Good day. I booked a rental through Priceline confirmation number 24440961US6. I had made this booking in February.. as you can see the confirmed price was $266 USD when I arrived however the agent would not honour the booking and I was charged a price of $466 USD with a new contract.

I contacted customer service and was informed that my reservation was entered as a US citizen and I am Canadian. I can’t believe that was their answer! My Avis membership clearly shows my information.

Avis is an unethical and dishonest company. 64 y old wife made a reservation for Philadelphia (confirmed and not same day reservation). Upon arriving from Florida for funeral for her father, went to pick up location and was told they have no cars. Stranded, at pickup location they said nothing they could do to assist - they have no cars.

AGAIN THERE WAS NO ASSISTANCE NOR HELP PROVIDED OR OFFERED. COMPLETELY ABANDONED BY AVIS

This should NEVER happen to any traveler. AVIS, willing to strand a customer in a strange city should NEVER be a consideration for rentals.

We did call AVIS customer service (Philippines initially then US upon complaining) who advise Avis policy is to take reservations without confirming pick up location availability. Was told that customer service representatives…

Never trust your confirmation number that is given. The dates that I gave did not coincide with the dates of my rental and it ruined my whole vacation because I was overcharged, had to take a different car, had to return back a car and get another car.

It was an awful experience with no help or remorse for any missed guidance that they gave me. They couldn’t even give me the right car when I went out to the garage to pick up my car. Very upset.

I have been renting from budget Avis for years and I will never come back or let anyone else come back.

We have had problems with our rental we constantly have to add air to the driver's passenger side tire every time we turn into a parking spot it has a knock noise not sure what it is we drove it to San Antonio but we had to park it at our hotel the whole entire time just to at least get us home without having any issues.

I would like to trade this car on Monday where I rented it in White Settlement Texas at the Walmart for another vehicle cuz on Wednesday we're leaving to Missouri and I don't want to have issues with this vehicle thank you

I am submitting this complaint because of the inconvenience that I experience during my rental. To start the line was ridiculous, it was stated that the line was extra long because Payless rental was the short staff and sent their customers to Avis.

After standing on ling for 30 minutes and receiving my rental contract I proceeded to the car and was told by the agent checking the cars out that this car is not what I was assigned, I showed her my contact and location of the car and then was told to go on.

Once I started driving the check engine line kept coming on and the car service light also kept coming on. At this time I was aggravated and was not going to go back on another line. During the weekend these lights continued to come on.

Shame on you Avis for trying to scam me of $450 for “EXCESSIVE GARBAGE” upon my rental return on 2/1/22 at Miami International Airport! I have been researching this and it appears that this is a common AVIS deceptive practice or trying to defraud your customers with these fictitious and overpriced fees! $450 is way more than my entire rental was!! Plus, I reviewed the pictures and it is nothing more than the typical return from a weekly family vacation with kids. I have rented from countless other rental car companies in the past and never once have been charged this fee! The Avis at Costa Rica Liberia airport took advantage of my wife and over charged our credit card. And I’m getting phone numbers and emails from the place that I booked that don’t work. They are telling me they can’t help and I’m out of luck. Very unprofessional service.

com and prepaid for 3 weeks. I called and asked how much insurance was and was told $15 a day, when I arrived they told me I had to pay $25 a day. After I dropped off the vehicle I was charged over $1000 for insurance for 21 days which is around $50 a day. Very unethical company!

When I call Avis at the airport he says he can’t help. It seems like they took advantage of my wife cause I was not there. I would like to talk to someone and get some of my money back as my wife was over charged and lied to my this company.

Rented a car from Avis. Found tire low on air following morning, slow leak. Called them to fix, and they sent someone how put on temp spare, but did not fix tire. Due to the limited speed and distance available with this tire, could not use car during the week and were very concerned about the long drive back to the airport.

Although not said at the time, they charged us to change the tire and fix the tire, even though we think the damage was done before renting. Most troubling is there response to our claim is that since we did not have photo proof of the damage before accepting the car, it was our problem.

5 hours after call they had uber pick me up about an hour later to take me to an AVIS location to get a replacement car when we got to the AVIS location they were closed I called AVIS customer service and was told "Not our fault because your in a different time zone" So they did not know the time difference between Scottsdale AZ and Florida where I think their office is and

they did not know what time the AVIS location they were sending me to closed? Now almost 4 hours after the problem was reported they want me to travel 45 minutes back to the Phoenix facility for another car Good customer service would offer to deliver another car to me for the inconvience-not AVIS FU AVIS !

I had travelled to Detroit and rented a car. I had filled up the gas all the way and when I returned the car I was told I had to pay for gas as the GPS tracker or whatever system you have said the gas was not full.

I took the picture and also got the person at the return station to sign off that indeed the gas was full . Please process a refund at the earliest. Tks

Rented a 12-passenger van for family vacation. The one we looked at was in very nice shape when we made the reservation. The one that was delivered to us was deplorable. As soon as you open door it wreaked of marijuana.

The seats were stained and dirty. I couldn't even tell what color the carpeting was. One of the windows was non-operational. This was a joke. We had to alter our plans for vacation which ultimately cost us

The van that I was going to rent for a family vacation was so disgusting that I was unable to take it. I couldn't even tell what color the carpeting was what was left of the carpeting anyway. The seats were stained and dirty.

One of the windows did not work at all and would have to be left in the open position. I had to make emergency alternate plans and get another vehicle.

Good Morning,

I would like to air my complaint for an issue that occurred during the last rental I had in France. I rented a car in Paris and returned it in Nantes. Rental date was 4th September.

I have informed that I had to traffic fines. That is ok. But I have been charged €84 administration fee which is totally unacceptable because: First of all, €42 is already exorbitant, but mostly because I would have expected that at least I would be charged only one time.

Therefore I am asking the company to refund me at least €42 and only charge once for the administration during a single rental period.

I walked in to get some information about a long-term rental for a business trip I must take later this month. There were three employees behind the counter. One was new. One appeared to be a manager. Another employee walked in with her very young son.

The manager left to help another customer and asked the young lady with the child to give me the info that I needed however she was preoccupied with her little boy. I waited about 10 minutes for someone to be able to help me.

When I voiced my annoyance and said I understand what it's like not to be able to afford daycare but I still expect some assistance,she responded that she could afford daycare just as the manager/mother walked in and asked me in a hostile manner what problem did I have with her daughter and grandson.

I had wait over 20 minutes on the phone to get them to email me my receipt.

At the top of my receipt in bold font it said, “We are proud to feature a 100% smoke-free fleet!” The car STUNK of cigarette smoke! It was horrible.

We topped of the tank 6 miles from the airport but Avis charged me a $16 fuel service fee.

I rented a car on July 2,21 and paid a holding fee of $200. It is going on July 16, 21 and I still have not received my money back on my card. I have call severely times to speak to a customer service worker.

I have been giving the run away and leave on hold for hours and just getting transferred to different departments. I have ask to speak to a supervision or a manager to try to get the problem resolve but still no help and all ways told someone is going to call me back and never receive a call from nobody.

When I rented the car I was told my money would be released in 2 days back on my card and that was a fault statement. I'm not a happy customer and dissatisfied with the service I received from avis rental service.

I wanted to contact the local office to ask them a couple of questions. I have placed calls to this branch to 317-358-8101 LITERALLY 100's of times to reach someone in the office. I also called several other Indianapolis locations and was able to reach someone in other locations but I was told by the other branches that the location on E. I have made a reservation twice and someone wrote my name wrong in the system. I have ran around like a fool trying to get it fixed. I was told supervisors couldn't help me. I definitely know how to spell my last name and this isn't my fault.

I recently became a Avis Wizard member and was excited to receive great customer service. Reference Confirmation Number 25005774US3. On February 5, 2020. I picked up my vehicle and noticed a smoke odor throughout the vehicle. The further I drove the vehicle the more it became apparent to me that someone had smoked in the vehicle prior to me. For the rental period of a week, I had to deal with the smell of smoke in the vehicle with my family. It was so disgusting. that we rarely used the vehicle during our vacation visiting with family and friends.

I did call the Avis Jacksonville International Airport location and let them know of the smoke smell in the vehicle so I would not be charged any additional fees. They further suggested I file a compliant on line.

Never again! Booked a Car online for pickup in Frankfurt Germany for a 3 Week vacation. 73. I declined any extras, but was charged for a GPS which I didn’t need since I have my own. Returned car with a full tank of gas and had no traffic infractions.

Unfortunate I signed the hard to read computer screen (no more paper contracts). Should you use AVIS Rent a Car, make sure you read that Computer screen no matter how long it takes and do not be concerned about a lineup.

It seems they will slip in all kinds of charges and get away with it. I for one will never use AVIS again.

5 hrs late. The lady at the front desk said she has to charge me for an additional day, so fair enough i stated i will just bring the car back tommorow before 6:00 pm. The girl refused to give the keys back to me charged me for an additional 24 hr rental without giving me the courtesy of use of the car.

To me that is the same as stealing in the real world. I think a fair resolution would to have a hourly rate for such occasions not just rip your consumer off. The only thing missing was a gun held on me with the theft and the fuck you attitude.

I have two complaints one concerning the vehicle I chose not being available and the second concerning the fact that Avis has not returned at least a portion of the credit card deposit.

They refused to add me as a driver onto a reservation because I was 23 years old. After speaking to them and mentioning to them that on their only age policy it states they can add me as a driver there just an additional daily fee that will be charged.

Even after mentioning it they still would not allow me to be listed as an additional driver to our reservation. The original driver is age 41 just wanted me to be added as a second driver in case I would have to drive back and be sure in case of a police stop.

We rented a car from the airport in Catania, Sicily, Italy from Sept 12 -26 2019. We were advised to rent a GPS which we did. The GPS could not find any of our destinations and was completely useless. We talked to the people at the Airport in Catania and all they said was to write to the complaint department. So I am writing to you …..I do not think I should have paid for a GPS that was useless. We used our phones instead and google found all of the places that we needed to find. Your GPS was so out of date ...we took pictures of situations where the GPS took us off the road to deadend places and told us to keep going.....it was not only ridiculous it was down right dangerous.

After renting an Avis Car online via American Airlines I pick up a car at the Reno International Airport on 9/10/2019 at 11:00am. At 10:00am I went to the Avis Counter at the airport and asked to pickup the car, they said ok and repriced the contract for the 1 hour change.

The next day I returned to the Avis Counter to put a second driver on the contract so you were aware that 2 different people would be operating the vehicle and they again repriced the contact. The $208 original price is now $325.

Tonight 9/12/2019 the second driver wanted to extent the contract from 10:00am 9/13/2019 to 10:00pm on 9/13/2019. The new price would have been $424!!!! 5 days. This was the first time that I can remember renting from Avis and it appears to be the last time for at least time many people.…

I had arranged for a car rental with Avis - Confirmation # 16750657US0. Car was to be picked up at the Hilton Head Airport in Hilton Head, South Carolina. My flight was DL6074with a scheduled arrival time of 9:30 PM on August 30, 2019.

If this is the second complaint from me I apologize and disregard this. I have filled this form out once and when I submitted it said there was an error so I am not sure that you got it.

First, I would like to say that my experience was great up until I returned the car. The car was great and the agent who rented it to me was kind and helpful. I pull into the lot to return the car and I am directed to park it in a certain spot.

The lot was jam-packed full of cars and to get the car turned around and into that spot would have been pretty difficult. I attempted to turn the car around but gave up quickly for fear of damaging something. I stop in a safe place and get out of the car.

The owner and operator at the Avis at Pierre SD. My son had emergency surgery and my wife flew up to see him. He had complications and is flying out of Bismarck. I called the Pierre location to ask for help but nobody answered.

I called the cell line nobody answered. I called them 6 more times over the next 3 hours.

Reservation number 08003154US5 - picked up car in Las Vegas on June 16, 2019. Yolanda was my contact at the desk. She was very rude - didn't want me to ask questions. Every time I would start talking - she would cut me off.

When I asked about giving information about an additional driver, she said she didn't need anything. I was told on the initial reservation, Avis would need the information at time of pickup. I asked her about the additional charges and she couldn't tell me what they were - except "taxes".

Deceptive pricing. Original reservation was around $350 with Priceline. When I picked up the car it was over $550.

It was explained to me by the agent delivering the paperwork at the time of pickup that Massachusetts required toll tag to be included. I was Ok with it. I expected to pay the tolls but was surprised by a 19.75 convenience fee to service 15.00 worth of tolls. I was not advised of the fee in advance. I will not use Avis again for this reason.

As far as service delivery and return was seamless. Too bad about the deceptive pricing. I think more customer care is needed in this area. You need to advise customer of all charges before they are surprised by them.

Dear Avis,

I am not a person that makes a habit of writing letters of complaint. However, with what happened to me today concerning the break-down of a car I have rented from you, and the way it was dealt with by your company, I have been left no choice but to write this letter in the hope that you make some changes to your service and therefore other people will not have to suffer in the way I have today.

1. At no time did either of the avis shuttle drivers offer to help with luggage or assistance in seating customers. 2. At he return process in Denver Airport: a. It was pouring rain and the car return is outside and not covered b.

The person at the return again did not ask to assist in unloading luggage or in any other manner 3. Other than the person at the rental counter I found LL PEOPLE AT THE Denver FACILITY RATHER RUDE AND NOT VERY HELPFUL TO ANY CUSTOMER 4.

It is unlikely I will use the Denver Avis again and would not recommend to my friends and family.

NEVER USE AVIS CAR RENTAL! Showed up at the Shannon airport this morning with a reasonable rental rate for 8 days. Declined insurance coverage (already declined on reservation) as my Chase Sapphire Visa covers all costs. Was then informed that I would have to have an almost $5700 USD hold charge added to my credit card if I declined insurance.

This is a complete con artist scheme!! Said ok to insurance and then hours later discover that the insurance charges added to bill were almost 400 euro!!! This insurance scam charge was over what the rental fee was for 8 days!!!!

69 on my credit card. On 5/16/19 in the early morning I called Avis to find out why I was charged and they said because I didn't fill it up. The Avis Supervisor said they don't want their employees having a confrontation with the customers.

The supervisor did said he was going to refund my money. This all could've been avoided if they would've told me about the illegal charge when I was there. I think this will be my last time I rent a car from Avis.
