I bought an Acura MDX in October. I noticed an issue with the transmission so I brought the car to the Acura dealership to get checked. Carmax has a warranty of 90 days and 4000 miles. Acura dealership in kenner said the car needed a new transmission.

Carmax did not want to pay for this so they sent my car to another facility for a second opinion. In the meantime, I had to ask Carmax for a rental because I was having to pay for Uber's everyday and I have two small children to bring to and from school every day.

Carmax made me a reservation at Enterprise which had no cars in the entire New Orleans AND surrounding area. Carmax then lent me a loaner which had an extensive list of issues itself. Several warning lights on and VERY unsafe to drive.

I took my recently purchased BMW (purchased in Sicklerville, NJ) to the Carmax in King of Prussia, PA to be inspected and have my permanent plate installed. They removed the temporary tag but did not return it to me. The tag was stolen from that facility, appeared on a vehicle that I DO NOT OWN, and is now racking up thousands of dollars in EZPass tolls.

I contacted Carmax, relayed the issue, and they can’t tell me what happened to the tag but ultimately they are not responsible. The tag has since expired. They never notified the DMV of its return, and can’t explain what happened to it.

I can email copies of the violations upon request.

Our daughter saved money and bought a car 1 year ago. Car immediately experienced a glitch in the transmission but they seemed to have fixed it pretty quickly. We also bought the warranty. 6 months later the problem returned and now Ford has the part on indefinite back order. To us it now seems the warranty has been breached as the car has not run constantly or barely at all for the last 6 months. Even after several attempts to repair it a Ford dealership. We are asking Carmax to rectify the situation and return the car to working order or buy the vehicle back. No one seems to be able to help, and they are only stalling us every time we call. I purchased a 2016 jeep renegade about 3 weeks ago. I’ve gone off the road twice and keep getting stuck coming out of my driveway in the snow. My tires are pretty bald and I took it into Lew Schwab and they estimated it being at a 5 and that’s why I’m having difficulty in the snow.

I am a single mom and I used my whole savings to put $4200 as a down payment, paid $19998 for the car and added car max. I don’t have money for new tires. I know your policy says they don’t get replaced until they are at a 4 but I’m going to die otherwise.

My son and I purchased a 20018 Audi A4 from Carmax in April of 2022 (I consigned on the loan). My son is a travel nurse and sometimes works in areas where there is snowfall. For this reason we specifically wanted an 4WD/All wheel drive vehicle.

According to the sticker on the car it had four wheel drive. Drive was listed as Drive: 4WD.

However, we realize now that it is only front wheel drive. There is no driveline or rear drive axle. In retrospect, we should have checked this before purchasing the car; but, trusted the description of the car to be correct.

This is very concerning because my son has just gone to an area receiving snow to work.

I/we purchased a 2013 Subaru Impreza from CarMax in summer of 2020, the same year of the class action law suit against Subaru. Details at https://www.classlawgroup.com/subaru-oil-consumption-class-action-lawsuit/

Since pucharing the vehicle, my daughter that drives the vehicle experienced oil consumption issues with the car but was unaware of this law suite. But I find it hard to believe that CarMax was not aware of this problem concerning this model of the car. We have an open case with Subaru of America, and geting the run-around from Sabura dealership Heuberger Subaru Service, Colorado Springs, CO 80905.

We purchased an extended warranty from CarMax for this vehicle, seems to me that this problem should be resolved without us having to deal with such level of deception.

Carmax is the worst ever. I will not do business with them ever again. I had a car transferred to Fort Bend Texas to Jackson, MS.

First the transfer took forever. Ok once the vehicle got here I kept getting the run around about when it will be ready. Ok fast forward, once it was ready I went up there with all the documentation that was required and they told me they needed a letter to tell them when my retirement money would stop coming in.

First off retirement doesn’t stop. Ok so I got the letter then when I went back with the letter ok then they said my check stub needed to have 64 regular hours and I explained to them I’m full time and I had to take off due to my daughter being sick.

I purchased a vehicle from carmax on December 18th 2020. I have been having issues with said vehicle since time of purchase. The last time I took my vehicle in for repairs on woodgrain that they had previously cracked, and do a diagnostic because the vehicle jumps they had my vehicle for 2 weeks.

When I received my vehicle it had 30 miles on it, no machine diagnostic was done only a visual, woodgrain was fixed, but now my cup holder won't open. Received the vehicle back with no oil in it. I have went back and forth with Carmax with some representative stating that the issue will be taken care of only for nothing to be done.

Carmax gets your money and doesn't stand on their words.

Carmax seriously does not need to be in business. Purchasing 1 vehicle from them turned into me being switched into 4 different cars as they had all broken down. Now that I’m in the last car which is a 2017 Ford Fusion they refused to fix the car until I had mentioned a lawyer getting involved for there incompetence.

Carmax stop having things in writing which you then refuse to want to honor. Ordered a car in for me and charged a $299 fee to do so. Claimed they needed extra time to detail the car before I test rode it. When I came to test tide the car it was pretty dirty, and certainly not detailed at all. I couldn't tell what was dirt and what was scratches or damage. It is inexcusable to try to sell a dirty car like this. I was also paying over $10k over retail price for a NEW car. Called their customer support line and was on hold for 30 plus minutes and gave up.

They also changed the offer for my trade in to a lower amount during the time I was waiting for the car to be shipped to me.

I wish I had set my $300 on fire and avoided all the hassles and gief.

I purchased a Dodge ram truck from CarMax a year ago I also purchased 2 years of the maxcare extended care. October 20th I was having issues with my truck so I called the max care service line and I was told to take it to a maxcare approved shop which I did.

Upon diagnostics of my complaints it was found that there were several issues with the steering rod on the rack and pinion. A Max care inspector came out and approved repairs because they were problems with the truck when I purchased it.

I was told that the parts would take anywhere from 30 to 45 days due to covid. I was given a rent a car on the 21st of October and was extended 11 days for the rental car. I called the repair shop and was told that the parts were going to be in on Wednesday October 7th.

I purchased this vehicle in Jan 2022 and have already had to replace the engine. Every month since the engine has been fixed, it's been in and out the shop. $32,000 for a lemon is too much to be paying. The fact my mom bought four cars from CarMax and never had an issue, I thought I'd give them a chance. I regret ever purchasing this vehicle as it's caused me more money than I'd wanted to. I'm very unhappy, disappointed and dissatisfied.

My son is in the Army and bought a car from the store in Arlington Texas. While my son was completing the paperwork for purchase the car, the salesman asked what address he wanted to use, we instructed him to use the Texas address due to it being his home address which is listed on his on DL.

The salesman instead used his address in Oklahoma. I called and talked to someone about this issue and they stated that my son would have to come back in and redo the sale of the vehicle. My son went back a second time and completed the resale of the vehicle again.

On October 20, 2022, I purchased a black 2013 Mercedes Benz GLK 350, that was shipped from Jacksonville, Florida to Lithia Springs, Georgia. Approximately, 2 days after my purchase, the check engine light came on. It was discovered that the vehicle had a evaporation leak, meaning missing gas cap.

My daughter’s car broke down and instead of investing a lot of $$$ into newer Toyota, I picked her up on the side of the road, had her Tundra towed and we stopped at the CarMax in Palmdale, CA. We walked in just asking to see what Toyota Camry’s they had on the lot.

I got there, no one said anything to me I didn't know where to go, 2 white employees looked dead in my face and kept walking. No one asked if I needed help nor looked to want to help.

We bought a car from their dealer auction in California and have been waiting nearly 4 months for a title. The customer service has been atrocious and we have been hung up on, lied to, and simply ignored by almost every single representative in the 2 carmax locations we have tried to deal with.

It seems even though they owed us a title within 30 days no one at carmax seems to follow up or work on our case to resolve it unless we call. They have failed to get a title or getvthe appropriate paperwork to legally sell the vehicle.

Thank you for the opportunity to submit this information. I brought my car in for service and the initial experience was decent. My rep (Zach) and the mechanic took a few hours to diagnose and tell me that I'd need to come back but I understand that things take time.

Appointment was scheduled to have the noise removed from the front end and to get a scanner out to update the firmware on the TCM. When I arrived the work order left out the firmware issue on the TCM and they added it by hand. The work was quoted to take a day and it ended up taking two days, again things take time, I understand that. Took my 2008 Honda Accord V6 to Carmax service to have shocks, struts, Radiator flush new radiator hose Water pump/serpentine belt replacement. You can buy a complete Water pump/Serpentine belt kit with all the parts including Tensioners. Carmax is charging me seperatly for these parts.

They also told me that there is a $69 diagnostic fee for each Service that they perform. This is against industry standards and I feel that they are taking advantage of me during this time of Supply/Demand of vehicles using that as leverage to charge me more.

Bought a car from you cash on June 8 and now the temp registration has expired and my employer has not and will not let me work with an expired registration which legally makes sense. WARNING STAY AWAY FROM CARMAX!!!!! I bought two cars from car max. One a 2016 BMW another a 2014 Ford escape. Went to buy another car from them at the carol spring location. Apparently they are so independent that the manager couldn’t walk over to see if he could make a deal he was stand not to far away.

They gave me what they afford after me telling them what I was looking for. It was take it or leave it, so I walked out and left it never to hear from them again. I use to sell cars and never treated a client this way epically someone who has bought two cars.

I purchased a car online through CarMax and had it transfered to my state from another.

First of all the car went to the wrong location as none of the employees verified that with me. Once it arrived at the wrong location I had to then wait a little over a month for the title and VIN verification.

This was 2 weeks past the predicted date they gave me. Once it finally got through that I was able to ship it to the correct location and was notified that the car had arrived on Monday August 22. I called to confirm this, and was told it would take less than 3 days for the VIN to be verfied again.

Son bought a 2019 Jeep Cherokee Latitude on 7/15/2020. It broke down on Highway on May 5 2022. Towed to shop was told the engine blew, really. Called car max was told he didn’t get the extended warranty too bad!

Mechanic told use a lot of cars were recalled because of engine problems. Naturally his vin was not. Car has been in shop since May, had to get used engine costing 5,000 dollars. Was called said it would be another 3,000 dollars for labor which he doesn’t have and all this stress put him in the hospital.

Would love to talk to the CEO but that won’t happen. Was sold a damaged car, a lemon! Don’t buy your cars from car max!! You will get no help.

I found out my MaxCare warranty was canceled without my knowledge or consent. After I had my Mazda 8 months I called to see if a repair would be covered and was informed that it had been canceled 4 months prior.

00 to American Credit Acceptance as a refund. 00 for the warranty and I want the rest of my money. My car had been driven 1000 miles when it was canceled at 69,000 miles. MAXCARE had my car down as 86,000 miles which was a lie.

We returned to the lot, and Bobby assured us the entire Management team was aware of the urgency, as we booked another night at the Caviler Resort, at a cost of >$750 a night. It turns out the car was not able to be repaired that next day, and on 7/6 we were told the car was sent to Jaguar, who needed to order parts. We were given the option of not signing the paperwork (ie not buying the car until it was repaired, which would have required a trip BACK to Virginia Beach) .

My wife & I were interested in a vehicle that we saw at carmax,2017 Toyota Highlander XLE the vehicle was listed on line so we went to the mobile location to look in hopes of a test drive. After sitting for 30 minutes some lady comes from the business office & tells us that they ONLY have 2013 Highlander after we had walked around the 2017.

What a waste of time. 00 an hour. I felt like no one care to help

On May 3, 2022, carmax to replace a part. On 2018 /718 Boxster. Time it took was 1 hour and 30 minutes. Why? If you check the correct time was less than 30 minutes. Here the problem, at the time not notice my front head lights. IT WAS CHANGE. A replacement older 2010?

headlights was Put in place of 2018 headlights. Please check your cameras of parts , repairs services . I WANT MY 2918 /718 Boxster headlights back on my car.

I purchased my vehicle from Carmax with MaxCare Plus extended warranty back in November 2021 after my car was totals. In January of 2022 I called to make a service appointment due to a few concerns I had with my vehicle.

I had to wait until the end of February to be seen. (2/22/2022). When I dropped my car off I was going out of town so I did not need a loaner until the weekend. The service tech I was working with called me that Friday 2/25/2022 and verified all the information necessary for me to pick up my loaner on Saturday 2/26/2022 at 9am.

Before showing up I called to make sure the loaner was ready and it was not. I called back at around 12:30p and was told it was ready. I arrived at a little after 1pm. I was instructed to wait.

I waited until about 3:30p before anyone took action…

We traded in a car (chevy traverse) the experience and the car we got was fine but we left a blue driver obd2 plugged into our old car called the next business day and they claimed it can't be found. The blue point cost $120 it seems either you have sketchy people working there who don't want to be honest and say they found it or we are getting lied to.

I'm pissed to say the least. Like if we left something in our car we traded in we should have gotten a phone call or they should have mailed immediately. I bought that for my husband for Christmas

Hello, I am extremely dis-satisfied by the service I am receiving from Carmax Burbank. I bought a car from them on Dec 13, 2022. It took them 4 months to register the car with DMV and get me my license plates.

More so, they spelled my name wrong. I had to follow up several times over several weeks before they provided me with an update on getting it corrected and now they are asking me to resolve it with DMV myself.

And, they are not sure if there may be a fee involved and I will be responsible for the fee. This is extremely poor customer service.

I currently purchased a Toyota Camry in January of 2022, and have had issues with the transmission. Its been in and out of the Toyota Dealer 3 times already and they cant seem to fix it properly! I need another resolution ASAP please
