I have been trying for over a month to resolve a problem with my card having charges that are not mine. It has been impossible to speak with anyone at the number on back of card. Several times I waited over an hour to speak with someone and then was cut off.

I have written two letters already trying to resolve this problem with no response. I requested a new card and they sent me a card with the same number just a new code. When I tried to activate it for the very first time I was told I had exceeded the attempts to do so and must contact customer service!

I am holder of AMEX PLATINUM CARD No 3798 712739 61000 valid till 5/24. I have received SMS today from the bank stating my outstanding Dues to be Rs 17868.93 with a request for minimum payment of Rs 894.00 This has come to me as a surprise since you can check from my pass records that I have never used it Generally for over 3000-4000. my restaurant was temporarily closed due to covid 19. Unable to pay my credit card bill I was given a 30 day extension from American Express. I was told to call back before April 20th if still unable to pay then.

I called today April 17th, and was told they only allow 30 day extensions and nothing more. If I don't make a payment today, there isn't anything they can do to help me. They also said I should have another source of income.

I've been a member since 2002. By the way, all other credit card companies gave a 60 or 90 day extension.

I have been called by American Express that they would like to put me through a review. A review meaning sending in your tax returns which I have turned around and sent them same day. About 30 days later they asked me to please send my corporate tax returns which I have done about 30 days later they asked for additional year as in 2017 tax returns Nobody gets back to you all my cards have been cut off

Sent 2 AM EX cards. Paid on x- no problems. UNTIL a man I did not know- couldn’t tie to American Express- called my husband- and demanded 3 years of tax returns to be faxed to him. All information was factual on the 60 second application on my phone—- my attorneys/my accountant/Vice President of my bank all said a resounding NO to sending such personal information to a fax-that emphasized DO NOT EMAIL RESPONSE BACK. I’m not being denigrating.

My husband couldn’t understand the man he spoke to- and because we refused to send our tax returns- they froze/suspended the account. They won’t accept payment of the small amount due... and we’re in a limbo. They put late payments on my husbands credit report- BUT WE PAID!!!!!

How do we fight this?

I signed up for the Hilton honors card last September, when I signed, the offer is spend 1000 dollars within 3 months get 100000 Hilton points. So I got the card and fulfilled the spending requirements within the time limit.

American Express did not give me bonus points. I called them they said it’s because I closed my delta card within 6 months. But in the Hilton honors sign up page, it didn’t say someone could disqualify if they closed delta card.

Been a member since 1989 and never missed a payment. While changing banks I called AMEX to make sure they received my latest payment. I was told no problem they had received my payment and all was fine. Three days later I was sent an e-mail closing my account.

I have a Serve account, recently I had $108. refund from Famous Footwear and it has been sitting on my card but I cannot use it (it's Christmas in 3 days) it's listed as a Merchant Credit Hold, I checked with FF and they said it was released on Dec 15 and gave me a transaction number, I called Amex Serve and they refuse to do anything, to check, to call their bank, NOTHING!!

There is fraudulent activity on my AE serve card and I have spoken with several different representatives in customer service regarding this issue since October 6, 2019 about a charge from Pizza Hut in Fort Wayne, IN.

I do not live in Fort Wayne, IN and have never been to Fort Wayne, IN. The card is in my possession so I do not understand how these charges were even made. It seems that someone on the AE team is a partner in these crimes as it has not been resolved.

I have been proactive in contacting Pizza Hut myself as of 10/12/2019. I have never had a problem with this card until this year once in September which was for $8.00 and now in October for $84.00. My rewards always posted later than they should have, and I question the tabulation because the company is so vague about it by phone and do not provide details on statements. My most recent contact was to redeem rewards and pay off my balance.

I had not used the card for purchases since mid-July. It is now mid-September and past the monthly statement period. I was told I still had some rewards pending, which didn't seem correct since they should already be available. 00 currently available because only $25 increments can be redeemed.

I told her to forget it because this didn't seem correct either. I logged in and was able to redeem the full credit (you only need a minimum of $25 in order to redeem, not just increments of $25) and applied this to my balance.

I will lose a 40 something…

Starting on 09/04/19 I called in to authorize a charge of $25,000 on my Morgan Stanley American Express card of which I've been a card holder for 48 years. I spoke with a young lady and gave her the details of my purchase and received a pre. authorization .

She indicated if I had any issues with the transaction to call back and the charge would be processed on the spot. As I attempted to complete my purchase part of the transaction was declined. I called in and was placed on hold and finally transferred to Bobbi Smith Employee ID number 655118.

I opened a Hilton Honors AE credit card a few months ago with the promotional offer of $100 statement credit and 75000 hilton honors points if i spend $1000 within 3 months. I have spent $1000 and was told I am ineligible for the offer.

I was never notified of this when I completed the on line application! In fact when i activated tge account and asked about the offer i was also not told i was ineligible I would have gotten rewards with other cards for tge $1000 i spent.

We have been with Amex for many tears and have always paid our accounts on time. When we started experiencing some financial hardship problems due to family issues there was 0 compassion nor would they work with us to try and get our accounts under control.

As we tried multiple times to get help we usually spoke with someone in another country of which we could barley understand and they cared even less, they were arrogant and had no solutions to offer just double talk. My wife and I have discussed this and at this time it will be unlikely we would use your cards again or recommend Amex.

I have been trying since March 2019 to straighten out an account that was closed February 2019. It has turned out to be a very unpleasant experience. Many phone calls different agents with different opinions with each call. Refusing to send an itemized bill to the original account opening address which is Box 146 W. Milford, NJ 07480.

I am a independent advisor and have contacted Amex more than 15 times together with a Brazilian client who is trying to reinstate her card since March 2019! The saga started in February when her husband passed away and was the primary holder of the card ( she was the second card holder).

we contacted Amex to inform about his death and ask to reinstate the card. After various calls with many customer services who every time will give a different information she decided to cancel the card and issue a new one and loose all the point earned for more than 20 years.

My available credit was reduced when I did not ask for a reduction after spending years with you and paying on time. You have betrayed a faithful customer therefore I’m making huge payments for now on and closing my American Express accounts.

I purchased a gift card for a team member back in May. The card could not be activated. I reached out several times for over a month without a response or assistance. I was asked to send in the receipt, a picture of the card, and my drivers license. I did.

I was told I would receive follow up and never have. Fast forward to 7 weeks later, I still have not received a replacement card or follow up from anyone! Everytime I call, I am transferred to a gift card department which does not answer the phone. This is beyond ridiculous.

I was mislead by AMEX. I signed up for the 75,000 SPG promotion and I was denied after I used it for 4 months and after I complied with all requirements for the 75,000.

I am deeply disappointed in AMEX. This is a first experience where I felt mislead by American Express. I feel as though AMEX has received all my payments in full including my $450 annual fee. Now, AMEX is in a profitable position to deny the little man. Yes, I am a simple Arizona School Teacher. I am not interested in the benefits that come along with this card. Only, the 75,000 points.

This is to bring your attention to some of the flawed processes that I noticed.

I always wanted to have a Amex card so for the first time I applied for one through Delta SkyMile Program and it got "Approved" and when the approval page was showing me the Card Number and all, one notification was flashing on my screen from Delta that was saying my "Session" about to expire and so mistakenly I clicked Log out and the Screen was gone.

So I called Amex customer service to help me as I needed that very first Amex card to book my flight.

but after a long discussion, I got to know I can't do it as they don't have any access to the card number.

My mother was the primary account holder for American Express card #3772 690581 01045 in which I was an authorized user on the account. On December 2, 2018, my mother passed. There was an outstanding balance on the account of approximately $7,000.

Upon contacting American Express to notify them of my mother's passing, I was told that a copy of the death certificate would need to be provided. 00 and having the card and responsibility to be changed over from Martha Miller (the deceased) to Marcia Miller.

I was advised a soft credit check would be ran in order to qualify the account to be placed on my name. I was assured that the $378 payment would be immediately refunded if the credit application was denied. On January 31, 2019 I made the minimum payment of $378.

When I changed my email address a few years ago, I made sure I changed ALL email correspondence with the businesses I have accounts. my correct email was visible but for some reason, my payment reminder went to my old, unmonitored email.

I received a letter from a business, of whom I gave my AMEX card to make auto withdraws, that my account was past due. I was confused so I called Macy's/AmEx. The rep. told me the email change did not take effect on their end (it was on my end).

So, she changed my email to the correct one and told her to take my (late) payment from the bank on file. This was on April 15th. The NEXT day, April 16th, I received an email on my old account (I usually make sure people do what they say they did), not my new account!!

When I went to use my gift card from American Express, the restaurant could only use a portion of it. 00 We tried to use it at another restaurant and they could not get it to register, and they did accept American Express cards.

00 Again, we took it to a restaurant, but was told that it would not register the balance. It appears that there is some kind of scam going on here. We have not had any other issues with other gift cards.

I recommend that no one buys an American Express gift card!

Seeing how many other one-star reports there are here, I'm not sure what good this will do, but here goes.

After paying off a bunch of debt and finally getting my credit score high enough, I applied for an AmEx card because of the entertainment benefits available to cardholders (better seating, presales, etc.). I was given the option to get temporary details for the card in case I wanted to use it for purchases before the physical card arrived. I noted the details, thinking I might need them for any kind of access to the account prior to receiving the physical card.

I have an American Express serve card. I transferred $400 from the reserve to the checking account, and when I went to go withdraw the money , my transaction was declined. $75 decline fee. When I went back into my account, to see why it kept declining, the $400 was completely gone.

When I called customer service, I explained what happened, and the rep was no help, and I was transferred. When I spoke to next person I was told that on their end it says the money was dispensed, I then explained to her that it could not have said that because the first transaction was immediately declined.

I am receiving calls daily , up to three times a day at times , with the caller ID saying---- American Express, with the number 623-492-7140 on my caller ID. I would request someone call this number and verify it is your company AND/OR tell whoever it is to stop unwanted robo calls.

Had identity theft. Filed a police report and know who the perpetrator was, who admitted to the crime. After contacting them 10 separate occasions and telling me my name would be cleared, Amex still has not done so after 6 months.

I called regarding my credit line since not having used the card in some time and my line was lowered. I could not speak to anyone in the United States and do not trust the person who would not tell me where he was located. With all the fraud going on today not being able to contact anyone from the USA is extremely disturbing. At this point, I tried to go online. Your site is so complicated I just gave up. I was overcharged about $180 for Justin Timberlake’s concert on Feb 21, 2019 in San Diego. My seat was way up high in the arena-2 more rows it would hit the wall. I checked with people around me and they told me they paid between $50 and $80 for the same row where I was.

On top of that The American Express sent me an email they offered that one-day presale of the concert in Dec 2018. I assumed that presale offer should be special but not a deception. I was not able to enjoy what I had paid.

I was billed for an entire year for NETFLIX service and I was paying on another card for that same service. I only noticed it when they began billing me TWICE a month for the same service . The total was about $200.

Good Afternoon, I want to start off by saying I really love my American express card and have referred lots of family and friends to you guys. but today I am soooo disappointed. I have been on hold for 50 minutes twice without speaking to anyone after being transferred twice to this dispute department.

I only want to file a dispute for 2 transactions on my account that was charged double to my account. I have never experienced anything like this in my life. I also called back to speak to a supervisor and the customer service rep said she was transferring me and instead she hung up.

On Jan 16th, I received my advance tax refund. On that same day hackers accessed my account and spent $1100! I contacted the Amex Express serve fraud department right away. They told me I had to wait until the charges cleared before I could put in the dispute.

So, I waited till Jan 18th then opened a dispute for three charges totaling $1100! I noticed that the charges were all done in Florida! Did I mention that I live in Houston! The charges were done on the same day that I was shopping in Florida.

There is not person by that name and I do not know a person by that name. The phone number they are leaving the voice mail on is 706 405-4503. I have 3 AMEX Cards. Customer for 20 years. Have automatic payment set up on two cards. Added the third card to automatic right after I got it. Then I got a notice that the payment was late. So I called and we re did the automatic payment because the AMEX work did not put it in.

At this point I was assured that it was all set and all good. There was no late charges and no collections or credit bureau contact or info that would go out. BUT shortly thereafter I was notified by credit bureaus that it did go to them.

I disputed it with credit bureaus on changed to and ruled in my favor but not the other and I also asked AMEX to remedy since it was based on incompetence or ineptness or lack of attention on their employees part on at least two instances. Nothing.

My credit is still excellent…

I have been with American express for 19 years you lower my credit limit, charge me late fees for being late one month excuse me for having a heart attach , living alone, and not able to make the payment on time .

Called the customer service line and was told there was nothing that can be done . and for being a loyal customer I get sorry your screwed.. thank you very much American express!

80 and I would get my money back on Nov 26,18. I called Wed, Fri, and Monday and all the days I called I was told I would have my money back on Nov 26, 18. I spoke to someone today Nov 26,18 at 6am and was also told it would be back on my card by this afternoon.

When I checked again it was not on there so I called and was told that I would not be getting my money back and also that they never did the dispute this after for the past 4 days that I was told it would be back today. I set up to pay my light bill today based on what your company employees told me.
