I have been a multiple American express card member for 30plus years and normally enjoy wonderful customer service. The only exception to this is American express travel, which must be owned by a 3rd party.
Last year we encountered a nightmare with am ex travel that resulted in 20plus hours on the phone to try and resolve, which actually never happened. So they offered me a $250 credit towards my next flight. The email i received told me to book a new flight on the website and then call so they could issue the credit. I was on the phone today for over 2 hours. I literally lost the will to live. I have never wasted so much time of my life for a measly $250, which they called a goodwill credit. I will NEVER again use their travel services.
