I have no heat or refrigerator for over a month. I have spent over 9 hours on the phone with customer service reps that CAN NOT HELP me. There is no way to escalate my issues to a decision maker - this is one of the most frustrating experiences of my life.

Confirming my complaint-

We initiated a service on Oct. 29 believing you were true to your contract and we would be contacted by a licensed electrician within 48 hours to perform service to our electrical system which is not working in 1/3 of the house...no heat (not even space heaters, no electricity in 1/3 of the house... computers, etc., only work in certain rooms. I have to have my furnace replaced they tell u they are gonna replace it but don’t tell u about the little things not in clouded they are a sneaks company. I was todo out of pocket it would be $625 I accepted now a couple of days late it’s 1400 so no one can explain to me where that is coming from.

I will recommend people that I know to leave home shield. I can’t wait to get on social media about this.

American Home Shiekd is very unfair. Not accommodating or caring about customers. I am 82, cancer patient, fixed income. Furnace problem, possible carbon monoxide escape and no one cares. Only care about money and payments. I am writing corporate office as well. Cheap replacements.

i submitted a service request on october 23 for my water heater. my request was referred to a contractor. i called the contractor 3 times over the course of the next day (october 24). I called american home shield later on the 24th to find out why i couldnt get in touch.

i discovered that the contractor is on vacation and would not be able to accept the job. my request was referred to another contractor. the contractor came out on the morning of 10/25. the contractor came out and indicated that they would not repair/replace the water heater due to the fact that they would have to tear out the wall to remove and install a new one.

I have had an open claim regarding my upstairs air conditioning unit since August 24, 2022. I have an assigned contractor, Anthem Mechanical. Anthem assessed my unit and determined that I needed a new air condenser. After waiting patiently (I didn't call askinging for updates), the unit was installed on September 19, 2022.

I paid Anthem $1,975 by check. Unfortunately, it didn't cool, so I made a call to Anthem on October 8, 2022, and they sent someone out on October 10, 2022. It was then determined that the condenser was defective, and I needed 2 coils instead of just replacing the defective unit.

AHS approved the coils, but the coils were backordered for 3 weeks, maybe a month. The other coil which is located in the attic was still needed to complete the job. AHS DID NOT APPROVE this…

The company brought an electrician to our home in June. He had to take our bedroom light with him to fix it (a ceiling fan type).

It is 4 months later and the man has still not returned our light. Turns out, that he has closed up shop and is in the process of moving (not his business but himself, business is staying closed).

AHS has given me nothing but a run around this week. They have given be several different times of when I will receive a "decision" on my light and that day comes, only to get a new date of resolution.

Do NOT use them!!!! 4 months of no light/fan in our master bedroom....with me having proof of the electrician with the item in their shop and him asking me to choose a new one to replace it, is ENOUGH. Their lies MUST STOP!!!!

After a technician had just left my home from installation of parts on my water heater it stopped working. I immediately called the company and asked them to come back. They said that they would I would have to contact AHS to have them to come back that day.

AHS refused to expedite the service even though the technician had just left. They said it was not an emergency even though I had been without hot water going on 4 weeks. I asked to speak to a manager or supervisor which didn’t happen.

I was promised one would call on Friday I am still waiting on the call. Horrible service

The single Worst customer experience of my life. The customer service representatives can not speak, nor understand English well and have zero problem resolution skills. I had my well pump go out (which was covered in my plan). I had to make several phone calls to try and get someone to service it.

After 5 DAYS WITHOUT WATER.. and 13 PHONE CALLS they finally allows me to go outside of there network to get assistance … but wait .. it gets better… they kept submitting my request and then saying I had ri wait 4 hours and call back for outside approval number.

I requested service on Aug 30th for replacement of my gas furnace. 7. I STILL have not received any contact from your representative. I HAVE contacted your service dept daily for the past two weeks and continue to get the run around.

I’m not pleased with the purchasing department costumers service. I had the microwaves replaced after going through 2 process of ordering because of lacking the follow up from them. I had wasted my time and energy to get it resolved.

She promised issues Service fee refund about 3weeks, and I had to call 4x to get it reissued again , so now I had to wait another 7-10days and I hope it really happens . I could have invest my time and money to be worth it.

My washer needed to be repaired their contractor Big Bend Appliance came out on June 15, 2022, and advised me of the parts required to repair my washer to date the contractor has been unable to get the part needed to fix my washer and has no idea when the part will be available.

Getting the run around for months about multiple issues in my home. The dishwasher was repaired 4 times in a month and they wont replace it. Just wasting money. I has someone come out to fix and leak in my barhroom facuet.

I am still waiting on a reimbursement check for a repair I paid full cost for. I have been waiting for 2 months. I’ve called at least 10 times only to be told the check should come and wait 21 business days. This has happened twice!!

My refrigerator door hinge is broken but AHS refuses to cover it because they say it's an accessory. That it is not necessary to the function of the refrigerator and is therefore an accessory.

First of all, it's not an accessory.

Second, my contract clearly states "all parts are covered" under refrigerator. There is no disclaimer, no asterisk, period.

Lastly, if it wasn't covered why did you send out a repair company to fix it? Oh I know! You make some money, the repair place makes some money. Sounds like a win-win for you, while I'm screwed out of $75 and nothing is fixed.

Don't you have any morals AHS??? Dumb question at this point.

The company uses an out-of-country call center. You cannot reach anyone outside the call center to resolve disputes. I have a policy that includes water heater replacement, it is an 80n gal heater, and they will only agree to a 50ngal heater. They do ni honor their contracts, have terrible customer service, and take days to respond to issues. I have not had hot water for three days, it takes two days to escalate the problem.

They intentionally delay callbacks on disputed items so that the customer will settle. They are without ethics and have no concern that the policyholder is without water or hot water. Had dryer problem. Sears dispatched out. Said dryer was fine. It was electrical problem. Paid for electrician to come. SURPRISE no electrical issue. Asked for Sears to come back. They claim they did at my scheduled time and that I wasn’t home.

Sears never even told me they were here. I was home. Now they’re claiming they’ve come to my house again. Never came. Customer service won’t help me because they can’t do anything because Sears tells them the issue is fixed.

I had a service call for my oven and the part has not come in I’m without an oven for over 2 months.

Recently my AC air handler was leaving Maselli air came out and said air handler was no good and needed to be replaced American homeshield wanted to send another co out and they said it was no good but could not do job because installer was 65 years old and it’s a small attic. American Homeshield has dropped the ball for me. I am sick & hot. My central cooling has been out since August 22 nd 2022. They finally orded parts ans sent a repairmen on September tte second of September. I was so happy but ny smiles didn't last long when I realized the repairmen had fix nothing.

He should've been required to make sure the unit worked before he left my house. I'm very angry today. Because I know they'll probably try to order parts for this old unit and that will probably require more waiting.

There has been NO correct solution to repairing my central air conditioning. I am a Retired, Disabled Veteran with over 22 years of service your the United States Army. It is a shame how I have been treated. I requested service assistance for my A/C unit this year and on 13 July 2022, AHS sent Peycor INC out to assess the problem.

Evaporator coil was cleaned, a leaked was stopped. We were told an Evaporator coil needed to be ordered. It took 1 month to come back and install the evaporator coil. Numerous calls were made prior to the company coming back.

I pay every month for service that says 24hr 7 days a week service. My tub handle broke @ 12 midnight I called AHS an Asian women answered she could barely could understand me. I asked for emergency service to cut the water off do no flooding she put me on hold said she called two company's no answer.

I asked for the names. I looked them up they were closed and closed at 8 and didn't open until 8 they also have F rating at the better business bureau several complaints. Regardless I never got a call until the next afternoon which means I could of had a flooded house upstairs.

Unable to reach someone in the United States who understands English and can properly provide services! My high end refrigerator/freezer has been broken since June. Two companies came out and one tried fixing it four times. It worked for one to two weeks and died again costing my thousands in food that had to be thrown away each time.

Each time I have called I try to explain that my unit needs a technician CERTIFIED IN CLOSED SYSTEM REFRIGERATION. My unit is a closed system similar to a sub zero or Wolff brand. There are very few technicians that are certified to work on this.

I had an air conditioning emergency situation. It was over 105 degrees and the AC failed. I called for service and got an agent in the Philippines that couldn’t hardly speak English. Rooster crowing in the background. Put on hold over an hour.

Then after asking for a supervisor put on hold again.

Finally told they couldn’t get to me for 3-5 days. Then told I should handle it myself. I am so very disappointed. When I decided to cancel it again took over an hour on the phone to the Philippines with another agent I couldn’t understand.

I called Tuesday 8/23/2022 to request a/c repair. It's 5 days later, my 8/29/2022 appointment was canceled on 24th. Good thing I looked at my account online. Contractor says AHS canceled appointment, AHS says contractor canceled. 13 calls later no success.

So Monday us including our 91 year old mom will be in 93+ degree heat for 8 days. Oh 1 thing they did take care of promptly. They charged me my $100 service fee within 6 hours of me calling.

I requested a supervisor, she did call me, but upon returning her call the mobile # she used to call me wasn't taking calls. How convenient. Not to mention it takes 48 hours for a supervisor to reach you. My next review will be very blunt if I still don't have a/c in my home. BTW.

First off, to whomever is reading this, I urge you to read the fine print on your contract with American Home Shield. I signed up with AHS in June of 2021 as they were having a promotion that allowed you to get their “ShieldPlatinum" plan for the price of their "ShieldGold” plan.

Basically, it was $55 a month and covered everything you could imagine including a free HVAC service once a year and unlimited refrigerant for your AC. I told them our house was 50 years old and that I especially worried about our 25-year-old furnace and AC system.

I inputted a claim for my dryer on 8/15/22. I was told the contractor will contact me within 24hrs. When I check my status Wednesday 8/16/22 someone had canceled my request but never notified me. I put in a new request on 8/16/22.

The company who suppose to fix the dryer rejected the request and I was told in 24hrs a new company would contact me. That company never called me but when I called American home shield they told me my appointment was set for 8/17/22.

Water heater improperly installed by Bestway Mechanical. Per Google all water heaters should 18 in off the floor. There’s water around the bottom of the tank. I was told in was outside the 30 day installation period and I would have to pay another service fee.

Mind you I paid an additional $750 dollars for a new expansion take and other parts.

After not being able to get an understandable answer from the cs agent, I asked to speak with her supervisor. She finally said ok after asking a fourth time. She then placed me on hold for 15-20 minutes before coming back to me to say that someone from escalations dept was ready to help me.

At no time during that wait time did she come back to me to let me know to continue holding. Nor did she ever let me speak with her supervisor as I requested.

I truly hope this review gets posted so maybe it can save other people the trouble and miserable experience. Purchased a home and instantly did a bunch remodel and updates so thought it was a good idea to get a whole home warranty to cover it all! It was NOT!

We Purchased the highest package American Home Shield had to offer, luckily didn't need anything for the 1st 9-10 months of our year contract but sadly our heat pump that was only 4 years old went out so we called AHS for the 1st time... this was the day EVERYTHING started to go down hill.

I have been trying to get my dishwasher and dryer fixed since June. I have opened a claim and 1st no tech came out and my ticket was closed. I requested different service tech and they came, parts have been ordered and some have come but nobody has come out and my service ticket keeps getting closed.

I have asked for a supervisor to call me and nothing happens. I pay for service and I can’t even get that.
