I went to my local Circle K (Chandler AZ 85225, southwest corner of Chandler Blvd & McQueen Rd) where I have purchased an AZ lottery ticket & a scratch card every year for the past 28 years. I am 70 years old & I was asked to show my ID to verify my age before I was allowed to make my lottery purchase.
I was incredulous and asked why. I was told that "corporate" told them that for prior to any "age restricted purchase" being made, an ID had to be shown to verify age. This is beyond ridiculous. Where is the common sense in this decision?
I am bald with patches of white hair & very obviously over the age of 21. I feel personally insulted for being asked for my ID when the clerk can clearly see that I am well over the age of 21!!!!
