I have been a multiple American express card member for 30plus years and normally enjoy wonderful customer service. The only exception to this is American express travel, which must be owned by a 3rd party.

Last year we encountered a nightmare with am ex travel that resulted in 20plus hours on the phone to try and resolve, which actually never happened. So they offered me a $250 credit towards my next flight. The email i received told me to book a new flight on the website and then call so they could issue the credit. I was on the phone today for over 2 hours. I literally lost the will to live. I have never wasted so much time of my life for a measly $250, which they called a goodwill credit. I will NEVER again use their travel services.

I am an amex platinum member 4 months ago booked a flight from miami to milan connecting in london today luckily i called amex just to find out that my connecting flight had being cancel and i have not being informed of this if i would have not called i would have being left at the airport waiting for a non existing flight.

On top of that amex could not help me get another flight close to that time frame so i had to miss work now and flight earlier in order to get to milan on time. I had paid for seats upgrade and now in this new flight theres no seats available to choose from due to the short time.

Worst experience ever coming from such a high end card. Would not recommend this anymore to any one and planing on closing my accounts.

A few weeks ago I made a very large purchase and purchased some merchandise through a online whiskey auction for $47,000+ thousand dollars.

The online whiskey auction claimed that the merchandise had been delivered to me. What in fact happened is the courier dumped 50 thousand dollars worth of high end whiskey on my doorstep and never required a signature and left it unattended as if I ordered a new pillow. I reached out to the merchant to try and figure out where my packages were and after they investigated it they came to the understanding that it was left outside on my doorstep and basically told me that I’m to blame as I don’t have cameras outside my home. In what world would anyone ever leave a 50 thousand dollar package unattended outside of someone’s house when no one is home ?…

This is the worst company I have ever dealt with. I have a sterling 800+ credit score and got a Delta Skymiles gold card issued from AE with a waived annual fee. When I got billed the $99 annual fee the 2nd year, I immediately called and (1) cancelled the card and (2) demanded and GOT a cancellation/waiver of the $99 annual fee.

Unfortunately effecting those results took about 45 minutes of phone games. Then, I got billed that $99 again and, again, I called and got the same promises. Then, it happened a third time and I, again, went through the same lengthy phone call with them.

I then requested an email indicating cancellation and waiver as originally promised and was told that I will have to call them in 10 days and request such a "zero balance letter". They wouldn't agree to send it…

AE said if I paid off my card that specific day they’d absorb the very small amount left. I spoke to Faisal Almareook, he then confirmed with his supervisor. I called last week, there was a balance left I was told 72 hours it would fall off my acct.

I now find it was sent to collections. AE won’t talk to me. I’m in shock they have done this. I fulfilled my part. I have names and the messages from AE.

My card was ready to expire so I called ordered a new one. They sent 2 by mistake on the same day at the same time, but I only received 1. The wrong 1. So my money was tied up waiting 3 weeks to receive the wrong card in the mail.

They said they'd send me an expedited card and they'd waive the $20 fee because it was their fault. Got my new card 2days later. I activated it and they'd taken the $20 fee. Now the customer service from India has hung up on me 3times and tells me they can't do anything and transfer me around, and eventually hang up on me every time. I've tried everything.

I know $20 isn't much to some, but for a struggling single mom, that's 2 days worth of food for my kids. If anyone knows what else I can do or who to contact please let me know. He should have never said he'd…

If I could honestly leave the 1 star blank I would without a doubt do so. So my complaint a combination of a few issues.

First one is after filing my taxes with Jackson hewitt and recieving a temporary AMEX SERVE card and after activating that card and setting up my account it stated my personalized card would arrive in 7-10 days , which it didn't. Then on 02/18/2022 my temporary card started declining all my purchases, wouldn't let me withdrawal From atm nothing.

So I decided I should call the card company (you guys) and I have called numerous times and numerous different numbers ( to wait on hold and after being on hold for hour an hour 6 or 7 different times and over 2 hrs one time to then be disconnected from the call not by me though) along with numerous different forums and google…

Today, February 18,2022 I have been on the phone with two incompetent representatives for your company - Prince and Rona. For way over an hour I have tried to book flights from New York to Atlanta and back. I have a credit for Jet Blue and also wanted to use points for these flights.

These two individuals could not be more incompetent. This is not the first time I have had the same issues with the American Express Travel department. Your travel department is so poorly run it’s amazing your still in business. After 1 1/2 hours I still have no resolution to this issue to say nothing of your online service which is so unuser friendly that both representatives couldn’t help me book the flights using points. I ordered 20 Sheets of vinyl from the World of Transfer papers and only received 10 sheets. They asked for the shipping label and I copied the information and sent it to them. I have sent emails to eBay and PayPal.

No one is resolving my issue. They state I received the package but, therewas only 10 sheets instead of 20. I paid $54.

I called and made a deal with him when we were evacuated for hurricanes Laurel ever interest which I paid off all the charges within 3 months over $7,000 they collected no interest a year later I am still fighting them they keep sending letters stating that they owed me credit and it would show up on the next bill which I never received and they just keep adding more charges to this card which was closed over a year ago I am billed monthly or interest charges which I never owed.

I have been an AmEx customer since 2013. I have noticed that the quality of customer service has deteriorated and the offers are now very misleading almost scammy.

I have added two offers for Macy’s Wine Shop and Wine Insiders for the $30 statement credit for a $30 or more online purchase, up to 3x.

The offer in the front does not explicitly state that it is not to be combined with other promos or offers.

However, as soon as you click on the link provided by AmEx offers, the site asks you to set up an account and provides you with a one time promo code for your first purchase. Quite a bait I may say. So naturally, it seems like a very good deal to use the first-purchase promo code along with the $30 statement credit.

i have been banking my rewards with my account. i like to use them to buy gift cards for when i travel to cover my expenses. log in to my account and see i have several hundreds of dollars in there.

Great, go to redeem and no options but statement credit. so i call CS and informed that we cannot use of rewards anymore. that i could only use a statement credit. when did this go away and why were we not notified and giving a cutoff date to use our rewards.

rep had no info to give me and this is in the retention dept. a different rep told me i can still use it for gift cards a travel. of course i asked how. i was told redeem for statement credit and go to the store and buy gift cards or book travel.

My American Express credit card was denied without reason for a charge today ( October 21, 2021 ) They did not answer the phone for several hours.

Finally after hours on hold , I spoke to a person who told me they were updating the system. I have been with American Express for over 26 years. There answer was unacceptable and not business like. They are the worse credit card company on this planet and do deserve to be in business !

When you update a system you reject new current charges ? There are much better credit card companies around that appreciate loyal customers!

We went online for the American Express Gold Delta Skymiles credit card and they stated that you can earn 70,000 Bonus Miles and $200 Cash back statement credit if you make purchases of $2,000 or more in the first 3 months. We applied and got approved with a high credit line.

We purchased over $2,200 in the first month and when we were expecting the bonus miles and $200 credit we were very disappointed to find out that since we had American Express before then we will not qualify for this promotion. No where did it say in the ad or online application that this would disqualify us from this bonus.

Also, the application let us apply without telling us that we would not be eligible or stop us in any way. We could have charged the $2,200 on a different credit card and received 2% cash back.…

Amex has consistently snuck onto my credit account APR charges for an absurd amount totaling to pennies! 64. 11! It’s so dense. When I speak with a rep, they go into an “investigation” as to why there are those charges..

All they have to do is refund me pennies!! On top of this, I have a 0% APR intro. They just suck.

American Express decided to close my Hilton honor credit card ending in 13008 due to dispute abuse now I didn’t abuse the card I provided legit documents to support my dispute and I end up sending a check in the amount of $1232 and now I’m waiting on a refund for that amount and it’s been three days no refund … the rep told me the account cannot be reopen … yes I do think they are racist towards African Americans

Never received replacement card and a lot of foreign talk. This is terrible service! I’ve been with you for years! I’ve never had this type of poor service! I’ve been waiting for 2 weeks for my replacement card due to fraudulent activity this is still occurring at the moment.

Also the agent and the supervisor told me that they will not ping my credit report! What’s up with that?! I can not go into my Delta lounge when I travel because well I do not have registered platinum card.

Reaching someone at serve is already a difficult feat. I had a refund from my insurance company go through ACH it was sent out on July 30, 2021 and as of today August 9, 2021 I still do not have it.

I called August 4th to inquire about the refund because I had an important bill ( rent) due. I stated it had already been held for 5 days at that time and I needed the funds released. I was berated and not helped after spending 3 hours on the phone even though they could see the funds.

I asked repeatedly to be connected to the department that handed refunds or disputes was denied, talked over and not helped. Today August 9th I still sit on hold as write this it has been 11 days and still my money has not been returned to me and talking someone still seems incredibly difficult.

I have been with this company for 15 years. Made a total of two challenges during that time. One of my card gets hacked, I wait for my card to arrive by US Mail, it never comes. I ask for it to come by Fed Ex, and they can’t even send it that way.

Don't get it. I hope I can get my initiation money back. I've had it for 2 - 3 weeks and 1/2 the times that I use it the card declines. I call American Express customer service. They say because I'm making a payment on my card, the card is frozen for 6 days.

They will unfreeze if they can call my back with my on the line. I agreed to this twice this week already! I went to make a small purchase and it was denied. I called and they asked to call my bank again.

I've make payments once per week on my Amex account. That ON A RECORDED LINE is what they told me to do. So I follow their advice and this is what I get. No credit, bad customer service, and a loss of hundreds of dollars in imitation charges.

This is in reference to my Amex Delta Skymiles Platinum Card 3795 885538 8100.

I am being wrongly denied 50,000 bonus miles and a $200 statement credit. I have fulfilled all the requirements laid out in the promotion. When I received it in the mail in March, I requested an upgrade from blue to platinum, and when I received my platinum cards in April, my husband and I began to use them to spend the required $3000. By now, we have spent much more, and my June 13 bill for $3,343.83 has been paid.

That I had yet to be charged the annual fee prompted me to call customer service. To my disbelief, I was told there was no record of my having upgraded to platinum in response to a promotion. I argued to no avail that the offer of mileage and statement credit was obviously my sole incentive for…

I've been a loyal customer with American Express Serve and I misplaced my card and contacted you guys on phone multiple times and was suppose to be issued a replacement card, but to no avail did I receive my new card at all. Don't understand why and I just decided to go ahead and close my account due to not ever receiving my new card.

It is so sad because I've waiting for almost a month and nothing at all. I gave American Express Serve a good name as well as recommending others to the card, but what I experienced during this time has caused me much stress.

The card holds your money for 30 days when you use it on certain purchases. Even if the merchant is not holding the money. On top of that the customer service department tells you different things and no one has the right answers to your questions.

They have no compassion in the way they handle you and they click on and off the call while your talking. I work in a call center and you can hear them doing it on the phone. Worse card and service ever!

My complaint is that I booked a room To check in at 1:00 pm because they didn’t have any rooms available at the normals 11:00 am check in time that I am used too but when I call the office they telling me I can’t get checked in until 2:00 but yet I paid already and they not giving refunds.

I added money on my American Express BlueBird credit card to purchase plane tickets to go to Chicago for a family emergency. After paying the tickets and insurance because i always get insurance after the transactions cleared my card i get a notification from Illinois stating anyone from a high risk state (COVD 19) is not being allowed into the state and

it listed the high risk states like CA which is where I live. Now I's pretty sure the travel agent and air lines knew this and there should have been a banner or something not allowing people who live in high risk states per Illinois not to get plane tickets.

I have been trying for over a month to resolve a problem with my card having charges that are not mine. It has been impossible to speak with anyone at the number on back of card. Several times I waited over an hour to speak with someone and then was cut off.

my restaurant was temporarily closed due to covid 19. Unable to pay my credit card bill I was given a 30 day extension from American Express. I was told to call back before April 20th if still unable to pay then.

I called today April 17th, and was told they only allow 30 day extensions and nothing more. If I don't make a payment today, there isn't anything they can do to help me. They also said I should have another source of income.

I've been a member since 2002. By the way, all other credit card companies gave a 60 or 90 day extension.

I have been called by American Express that they would like to put me through a review. A review meaning sending in your tax returns which I have turned around and sent them same day. About 30 days later they asked me to please send my corporate tax returns which I have done about 30 days later they asked for additional year as in 2017 tax returns Nobody gets back to you all my cards have been cut off

Sent 2 AM EX cards. Paid on x- no problems. UNTIL a man I did not know- couldn’t tie to American Express- called my husband- and demanded 3 years of tax returns to be faxed to him. All information was factual on the 60 second application on my phone—- my attorneys/my accountant/Vice President of my bank all said a resounding NO to sending such personal information to a fax-that emphasized DO NOT EMAIL RESPONSE BACK. I’m not being denigrating.

My husband couldn’t understand the man he spoke to- and because we refused to send our tax returns- they froze/suspended the account. They won’t accept payment of the small amount due... and we’re in a limbo. They put late payments on my husbands credit report- BUT WE PAID!!!!!

How do we fight this?

I signed up for the Hilton honors card last September, when I signed, the offer is spend 1000 dollars within 3 months get 100000 Hilton points. So I got the card and fulfilled the spending requirements within the time limit.

American Express did not give me bonus points. I called them they said it’s because I closed my delta card within 6 months. But in the Hilton honors sign up page, it didn’t say someone could disqualify if they closed delta card.
