An employee named “Stark” , was not only unfriendly, rude and disrespectful she had no reason to have such a bad attitude. If people don’t fit the customer service profile please don’t hire them. My toddler on our way to checkout stood with her slippers in the low shelf , Stark, automatically snapped saying “ get down from there “ .

1. I have waited over 5 hours plus on hold in a course of over 5 days to try and speak to a CSR, If I am lucky to get a CSR, they say they cannot help me, transfer me and then my call is disconnected!

I am no longer able to get signed on to read my books, because I know longer have access to a keyboard. 3. I did get lucky one morning and spoke to a CSR in your tech support department and he told me to follow the instructions on the website, if that did not work to do a HARD Restart, all of which I did before I called in to get help.

My husband and I went on a quick coffee date at the Woodinville Barnes & Noble. We were wearing our face mask and holding our drinks. He stopped to look at some dice before we left. As I’m taking my mask off of one ear to drink my drink, an older female employee comes over and tells me to pull my mask back up.

I calmly said yes I know. She continue to say you may sip it then you have to pull your mask back up. She continued to say you didn’t give me any eye contact put your mask back up. I just looked at my husband and he placed the dice back down and we just walked out.

This employee is very unpleasant and unprofessional. I do not like to be around negativity, we will not be going back to Barnes & Noble I would rather shop on Amazon. I really hope this employee is stopped and no further…

My wife and I just left your store in Greensboro, NC. We walked out because of a complete lack of willingness to help us. Our intentions were two buy two of Your larger Nook Readers and some books. We are not familiar with the Nook and wanted some help and guidance.

When I told the lady at the customer service desk what we wanted she pretty much pointed to the ones on display and then ignored us. We went to the front check-out counter and explained we wanted two Nooks but needed some help.

One of the ladies went back with us but was more interested in keeping the proper social,distance than she was in helping. I asked if she could show us the difference in the size of the print and her reply that we were not “fully” masked as my wife’s had slipped down below her nose.

My almost 13 years old daughter was reading calmly in the kids section and the manager said she can be alone there. I was in the store but they don’t any place for adults to sit in the kids section. I understand if is small kid alone or kid who is disturbing but a kid who is reading and the mom is in the same store but can seat in the floor.

I have been a member of B&N for many years now and recently I have not been able to use my membership to my advantage. This year like last year I have only received 2 coupons and this recent online one is the third. I Understand last year with the pandemic and all... I had a negative interaction with an employee named Rob. Someone had been smoking in the bathroom, and he publicly harassed this individual yelling at them and saying he had taken pictures of them. It was very disrespectful and uncalled for.

So I refused to by a book I was planning to purchase in the store. I addressed him and he was very rude in his response. I don't think I will every buy anything from that store again.

I was going to publish my first book with Barnes & Noble Press. I was very excited about it. I had everything set up perfectly. I wanted a Proof first before I published it so I can see if I needed to make any necessary corrections. Well B&N Press says to click on the "Submit" for approval button and then they will get back to me. I did but no one got back to me. So I did it again, nothing, did it again, nothing. Then I wrote them an email and days after that someone finally wrote me back saying to click on the button again. I explained that that does not work. So they submitted it for me and it was approved.

So I ordered my Proof, which is still in the delivery process. Then I noticed that B&N Press put my book up for sale - Pre-Order at $7.44!! This is their default for books - PreOrder…

dealt with Ioannis @ princeton market fair mall. He posses aa attitude that i have not encountered in any barnes and noble book store ever haughty and condescending. if you had a zero rating he would have gotten it. I was there for a return and was ready to present the method of purchase (gift card ) he say cant do that.

Terrible service/attitude problems! Never been to this specific Bookstar and really wanted to check it out! By brother and sister-in-law took me after a long morning of moving into their new apartment. We came right after opening at 10am and there were about less than 10 customers in the store.

While I was shopping my sister took a seat on the steps (keep in mind that we were in no ones way, no one around us, and was sitting for less than a minute), the associate came and told us we weren't allowed to sit on the steps and my sister got up said okay.

Store manager, Tommy Veyaung had explicit gay pride books exhibited on the main aisle showing pictures and words like “queer”, etc. There is no way to avoid going by that table from the children’s section to the cashier. I am a member of Barnes And Noble and frequent there with my grand children often.

I am very open minded but it was very awkward with my grandsons staring at those books. I suggested to Tommy to maybe move them off the main aisle more toward the adult section and he refused saying they were very proud of gay pride week and would prominently display them.

I asked him very nicely he highlighted any other sexuality and he did not have an answer. Very disappointed and I’m afraid Barnes And Noble has lost a very good customer.

, just as the store opened, I entered the Barnes and Noble at 1104 E 2100 S, Salt Lake City, UT. to browse, and meet a friend at your cafe for a meeting. After strolling for a very short time I decided to use the restroom before my friend arrived.

My daughter and I have been going to Barnes and Noble for years to purchase our book. We love the selection, the atmosphere, being able to sit together and have coffee while we read and the staff is always great.

I found myself in a dilemma in B&N in Macon Ga today. I’m 75 and use a cane due to knee surgery and arthritis in my spine. I needed to sit and rest, but there was no place to sit. The adequate benches had signs not to sit there. In a situation of really having to sit, I sat on the very last 10” of a bench to rest. A 20s something man came by and pointed repeatedly to the sign I was violating. I told him , “I’m in pain; I have to sit and rest for a few minutes or you can find me a wheelchair.” He was rightly mortified and left me quickly.

I called Customer Service in an attempt to link my MemberID associated with an old account (maiden name) to my new account (married name). I will preface that I absolutely love Barnes and Noble and have been a loyal member for nearly 10 years. I have not bothered to transfer my membership to my new account, because I typically make in-store purchases and use the still-in-use phone number associated to the membership.

I have entered a B&N store without a mask. I do not consider that I have broken any law, as a policeman told me that they do not arrest people for not wearing masks. The manager called the police. He did not give me or the police his name. I have spent 15-20 minutes talking outside with a police officer, after which he politely let me go.

I believe that the behavior of the manager was very ugly. While the state recommends wearing of masks, it is not the business of the store manager to enforce it. The behavior of the manager was offensive and makes people like me to give up doing business with Barnes and Noble.

I tried to log into the Barnes and Noble website, trying to buy and download a book. I was told my password was incorrect and choose a new password. I followed the instructions and created a new password. Then I was directed back to the sign in page. When I tried to sign in I got the same password error message. I went through this process three times. So then I tried to contact help but got a screen to enter my username and password first. It does not get any stupider than this.

I came to my senses and downloaded the book on Amazon.

I recently purchased $150 worth of Funko pop mystery minis from your store in Geneva, IL. Upon getting home, many of the boxes seemed tampered with as the internal bags were already opened in some, and boxes were not sealed shut. Today (at aprrox 1:30) I stood in line at the Cafe patiently waiting to place my order. Time was passing and the person in front of me was up next. while myself and a number of other customers were waiting for service.

That convo lasted for at least two minutes while all of us were waiting and listening to these two talking about their own lives and school and who knows what else. I placed order 4089027625 on January 2 (Seven books). One book was going to be released in February and one was cancelled. I used a total of five gift cards to complete this order. Since January 9 when the one book was cancelled, I have been looking for a credit in order to request another book.

I have chatted (twice) and called with everyone promising me that a credit will be processed within 24-72 hours. Just now (January 21) I received an email stating that a credit cannot be issued because I have one book pending release in late February so the order is not complete.

00 from my grand-daughter, when I tried to use it they replied that it was not activated. I have tried numerous ways and calls, chats, emails, web site chat,text hours of trying to get an answer how to activate this card.

Every time I call or send a request I get a different answer or they refer me to a different site or phone number. There has not been one person able to help me with this. The card was bought from a Shopko store which is now closed so cannot return there to have the card activated.

I am not one that complains or sends in complaints however your customer service has been undeniably without help. Does your company not take responsibility for BN gift cards sold at other stores? Is there no way to track the gift card number to see it has not been used? Am I discouraged?…

I ordered a book online (order #4087626549) on Dec 8, 2019 that was supposed to ship from bookXpress. I received notification from bookXpress on 12/9 but the tracking number in the email was never valid. Notification from B&N the same day indicated the book was on it's way to USPS.

That tracing number still says "on its way to USPS" as of 12/31/19. My credit card was charged on 12/10/19. It is now 1/2/20 and I have no valid shipping confirmation and no book. I ordered 2 books on 11/27/2019. I got one. On 12/10/2019, I ordered the other 3 books to the series. I paid extra for 2 day shipping. I should have got them today. I am still waiting on 4 of the 5 books.

1. Unexpected renewal billed to my credit card. I did not authorize this. I understand now that I needed to "opt out" at cashier when I purchased but was not told that at the time. I probably would have said yes if the option was offered but now I have been annoyed by the practice. 2. The renewal was $27.03 and not $25. No mention of extra fees or taxes was disclosed. Not a large amount but again, annoying. 3. I understand cashiers have a quota for signing up discount cards. This leads them to set false understandings by neglecting to communicate to customers (taxes to be added and automatic renewal). I do not blame them.

I like the bookstore experience and will continue patronage but only if I learn the practices will stop before next year's renewal. It is easy to just send out renewal…

I recently purchased a $300.00 gift card for Christmas online. I notice NOW you giving $10.00 gift card with a $50.00 gift card. Last year while in the Moorsetown NJ store I received the card with my $300.00 gift card purchase. I very disappointed to find out that because I purchsed this years gift card online earlier this I won't be receiving my gift card.

Wife and I drive 60 miles to shop Barns and Noble. She asked the Anthem store personel for help today and was told they could show her how to order on her phone. If she wanted to do that she would have done it.

Since they did not wish to help and due to the way Bsrns and Noble has treated her in the past as well we are dobe changing credit card to some otherstore probibly Amazon since if you must order online might just as well. Oh she spends between 100 and 200 hundred a week. Professional librarian.

I just came back from you store on May Street. Oklahoma City. There in the area of cookbookd, gardening was on the end were books under the heading, " Tough Love!" (See Atached Photo Below)

I find these books offensive of my moral and Christian values. With all the efficiencies, displays Barnes & Noble expresses things for children of all age these books are inappropriate to be in your store, no matrer if these books may be a best seller as store manager say they are.

I have a complaint about the 2nd floor bathroom condition of the Union Square Barnes and Noble located in NYC. I have visited the 2nd floor bathroom in that location a few times and Everytime the room was filthy! The floor was always sticky, the toilet paper scattered all over the floor, out of 5 available toilets, 1 was splattered with poops (amazingly it happened Everytime I went in there).

I understand being that it's children's department so things happen more frequently, but it's exactly the reason why it should be cleaned more often! I love Barnes and Noble store for the availability of the books, but the tardiness of it's bathroom condition of the location is really something they be ashamed of!

I am writing to tell you about how unprofessional your customer service reps were to me. I went on your chat site to find out why my Nook kept telling me that the url I was trying to access had been rejetcted.

I did the manual update just as I was told and after it turned off and then on again and showed it had been updated I got a message that said unfortunately your nook is off. I ordered a book on Aug 1, received order confirmation Aug 2, said 3-5 business days, then said i would not receive order until Aug 28. Called customer service to ask what was going on, told it was coming from a different warehouse, so I would not get it until Aug 28.

I told them that I never received email stating my order status had changed, so I informed them i wanted to cancel the order, but was told I could not cancel the order, that it was too late. I ordered from B&N because it was free shipping.
