, was cutting trees on the power line behind my home. Quite a few years ago I granted an easement to Duke Energy. When the tree trimmers left rather than staying on the easement they drove across my property creating deep ruts.

This not only makes it extremely difficult to mow; but, also causes pain when I mow as I have a herniated disc in my back. I do not want to cause any trouble for these employees, but I do ask that it not be repeated.

This is not the first time this was done. Thank you.

I called questioning the budget billing amount on my bill. A case was created. I called back 6 business days later and the case had been closed. The CSR stated I need to give the $ amount I want to pay.

We have always been told how much the budget billing amount would be in Sept for the following year. I asked to speak to a supervisor. No one was available and I should receive a call back within 24-48 hours. No one called back.

Duke Energy has no ethics to do what they say they will do. I am on the phone again and getting now where. Everyone passes it off to you need another department. I have had issues for almost 1 year because of "a new computer ayatem".

The computer system should be fixed by now and after 40 minutes being on the phone, nothing is resolved.

The recent change of the website is awkward - when I do payment I want to see everything on one page, instead of clicking million times and not seeing what it was one or two clicks before. While this might be a convenient way for mobile application, which I would never use for payments, this is definitely not the way to use it on a regular web.

I'm a 77 yr. old woman and Duke has cut and left debris AGAIN by my private road,I've complained and complained about this, they also left their truck parked on my private road preventing me from getting out or someone coming in (like an ambulance) with no one around to move it, that is trespassing!!

they care nothing about their customers!!! I own my property, not DUKE!!!!!!!

When I say “power outage,” I don’t just mean the power is just going out. When our power goes out, it goes out then instantly comes back on. I spoke with Joy in Alabama and Twanicka in Georgia on Nov 29th regarding a discrepancy with my bill.

First of all the automation system stated my account was in jeopardy of being turned off. These agents were not able to locate my old account number or the money I sent for my bill. i requested a supervisor to call me and was told it would take 3-4 hours but no one called.

We have previously submitted a claim regarding Sdgwick Claims Management Service which is representing Duke Energy in a damage claim. We have attempted to reach a resolution with them for over a month and have not been successful. We are asking that you to reach out to Duke Energy and encourage them to resolve this issue without further expense.

The power outage was not our fault, but rather a power supply problem on the part if Duke Energy. We have submitted an honest, fair and accurate claim and believe Duke Energy would want to make it right if they are made aware of the issue

We needed to remove a tree and remove grapevine from the line in the yard, and so we had to schedule to have the line dropped. I was asked to pick a time on 11/15, and chose between 8 am and 10 am. As that time frame came and went, I called Duke energy and was on hold for over an hour before someone answered. She put me on hold to investigate and then the call disconnected. I had to call again and wait on hold, yet again, as no one showed up and I could not get through to anyone.

Extremely upset, as there is not a lot of daylight left in the day to do the work that needs done, and now I am not at all confident that I will be able to get through to anyone to get the power restored after the work is completed.

This complaint is directed toward Duke Energy's Claims Management Service (Sedgwick CMS).

Duke Energy had a power failure that resulted to damage to several of our appliances and a substantial food loss. We have been working with the Claims Management Service which is disputing the food loss. In an effort to get this resolved, we are turning to you for assistance. Below is a copy of the most recent correspondence which outlines the dispute.

We have been trying for some time now to resolve the damage and loss caused by an electrical supply failure at our house which damaged several of our appliances and caused a food loss due to no electricity being supplied to our home.

We applied for service on line from the office of the realtor on October 25th. The closing on my new home was scheduled for October 26th. That same day at 9am I was rushed by Fire Rescue Dept to West Maron Community Hospital with a heart condition.

On the 27th we moved in, and on the 29th Duke Energy cut the power. I was 5 hours on the phone with them and not even the supervisor helped to resolve the problem. I am 3 days without power, my wife is sick and dont even know when they will connect the power.

They only said this is due to a system update and they could not even find records of my confirmation. I want to be call by a regional manager and solve my problem as soon as possible. I gave them my wife record also for a new application on the 29, and we have not received any answer.…

Customer service is a joke. This company is pro at scamming you. Everytime you call each representative tells you something different than the last. They fight you tooth and nail on talking to a manager and nothing every gets resolved.

I was put on an average plan told it was a great idea only to find out a year later that a bill was accumulating that we had no idea. At the end of a year we were slapped with an additional $1800 which is crippling to a working family.

Every person we talk to says yes you never should have been on that plan but we can't help you. Your rep put me on this plan and did not fully explain it it you can't help me???? Sure is funny how my call with this rep is magically missing from your system along with many other calls I have place.

I have had Duke Energy for 3 years. I am a homeowner and do not plan on leaving my home.. I missed a payment I believe it was an October cobar Duke Energy told me that they called and texted texted me I got me there They shut my power off..

When I got home I traveled I traveled about 20 minutes to call them. I explained that I did not get a call or a text and I immediately paid my bill. They now want to charge me a $348 deposit deposit.

Then they told me that they will keep that until I move out of the house. I have no intentions of moving out of this house and I don't understand after 3 years of loyal service how they can charge me a $348 deposit and then tell me that they're going to keep it forever thank you

I sold my house at 235 Crystal Circle Mooresville, NC 28117 in April 2021. After everything was settled up with my Electrical bill. 00 credit on my account. When I close my account I was told the I would receive a refund in about 60 days.

Well it's been 180 days and I still have not received my refund. Myself or my wife have made over 10 phones call, and all we've been told is the check is being processed. My question, how DAMN log does it take to process a refund check !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is ridiculous that we cannot get money refunded to us that we made in overpayments to Duke Energy.

I never in my life have lived somewhere where the power goes out as often as it does where I live I don’t know if it’s because it’s Florida or what because my husbands family members have the same problem but with a different company. Right I’m sitting in the dark at 2 in the morning because my went out at midnight and they say it won’t be back on till 5 am.

I get it things happen but I have a 2 month old child who won’t stop crying and my phone is going to die and I can’t charge it in my car because the outlets in my car don’t work so I’m just shit out of luck. Their excuse was “something went offline” like what does that even mean.

THINKING NO BIGGIE!! WELL, COME TO FIND OUT THAT THEY PUT A DIFFERENT SMART METER IN, CHANGING MY BILL AMT FROM $80-$110/MONTH TO $355-$400/MONTH. I CALLED CUSTOMER SERVICE AND ASKED WHY THEY PUT A NEW SMART METER IN WHEN THE PREVIOUS SMART METER WAS INSTALLED LESS THAN A YEWR AGO.

I have spent the last 4 days calling Duke energy. They have failed my family on an epic level. We had a 350% spike in usage on our bill and we were not notified. As soon as I reviewed my bill after a month of a quadruple bill... I sprung into action.

I called Duke they told me there was nothing wrong with their equipment and I needed to call an electrician. The next day an electrician came out to my home and the next day I was replacing my a/c unit.

Duke energy NEVER took ANY responsibility for my NOT notifying me. Instead they told me they would work with me on a bill schedule. Even a small credit would have appeased me. which is my air conditioning unit and I live in Florida!!! Are you kidding me.

I think it is disgraceful that such a large company doesn't care about their customers.…

For the past year I have been getting unexplained large bills that fluctuate. Each time I call I'm getting told wrong information. I take care of my disabled mom and we are on fixed income in a small two bedroom apartment.

Not much activity going on so I'm not understanding how my once regular $125 keeps going from $180 -$330 a month with no explanation or no resolve.

My family moved out of our old house we rented on July 4th and moved into the new house we bought. I called them on October 5th to have services disconnected at old house and connected at new house which they did on July 7th.

I recieved a $653 utility bill for the month of October. I noticed there was a $375 "transferred fee". I called them questioning what the transferred fee was and they said it was for an unpaid bill at the other address for the month of July, August.. r u kidding me?!

The rental company turned the utilities back on at the old address but I have to pay for the months that I didnt love there? Stick that bill right up your @$$.

Duke energy shut off my account in error which affected my job as I work from home. They refuse to fix the billing mixup on their end. Ive never missed a payment or been delinquent - in fact i pay before the due date.

I cannot get any resolution when calling customer service. They actually stated today "the request is still open but they dont know whats going on". I would leave a zero star rating. Awful awful company.

Duke Energy website is down on a regular basis. Therefore, I incur late fees on a regular basis. I call Duke to pay the bill and they want a handling fee because there website is down. I spoke with the website group and they didn't know what the code meant or how to help me.

I have a refund owed to me. I ask for my refund on August 26, 2021. I have called several times about the check. They keep saying they are working on it. I have been given different dates when I should get the check.

The latest date is Oct 5 for cutting the check, so maybe 7 days from that date I might receive it. This is way too long. I asked to be connected to someone in the corporate dept and they keeping giving me reps.

I am completely fed up with Duke.

I work for the City of Altamonte Springs, Building Fire Safety Department, which is located in the state of Florida. I was receiving great customer care until I purchased the house next door. My house on 114 was on auto pay, I bought the house next door I set the billing up for mail for the 106 house. When the bill came due they took me off of auto and I wasn’t even receiving a bill for 106.

I have been receiving disconnect notices since June because of unpaid bills. But I have bank statements to prove that they have been paid. Duke energy will not return money charged to my disabled mother who doesn’t even have Duke energy. She lives in assisted living with a brain injury and someone used her card to pay their electric bill. It wasn’t her, nor did she give permission as she can’t dial or answer a phone.

It was her social security money which made her unable to pay all her monthly expenses. They are disgusting and know who used her card. Mortified

On August 30, 2021 my community experience a power outage. For my neighbor it lasted less than 10 min. My unit was delayed electric came back on in 17 minutes. The following am at 3 am August 31, 2021, I had no power.

I called from my neighbor phone and reported the power not working. He checked every thing and it would not come back on. I call Duke again they said someone was on the way. I went back to the breaker box the message reads "error 5"..

I called duke again and insisted that I speak to engineers and was denied over and over. I told her the message, she communicated with her supervisor to tell me it is a generic message to tell cusumers that some one will be at my location by 1pm.

I am not satisfied, I went to my apartment manager and asked her to call in regards to no power.…

it is a pandemic, crime is high and I am an elderly customer with several medical concerns who live in a rural area with no street light. My yard light is the only outside lighting. I called for a repair of my yard light because it is out. Told the operator I feard for my safety and need to light fixed immediately. I was told the policy is 3-5 business and I would just have to wait the 3-5 days. I am sending this appeal to you to reconsider and repair my yard light sooner than 3-5 business days. My health and safety depend on it.

Member stated she has Duke Energy and last month she rec'd a bill and it was due on the 23rd and she paid it on 8/11/2021. Member then checked her mail and rec'd a final bill notice from Duke Energy and she called Duke Energy and they said they rec'd a move out order that they were moving on 8/3/2021. Duke Energy couldn't provide info on how they rec'd a order to terminate service and waiting on a call back from Duke Energy.

We have contacted Duke Energy requesting a supervisor 5 times and still no one from Duke Energy has called back.

We want to know who and how the request was submitted to terminate services when we didnt.

I called Duke energy to come out to move my lines to the house underground. The Duke contact has been very nice. The problem comes first, that 811 won’t locate for Duke. Took me a couple of weeks to get that message so I had to open my on 811 case.

Second all funds have to be paid upfront and then Duke won’t even schedule a day to do it. They will just show up. I happen to have gated property so that causes a problem. But really, how hard is it to schedule an appointment with your customer?

Every time I deal with Duke it’s a hassle for me.

I called for a refund back in May. I looked at my bill from May18-June15th. 39 which I never received. 31 which I did get. 39. I also looked at my bill service June 16-July 16th. Bill date July 20th.

attempted to add residential service. was passed along to a 3rd party vendor who refused to stop selling withheld my confirmation email; refused to provide operator id; refused to stop selling services despite my multiple requests to stop.

32 on March 10, 2021. I am still being charged for that bill. 32 cleared my checking account on March 16, 2021. I have called numerous times and still haven’t received any help on this. The first person I talked to said a new system was being put in and she would correct this. com. Please HELP.

This is the 3rd month in a row that I have tried to get my mailing address corrected for the WINDOW portion of the bill envelope.

First phone call on 7/6/21 to Antonio.

Second phone call on 8/6/21 to Nora. Both said that they fixed it, but it is still incorrect in the WINDOW portion of the bill envelope. Please see the attached photo of the bill that I just received today, 8/14/21.

My name is listed twice, and "Unit D" is missing from the mailing address. So, the mailman has to look inside every 906 Gretchen Ln mailbox until he finds the one with my name written in the box. My online Profile with Duke will not allow me to correct it.

Please pass this message up the chain of command to someone in a Supervisory position who can get the job done for me. Many Thanks! Charles

I live in Bloomington Indiana and am on Section 8 I have several health problems so and am currently so ill I can't work especially with Coronavirus out there! I live in a 1 of bedroom trailer and my bill is somehow$800+ I've applied to and was approved for the Energy assistance program they are going to pay my bill for 12 months but it hasn't reached Duke yet!

Of course there is no way to forward the email I got to Duke to prove that my bill will be paid by them! I had my church to pledge some money on my bill but Duke wanted $400 or they r gonna disconnect me!
