinburg TN (Unit 3E) from july 26th through 30th. On July 27th at 5:21 pm I contacted the owner of the unit because the kitchen sink fell through the kitchen counter while I was washing dishes.

It was an undermount sink and had no support other than adhesive holding it in place. The owner seemed to know exactly what the problem was and stated that they must have attached the sink with "chewing gum". By 5:50 my group had cleaned all the water up from the floor in the kitchen.

We had used literally every towel that we had with us, including 6 of our own personal beach towels. I texted the owner a picture of our pile of towels and explained that they were all dirty (very dirty actually which I did point out - we had no idea that the floors were filthy…

We are paying top dollar but so far disappointed. Freezer is a mess an not usable. No cable TV. No internet. Both were promised. Rude way to treat paying customers with not a single roll of toilet paper in site!

The house is nothing close of what is posted. First,the owner lives here. They left the belongs , they do not have a coffee maker. The do not have a smart lock so I spent 2 hours trying to get in with my 6 family members I am asking for a refund and I want to go back to Miami ASAP.

The table picture is for 4 people it only has 3 chairs. The fridge is full with the landlord groceries. The place is am studio it doesn't have a patio as it shows in the picture. Please do not let this to happen 5o a family on special people like me which only get 2 weeks vacation I am a nurse I am not having good times

Our house was terrible. Nothing that was promised was there. Washer and Dryer did not work. No internet access. Toilet leaked. Heat did not work and bedroom number 1 had no box spring with only a mattress on the floor.

Tried to contact the owner to no avail. The "property manager" who is just a friend of the owner was on charge of the resident while the owner was "away". House smelled musty to the point that we had to buy spray and candles to mask the smell.

Must horrible experience I have ever had to deal with. I deserve a refund or at least half my money back as we did stay in the house but only because we had paid for it and could not afford anything else at this last minute.

Will never use Vrbo or this host again

If I could choose zero stars, I would. "Book with Confidence" HA! On March 3rd, we booked a family vacation in Daytona Beach, FL for June 17-21, 2021. It was a 2 bedroom condo in a resort. On June 9th, the property management company (Resort Rental Pros) cancelled.

Stated that they couldn't verify with the owner (If they are managing the property, why do they need to contact the owner). I know, that's not Vrbo's fault. BUT, then I contacted Vrbo regarding the Book with Confidence Guarantee because our host cancelled well within the 30 days allowed...

they only gave us 7 days notice. Vrbo said absolutely, they were going to help us find another place to stay, we had paid just over $1500 and they were willing to match that if they had to. They were going to find us an equivalent or better…

I had a reservation scheduled and the property owner cancelled last minute. I called customer service to try and get assistance due to the book with confidence and I was treated poorly by a agent named Sam, she wouldn't let me finish my sentences, she assumed she knew what I was talking about and interrupted me.

Basically told me I was out of luck she couldn't help me find another property and would send me an email with suggested properties. I wanted to speak to her supervisor and told me to hang up and call again.

I was on the line for over an hour. I am using roaming minutes from Mexico to speak to this woman and was treated like garbage.

My rental pappy's place HM-DRMZOB Pickens SC was declined. Owner never even responded to any messages. I believe it was because of my guide dog. I was honest and said 1) I'm traveling with a guide and 2) my son who lived nearby would stop by but not stay the night.

I like to be honest. When there was no response, I sent a message to ask if there was a problem. I received no response. I was paying in full and bought damage insurance. Since she will not reply, I assume it is because of my dog.

She is not a pet! She is medical equipment. I believe this goes against VRBO policy and ADA and I would like to lodge a complaint. If asked, I could have provided references. Even though it isn't legal to ask, I would have put her mind at ease that I clean up after my guide and she is very well…

I booked the property a day ahead because I would need an early arrival that wouldn't be possible any other way. Upon arrival we found urine still in one of the toilets, the kitchen counters had food stains that I cleaned, the floors were dirty so we swept them, the dining room blinds are dirty, and dead bugs all over the bedroom floor upstairs.

Given all of this we didn't feel comfortable sleeping in the beds so we only stayed part of the day until we found another place. I text the property owner to tell him. At first he asked what he could do to make it right but never responded after that.

I even held my review to give him such a chance knowing that sometimes things happen and if he hired a 3rd party cleaning crew he may not have known. Will never do this again. I would like at least…

Good morning, I thought you should know at 1:30 AM last night, after an entire day of yelling and screaming at your rental property, I finally had to call the police to go to your property to get the screaming to stop.

Apparently, your renters think because they left their home state, they also left planet earth and all common decency is out the window while they are at your house.

While we love fun too (which is why we all live here and work here full time, and had to be up at 6 AM for work) screaming until the wee hours of the morning is simply not okay.

Please keep in mind, I am several doors down and it still kept us awake - all doors and windows closed.

My hope is you’ll vet your renters better and provide clearer expectations on normal human courtesy.

My husband, Paul Cox booked and paid for apartment 1138 Cathcart Road 0/1 Glasgow G42 9EG on 21/05. We were contacted by the owner and told it was unavailable! In brief, despite contacting the owner and customer service immediately at VRBO he to ‘chase’ a refund for more than 3 weeks, which we FINALLY received (in 2 parts) post return of our original booked dates. As a consequence, apart from the anxiety of not being fully recompensed, we had to rebook another property at great inconvenience and additional cost to ourselves. This is totally unacceptable. I generally do not have the time or energy to write such reviews regarding my experience with a company, but my experience with VRBO has been egregious that I feel compelled to share my experience as I have wasted countless hours during my workday to speak with a company where the people are not doing the job that they promise.

I had a reservation for a property in Orlando Florida Jul 31 - Aug 7. I have made 2 payments toward this property and last week when I logged into VRBO to make my final payment is shows my reservation as Cancelled and Deleted.

I spoke to 2 different people on 5/14/21 who told me there was a technical glitsch and they sent a ticket to Tech Support and escalated it and that someone would contact me withing 48-72 hours. I have yet to get a response.

I called again today and they can only tell me the same thing. I spoke to the owner of the property that said this issue occurred on 5/7/21 when he was notified 54 of his revervations were cancelled. He is getting the same run around from VRBO as well.

Horrendous customer service. Takes 40-50 minutes to get someone then you are told you are in the wrong department. No has authority to really help you. Same issue week after week and never solved. No way to escalate, talk to a supervisor or someone that really cares. As an owner/host I am appalled by the customer service and how the company is run. So many scammers trying to book - all lths compared to Airbnb with fantastic customer service and no issues ever.

I am surprised how this business is allowed to run and runs.

VRBO sucks! They took 2k out of my bank account without authorization after a guest just didn’t show up for their reservation. She claims fraud was committed on her account. Give me a break! I Booked a trip on 4/30 and then we cancelled it 20-30 minutes later because we realized it only had1 bathroom for 6 women. We tried to contact the host but we are now being told that we will only get 1/2 the money back since the proposed trip is less than 60 days from now. Well when we booked it, it was less than 60 days from the proposed date so I cannot believe that we will lose half of my vacation payment within a couple of hours.

I booked a house in the Kansas City area for use in March of 2020 and because of COVID restrictions placed by their state we were unable to use it. I let the owner know as soon as possible and after months of non communication he decided to refund us $300 of the $900 he had already collected from us. No way to let anyone know of my dissatisfaction.

Fast forward to March 2021 and after some last minute rescheduling due to a record breaking storm in Denver CO, we booked another property for a ski trip with out of state family. $1000. Their flight was unexpectedly canceled and we could not continue the trip. I had purchased insurance through VRBO's site using Generali. Today found out that Generali has denied the claim. I attempted to enter the site on April 15 to respond to a potential renter’s request. Three codes were sent and each time an error message came up and I was blocked. Customer service told me this would be fixed within 48 hours but exactly the same thing happened again when I tried today (18/4) and the company service person was unable to tell me what the problem is or when it might be fixed.

I am therefore unable to enter the site and respond to a potential customer which means it is likely that this business will be lost. This is totally unacceptable and I must ask for an urgent reponse as to when this will be fixed and I will have no option but to take the house down off the site and warn other owners who might suffer from the same problem. Not cleaned sufficient. Not disinfected as indicated on check list Cleaned by two young girls with no supervision. Appeared to be 16 and 10/11. We know because we were there. Not sure if that is even legal. Could not possibly clean all they say. Floors not vacuumed.

No dish rags/towels, no beach umbrella, no beach chairs as show. (they were broke ). Kevin did get us dish rags and umbrella. Would like a cleaning refund. Went to store to spray disinfectant and wipe down surfaces/handles myself. Will have to purchase beach chairs.

Can not believe this had a high rating. Almost stick to the carpeting.

After a host filed a bogus damage report that was NOT substantiated AND not verified. VRBO is making us jump though hoops to get our deposit back. ON hold for hours. different answers every time. We were told VRBO had money and that host had until a certain day to respond to our dispute.

She sent nothing to back up claim, removed house from VRBO. NOW they are saying she has to REIMburse them and they send to us. WHAT? They ask for my picture ID, yea ... I don't think so. In addition, not one person can answer the question about the damage insurance I took out through VRBO.

Why wasn't a claim filed there? Oh I know because it's bogus. Crumbs in kitchen and popcorn under coach ARE not damages. We paid a 250 cleaning fee in addition to all else.

I am retired and recently went to your site to book the entire month of March 2022 for Fort Myers. My wife and I spent hours reviewing options. Here is a list of all the things your company failed us on. 1.

Three properties showed available but when we tried to reserve the owners told us that the properties were not available. This wasn't due to simultaneous bookings. It was due to a lack of policy by VBRO to make sure that owners remove their properties when they are deciding what to do or when they may have a future booking they want to stay available for. 2.

I tried to contact your customer service for assistance and via chat and the chat showed a 5 min. wait on every chat I attempted. The first two chats made me wait for over 15 mins each and then disconnected me.

VRBO received our full amount of refund monies and then helped themselves to $75.00 instead of returning the full amount. The mandatory $75 fee is no where listed anywhere. Trying to contact VRBO is impossible in any way.

Keep your records and file with your credit card company a dispute. Using any other service is better then this.

I am very upset Before I got there I was told everything would be very clean and all bedding would be cleaned and beds all made and the hot tub would be very clean when I got there And that the tennis court and Basketball court was open now to be used and pool table worked !

The homeowner of my rental was good enough to refund my reservation in full due to the coronavirus pandemic. That was a week ago. Vrbo has yet to ctediy my account. I called and after being given misinformation and being disconnected twice, on the third call the vrbo rep said that the refund could take up to four weeks.

This is also stated on the vrbo app. Totally unacceptable. You can bet that if I made a reservation, vrbo would charge my account instantaneously. The pandemic has caused financial strain to many, and vrbo’s lack of responsiveness has made this even worse.

The homeowner was great, vrbo is the worst.

I attempted to book a property in Greenville, SC for 5 days beginning October 23, 2019. After finding a property and entering all of my credit card information, I was notified on my screen that "the property was no longer available" and to choose another property.

If did book another property with someone else other than VRBO. 85 for VRBO*8136314461114 512-782-0805 WA. I immediately called HomeAway and was told that there had been a computer glitch and that my credit card had been charged a "pre-booking" charge/deposit and that my credit card was going to be credited.

I have NEVER RECEIVED A CONFIRMATION for this booking through my email. I do not delete my emails and still have a booking confirmation for a property that I booked in 2017. There is NOTHING confirming the 2019 reservation…

How can I get help with one of your properties? I received a cancellation on my Honolulu trip due to the coronavirus and travel restrictions that stated I will get a full refund. I contacted the property manager as to when we would receive the refund and he only wants to give me a credit to use during 2020.

This is not a full refund as stated! As I told him, There is no date that this coronavirus will end and that they are saying the coronavirus could return this fall just like the flu does this could impact any future 2020 stay!

I understand that Historic Lahaina Front Street is a member of VRBO. I would just like to inform you of what was offered to us as we were unfortunately unable to take our trip to Maui, Hawaii. Due to the pandemic all international travel has been cancelled leaving us no option but to cancel our travels.

We had to cancel our trip scheduled for March 27th, so we had to cancel the condo that was rented. When Paula Schwary from Historic Lahaina Beach Resort #428 was contacted, she offered us to rebook for either June, July, or August, we could not accept this offer since nobody knows what the travel restrictions will be at that time due to the current pandemic of Covid-19.

Hawaii is a winter holiday for us, we live in Northern Manitoba where winter temperatures get to minus 35 degrees Celsius.…

I have rented a home in Indio, Ca for the last 3 years for the Stagecoach Music Festival. Since the festival was moved from April to Oct. I contacted the homeowner to move my dates and it was not available.

I then asked politely for a refund for my $2000 plus amount, to find new housing in Oct. and I was told "No". When I reached out to the owners for more understanding of the Ca State of Emergency, again I was told "Not refundable".

When I contacted a VRBO agent, again I was told no refund and it was up to the discretion of the homeowner. So what does this represent for VRBO and the homeowners, nothing but GREED! Do these people not listen to what is happening in the world and that trips/vacations are being cancelled everywhere that is out of our control.

In May 2019 we booked a 4 week rental in South Padre Island, Property #844623. 4 days before our arrival the property manager texted me and cancelled our rental. By this time we had already left home and were in Alabama.

I’m not sure how VRBO can run a business like this, we booked in good faith, paid our deposit and final payment on time. Our money was returned to us in a timely fashion, but talk about ruining someone’s vacation.

I for one with be staying away from VRBO type rental companies. We were unable to get any other suitable rental so we drove home.

com. 24 hours later VRBO sent a email saying that the home owner had not responded, request was cancelled and we were not charged. We wanted that home so I sent another request and the next day we were confirmed and charged $995 deposit.

8 days later we get a cancellation email notice from VRBO. com. I cancelled the VRBO home insurance and got my refund from them in 4 days. After 10 days, still no VRBO refund. When I called, they said the reservation was still active!!

After arguing and being put on hold for 20 minutes, I hung up. I called a second time and got nowhere from the second operator, who also put me on hold for 16 minutes and I finally hung up. The third call, again giving all the information, I asked for a supervisor to talk to.

He said one would call me back in 15 to 30…

Spent over :30 minutes on the phone with the VRBO customer service, the representative initally tried to infer that a payment issue was my fault. "did I use the right card number, are you sure you booked the reservation ( the bank called to verify charge), maybe it is delayed, maybe its an issue with the charge going through, and yadda yadda. After thirty minutes on the phone, still received no answer to the question.

Called the bank, they provided me with an answer in less than two minutes, VRBO cancelled the reservation.

was it too much to expect the VRBO customer service representative should have known and provided the answer. Guess so????

I filed a complaint yesterday with your instant messaging department - claim #24391342 and was told someone would reach out to me within 24 hours and no one has as of yet. constantly emailing me and coming up with excuses for not refunding it (none are founded reasons) as well as harassing me continually.

Upon my arrival she was rude when she realized I was gay and now she's just dragging it out. I was told by the representative that I spoke with yesterday that a manager was to get involved and get my refund processed.

We found our vacation rental on VRBO - we would never have found it without this website. I booked the trip through VRBO and the owner did not respond so it was canceled. I re-booked at which time I was told that I had to pay through paypal so they didn't have to pay the fees.

Unfortunately I did that not having the experience to know I was being scammed. We stayed at the property; location was perfect but the house had issues, broken air conditioner, windows that didn't have screens and doors that didn't open and cockroaches.

I made a reservation on VRBO with an option for a 100% refund and learned almost immediately that my husband and I had double booked for the dates. I attempted the next day to cancel online; however, I did not have an option to do so due to the way in which the property is managed locally in Portugal.

When I attempted to send a message to the property manager via the VRBO website, I received an error message. On 10/29, I spoke with a VRBO agent via chat about my attempt to cancel the reservation. She was also unable to send a message through the website and advised me to call VRBO for assistance.

#85817 We have been guest rental property owners since 2006 and we have seen VRBO make changes over the years and none of them for the betterment of our experience.

Lately, since VRBO has changed the taxation policies, we are unable to properly add the local West Yellowstone, Montana resort tax of 4%. I was told by tech support that we should simply add it as a custom fee however that only allows for a dollar amount and not the correct percentage. The taxes page on our listing shows incorrect data and it is not editable.

In April 2019 I booked Property number 1607549 Reservation # 49600693 for condo in Panama City Beach Florida Received a confirmation from REAJJOY that the remainder of the balance would be charged to my account mid September They charged $480 fees up front . In October When I hadn't gotten any responses back from rental agent I went to look and see where the status was as we had scheduled for October 25-30 2019 and my previous confirmation was reading cancelled.

Cannot easily contact VRBO with a problem. dirty, bugs, dirty clothes in drawers, mold, misrepresentation by owner, etc. and even though VRBO states that reviews are not published until both the owner and the traveler post, we have not posted a review yet as we waited for the owner to do the right thing and rebate some of the rental since the property was so badly misrepresented.

) for us to post our review of him and his property. Not fair. Obviously, it is to the advantage of VRBO financially to not have poor reviews.................

I reserved a townhome at 7 Springs resort over New Year's 2020. I made the reservation 6 weeks ago (Sept 18, 2019)and my deposit was taken at that time. Yesterday (11-5) the owner wrote to me and said SORRY but I sold the property. (Did she just list it OR did she have it listed when she took my deposit...knowing full well that she could not deliver...but she did take my money!!!) She said "To lessen the inconvenience to you, the new buyer, Jeffrey Vingin is willing to rent the townhome (Mountain Villas 6-1) to you for the dates that you have requested. If you are interested, you may find the property under listing ID 181496." I contacted Jeffrey and he is NOT willing to rent the townhome to me over those dates. In fact, he said he knew NOTHING about this from the previous owner.
