Power out again on 8/3 at 7:07 am. This is the third time in a month power has gone out, not counting the momentary blips that mess up clocks, cable boxes, sprinkler systems, etc. this outage is apparently only affecting our neighborhood of 76 customers.

Most likely a tree branch touched a wire. This has happened way too often over the years I have lived here and nothing seems to be done to fix the problem. It’s getting to be ridiculous.

On June 15th I submitted a start service request for my new apartment and received confirmation that it would occur on July 30th at noon. I moved into my new apartment on July 31st and was informed electricity had never been set up and that I'd be charged a $50 administrative fee in addition to utility costs until electricity was put in my name. I was unable to contact Duke on July 31st as it was a Saturday.

I called Duke energy when their office opened on August 2nd. I was told that a cancellation was put in on July 6th and that they were not at fault. I told them I had not asked for a cancellation and I asked for a supervisor. The supervisor informed me that another individual had put in a start service request for the same apartment unit (likely by mistake) and then cancelled it. The…

My complaint today is, that the government has given Duke energy enough grants and free money to help those that are in need. I not only get a wrongfully disconnected, I now have to pay all the fees for a a bill that is less than 170 dollars, when I know oh multiple of your customers who's Bill's exceed way over mine, they not only have power but magically no fee??

A little shady if you ask me. I did everything, I knew to do to keep that from happening, was told by four different employees of your organization that everything will be fine, they make sure, nothing happens to my electric.

Dug yard up for running cable; however they wrecked my yard and landscaping. There is a large rock that was dug up that they placed in my yard and I cant move it. I want it picked up. They cut my nice bush in half, left all the trimmings for us to dispose of. They trashed my landscaping lights, they covered all my red lava rocks with sand, they left white splatters of paint on my drive way. They need to come back out and pick up and dispose of the ROCK, they need to clean their mess up and remove the paint. Now I have to pay for someone to come out and redo my lawn and take out my bush. Worse mess I've seen from any company. I do have pictures, however your page wont attach it.

Trash ing of yard sawing g expensive bushes.tear up landscape lights and greenery. they sawed in half a expensive bush..they left huge rocks in yardthat I icant pick up and remove . Well let's see the first time I try to get an account with Duke Energy they told me that my social security number was used and I had to pay and I never had an account with them before so I asked them politely I was like how the heck do I have an account with you guys when I never had you guys and

then they finally admitted to me that they accidentally switched my social with someone else's and that's why it was on my credit and that's why I got screwed over. I never got an apology or a ladder saying everything was taken care of

I have been waiting for a refund since February 2021. 19 was mailed out on 6/28/21 and it would take 10 days. On 07/12/21 Quadrisa a sup stated I should receive it on or before 7/16/21. There has been over 10 tickets sent to call me back.

No one does the only call received was after hours too late to call back. I paid my bill faithfully and the only correspondence I received from Duke Energy was a late notice mailed on 7/12/21 received 07/18/21 within 7 days.

I have 2 ticket numbers today #1001127552 and # 424535. My account 910026156995 ph#336-865-6080. I need to get this resolved ASAP. Why such a Hugh company like Duke Energy can’t give a person their refund. It’s been 5 months would you let my lights stay on if I hadn’t paid my bill??? Call me please!!!

We have above ground power lines where I live. We have just experienced the second power outage in three days. Over the past twelve months we have experienced numerous outages due to either car accidents hitting power lines or trees down.

What plans does Duke Energy have to prevent these ongoing problems?

I had an Fraudulent Account Opened in my my name ! I provided all of the supporting documents that was requested! I am constantly given the run around to have that removed off of my credit ! My credit score tanked 72 points !

I’m just really frustrated and they should really have a better process available for situations like these !

As of late, we have been experiencing power bursts and repeated brownouts. We have begun to share notes and to monitor the level of electricity provided. There is repeated loss of services and we are beginning to lose pieces of equipment to your inept service and improper delivery of power. What I find odd is that there is no address of the service box on this form. As an aside, the address is 72 East Jefferson Street Franklin Indiana 46131.

You have the ability because our State and Civic authorities have granted you a right of way. This is a public trust, you supply safe and conditioned electricity and we as a result pay you. I didn’t get a bill in April , I called , the system said that I didn’t owe Anything. 00. 00 in May because that was my May and June bill. 00. I was told that there was a qlitch in the system when doing a system change , which was not my fault.

00 for June By 6/28/21 and she would have the billing department to correct my bill since it was Duke Energy error. 00. 00 still lingering. I was suppose to get a call back today in 1-4 hrs from a higher up supervisor and that was at 11:00am when I called and I still haven’t heard anything and it is now 5:00pm.

This isn’t fair to me as a customer for the system to tell me that I don’t owe, them turn around and double Charge me. I pay my bill monthly and this error needs to be fixed. How many other people has this happened to and no one has spoken…

Driving on State Street in New Albany I was almost hit by a Duke Energy truck at approx 11:30AM, 6/22/2021. my lane proceeds straight. The truck did not turn right but proceeded straight into my lane and came very close to hitting my car.

I had to slam on my brakes which sent my cat (in a pet carrier) into the floor board to keep from hitting the truck. Truck # USDOT -094646. This turn lane is VERY WELL marked. The driver was being reckless.

The counselor I talk with at 3 PM on June 21st, 2021 showed the worst call I could get. I don't know why but she was maybe working at home because half of the conversation was filled with her baby's sound. her baby never stopped yelling next to the phone and I couldn't hear 50% of what she said. She never said sorry during the call. When she said hold on I had to wait more than 20minutes each time.

It was the most convenient in my life.

I got on even billing about six months ago because I'm on disability and it would be easier to budget that way so last month I had a question about my bill so I called Duke Energy and ask them what this even billing charge was for they explained to me after I talked to two different people that it was the electricity that I didn't use that month so

I told them okay so that's money that I will get credited at the end of the year and they inform me that I wouldn't be credited for the amount of electricity I didn't use for the year that that was money that they would keep so I called the Indiana Regulatory Commission and left a message on their answering machine and they never got back with me I am going to try again today because the more I think about this the more upset I get

I cannot get any good answer as to why my bill due this June 4th is the exact same amount as the bill I paid last month (to the penny). I have never seen that happen in the whole time I have been a customer. Besides that, I have not been at my house the same amount of time each month. And I have had more people in my house (grandchildren) from one month to the other. It is literally IMPOSSIBLE to be the exact amount! I want this corrected to reflect the true amount due. I have cut corners to lower the bill from last month and the new bill shows the EXACT amount down to the penny and that is not possible.

I'm new to Carolinas. Went to Duke website to register my account online. Using account number and last 4 of social, that worked fine until they sent me the email with link for final verification. That link only took me back to the same registration page, which I did all over again. Which generated another email that took me back to this ENDLESS LOOP.

SERIOUSLY? Duke energy can't even do a simple online registration correctly? So I call customer service and wait 30 minutes for a rep. After 2 minutes with the rep (and no solution yet), Duke drops the call and I'm left with nothing but frustration. I've wasted most of an hour and accomplished ZERO.

I had a lady from duke energy out to give me a quote to move power lines. She was verbally short and abrupt with me, shaking her head and talking under her breath! We have been a paying customer for 22+ years!

You would think they would accommodate in any way possible! I would switch to REMC in a minute!!

Duke Energy is by far the worst and most incompetent company I’ve ever dealt with. They do not care about customers and have no clue how to communicate within the company on dealing with issues. As an electrical contractor I’ve seen first hand how impossible it is to get them to do anything right, leaving customers without power on a regular basis without a care in the world.

They have no competition and answer to no one, this is a serious problem that needs to be addressed because it’s only getting worse. If I ran my company like they do I’d be out of business.

We’ve been without power since 9:00 pm Wednesday. Everyone around us has power except 8 residents. Now there telling us it will be 11:59 pm on Friday before power is restored We’ve been without power now over 21 hours. They were out here today and got everyone power but us.

This isn’t the first time this had happened either I understand there are others to take care of but they were here I. The neighbor hood and got power restored except us They say it wasn’t reported until today at 2:30 but I and my neighbor reported last nite at 9:00 pm.

We were told wrong multiple times by customer service. I just don’t understand why they didn’t fix fix our lines while they were out here today I have no heat and one of my neighbors is 84 with cpmplications

I was billed for the last month , which I have already paid. It started since I wrote a complaint to Bank of Amerika. Bank of Amerika to create problems for my account erased the payment of bills. After my complaint, Bank of Amerika agreed with Duke Energy that they would clear me an bill for the past month.

Well it Feb 7 and this is the 2nd total power loss for the year. On pace to top the 7 times last year.

Also had 2 incendents where power went out for 5 mins but came back on. This latest loss only affected 100 customers including my home but of course my neighbors across the street have power. For some odd reason my neighbors across the street never lose power. WHY IS THIS?

I know we are on separate grids so their grid must be doing the job it was intended to do but my grid fails time after time. I've been experiencing this year after year. 20 years is to long .

Will Duke Power look at my number of outages compared to Duke Power average throughout the area. IT IS TIME TO UPDATE MY POWER LINES AND EQUIPMENT. Please fix this problem, please bury my lines underground .

Paid my full bill by EFT on Friday 1/17/20. It cleared my bank per Wells Fargo both online and per their rep. I got a disconnection notice 1/20/20 and I was on the phone with Duke energy when my power got shut off on Monday 1/20/20.

Was told there was nothing they could do. I paid the bill again in cash on Monday 1/20/20 so I had power and was told I had no other choice. My EFT posted Monday 1/20/20 at Duke. I am trying to get a refund of my money and am getting an incredible run around.

I have called multiple times and get a different answer each time. Last thing I was told is I have to prove that Duke has the funds and was hung up on 1/22/20 by someone who was supposedly a supervisor.

This is essentially conversion and is bordering on criminal. Duke Energy has my money that they are not…

I have spoken to someone at the 800 653 5307 number 4 times about two street lights that are out in Shady Oaks subdivision. This started in December and they have yet to be fixed. I was told it was put in wrong twice The third person said they would be fixed in 3-5 days.

One is working, but the ribbon is still around the light post and the other is not. Why would they fix one and not the other? These lights have been out since December, but we have continued to get billed for the 2 lights that are out.

I want a refund to reflect on the next bill! I am not happy with this repair service.

Duke Energy would prefer that customers use their paperless system but when you do and you are expecting emails so that you can set up payment arrangements. What you get is a notice in the mail or email stating that service will be disconnected because payment has not been made. I truly feel that you could do better. Technology has improved tremendously so why is it that customers can't receive a timely email when their statement is ready?

Our light is out in front of the GeorgianTerrace at 2136-38 Madison Road. The two lights across the street are also defective with flickering lights. I gave this message by phone on 9-16 and was told it would be fixed in 5-7 days.

My friend is 92 and on limited income in February she contacted Duke about a totally dead tree in her back yard. The came back in July and finally agreed that Duke would cut down her tree at no charge .

We have a Permission and Authorization form marked Cut tree as close as possible to ground level. 158897 on Sept 25 it was scheduled if Duke was not done with another job they told her they would be out on the 26th & did not show.

She does not have the money to pay for removal as they keep telling her and with what we pay for electricity you would think they could do a WWII widow of a China Marine the courtesy of removal of one lousy tree. I've called the customer service number and have gotten no solid response.

Could you please do something out of respect for her & her spouse.

Your tree men started cutting down our Long Leaf Pine Tree about 4 weeks ago. It took them 2 weeks to get some of the branches off. They did not work full days and came very late to get started. Then the hurricane came.

Now 2 more weeks later, the tree is in a condition to fall over with no supporting branches and big branches are left sitting in our yard.

Also lots of pine straw. All of this by our mailbox where copperhead infestation can now happen big time. I did not want this tree down. You did. It was such a threat and now it is a bigger one by the transformer.

What is the problem that this tree cannot be finished off? It poses a danger to the house of our neighbor and to the transformer as you stated. I feel like I could write a story to the N&O with the picture of our property and…

I live in Carmel Woods at 2609 Innsbrook Rd, Charlotte 28226. Ive lived here since 2006 and we have had an issue with our power since we moved in. Our power goes out constantly. Not for 30 minutes but for 10, 15, or 20 hours at a time. This is totally unacceptable!!!

This past month it has went out twice, and both times its been 7 hours then 12 hours. It's 95 degrees and we have no power?? Cant open refrigerator or your will food will go bad. We have spoken with repairmen that have told us we are on the Old Providence grid and it old and Duke energy wont replace the defective equipment.

I had my service disconnected without my permission. You allowed someone to put service in their name start date Aug 19. Ince they found out that I didn't close on my house they put a cancel order in .. this was during when I'm moving out into a new home I purchased.

The electricity was turned off. I had service. I never canceled was told to call fraud Equifax. Cause I have identity theft why even go through this when I had service up till that point. You all cost me a loss of 100 of food. move. nk air. Or electricity. Shameful.

I'm contacting the utilities commission about this incident. Couldn't even help me out. Your company is disgraceful.

I have filed a complaint with Consumer Affairs for MORE than doubling my July 2019 bill. Your customer service representative was uninterested in my in my query and maintained that the "reason" for tripling my bill last month was because of the July heat wave we had here in Indianapolis. I call this BS!

I have been in the same place for several years and I have compared all of my past bills to this current bill and there is NO WAY we used enough power to cause a tripling of charges. This is absolutely highway robbery and it needs to be addressed!

I WILL CONTINUE TO DRAW ATTENTION to you unfair practices! I will be MORE THAT happy and ACCOMMODATING to provide past seasonal bills. This is WRONG!!!
