The below reviews must be planted. No possible way this hotel has earned 8.6 on its merits. Walking into the lobby from sweltering temps outside you would expect a cool change, no so. Temperature in the hotel is sitting at approx 80 by my estimation. You walk out of your room into the hallway and its already horrible.

Our room had a tub that apparently they had tried to "refinish" however the finish how was close to matte white spray paint the had chipped in multiple places. The pilows on the beds were 18x18 in squares? Easily stackable to so Ill let that go. First day when we returned from site seeing for the day found that one of the beds had been made but not the other? Still dont know what thats about.

They advertise free WIFI but the wifi code isnt published anywhere in the room?…

I asked my son to book a room for us on Friday July 1,2022. He came back to me and said he had booked a room at Howard Johnson . I asked no more as I trust the service at Howard Johnson .

To my complete surprise , when I checked in, the hotel was in no way like Howard Johnson hotels although carrying the same name , it looked like a residential place . The price for 1 room was $340 and the room was in a miserable situation .

the door had no safety lock . there was no fridge or microwave or blankets . there was no hair drier as stated on the online form . the A/C was so noisy enough to wake you up every 10 minutes .

Hello, I’ve tried contacting everyone as I could. This is what was wrong.

This place was so nasty. Dirty rooms, shower curtains were literally black, the bathtub drain was broken, the bathroom door had holes in them, the lights weren’t working except 2, the wifi wasn’t working, the beds are brutal, there was a homeless person sleeping on the couch in the breakfast area. Felt totally unsafe being alone with my 7 year old. I asked to change my 3 nights to 2 nights the guy said it was ok and I would be charged for 2 nights and nope made me pay for 3 nights. They “upgraded” our room which was just as bad but smellier and was told there was no additional cost and I was charged for a safe also. This place is absolutely unsafe and disgusting!! There is cigarette smoke throughout the entire hotel when you list this as non smoking hotel!! Toilet was not cleaned at all, shower and towels were dirty and stained. I arrived on April 15th around 3:45 pm and unloaded my bags and went to dinner.

Came back around 5:15 pm (about an hour an a half total time) and saw drug dealers and drug users walking throughout the hotel, they were harassing my wife and I. They were openly smoking in and outside of the hotel.

We did not feel safe so we loaded our bags as fast as we could, went and asked for a refund and were refused by the rude manager named Jackie. She knowingly allows this behavior on the property, so does the rest of the managers and employees.

I am a Platinum and Military Member of Wyndham Rewards (#125945769H). I have stayed a number of times at your hotels and enjoy them.

I just received a charge of $185.65 for a hotel that I never stayed at - Howard Johnson by Wyndham Leavenworth. I attempted to make a reservation there in September 2021 for a stay on October 7, 2021. I never received a confirmation email, so I assumed it did not go through. I then made a reservation at a different hotel in Leavenworth.

I was subsequently charged for a no-show for a reservation I never knew I had.

Every other reservation I have made through the Wyndham Rewards site has provided a confirmation email. Why did Wyndham not provide me with a confirmation email for this hotel? Why am I being charged for this?

I called this location to make reservation, and brought t to their attention that I have a discount rate of 10% off the hotel rate. All of the front desk staff I spoke to refused to apply the discount, and requested that I speak with the Hotel Manager. I have been calling the hotel since 17th of October. Each day I called regardless of the time manager has never been on duty. Even when I checked in on Friday, I was told that the manager never worked Weekends.

Stayed at howard johnsons , 5905 victoria ave, Niagara Falls overnight. Arrived sunday october 17 , 2021 checked out on monday october 18th. Parked in the howard johnson parking lot . 00 parking fee. Upon going to my parking spot after checking out I found my car had been broken into overnight... broken rear window..

someone had thrown a stone though the window.. class all over the backseat and around the outside of the car. I had to make an online police report and now have to go through my insurane to have the window repaired.

We checked and the room was clean the shower water pressure was nonexistent the water did not get hot at all. The carpet could us some cleaning. our room was next to someone who went in and out all night we was by the ice machine. We barely got sleep..

on Tuesday the day we was due for check they deactivated our room keys before 930 am. We went to breakfast came back couldn’t get in room had to call to front desk for them to send someone. Deplorable conditions at Howard Johnson Toms River; I am written several times the franchise owner has yet to contact me and rate was $350 for one night. We couldn't close/open our door (broken door jam); the sheets/towels were disgusting and it smelled like cigarettes. It was filthy.

The room was filthy, there were cigarette butts on air conditioning unit. TV did not work, no hair dryer, no coffee maker attachments, bathroom ceiling fell through on us. And my car was towed from parking lot. No compensation what so ever.

00 extra cash only for 2 hr early check-in. I walked out on the lounging roof with my grand babies and 2 men were smoking out of a big bong pipe. The cleaning service was also very rude and yelled at us when we tried to get the elevator down.

Would not let us on, said he was using it. The door to the room had such a large gap in it between the floor and door, we could see out side. I was so taken back and overwhelmed when I seen the room, and the feeling of helpless anxiety when I was told no refund.

On 5/30/2021 3:30pm, I arrived Howard Johnson located at Mystic, CT with my kids. After I was told that I was too earlier to check in, I spent 30 mins at nearby shopping mall. According to the hotel policy - check in 4pm and check out noon, I was back to hotel at 4pm for requesting check-in again.

However, the front desk staff told me that it was impossible to arrange a room at that moment because the room I reserved was not ready yet. It would take another two to three hours to be ready. With my two kids, I tried to explained to him that it was very inconvenient for us to find a place because we drove from New York and had spent 3 hours on the road.

So I had an interview this morning with your hotel here in san Marco's Texas. I had to call and inform them that I was not going to make it die to my truck didnt want to start. The lady who answered was unprofessional at best.

Her response when I told her was "oh yeah". I'm sorry but that is so unprofessional. This is why your ratings are so low, people get turned off by this kind of attitude and they go elsewhere.

I stayed at the Howard Johnson by Wyndham Flagstaff I-40 East Lucky Lane location after getting caught up in a snowstorm that blocked all ways out of Flagstaff on March 13th. I was charged $359.87 for the room which is nearly 4x the normal rate for the room.

This price gauging during extreme weather conditions is completely unethical. Not only that but the shower in the room did not work properly and the lock on the door wouldn't completely close (I woke up in the morning to the door partially open to the elements – only the emergency safety lock keeping it somewhat closed).

I should be reimbursed at least to the normal rate of the hotel, I had no choice but to book this hotel during a winter storm and to find that it was almost 4x the normal rate was extremely unsettling. I will also be…

Dirty sheets on the bed, bath tub in dire need of repair, holes in wall , door was hard to close as locking mechanism was falling off. Whole room could use a good cleaning. Being across from a hospital you would think the rooms would be clean and sanitized especially during Covid-19.

I travel between Florida and Colorado every 2 to 3 months , being a small business owner I do not like to file complaints and have done so one other time when my food was bleeding, BUT this is a horror story of a hotel with a well established name, my room looked like a dirty screen out of a 60s movie no fridge no microwave a disgusting safe that is older than me, out of the 6 days my floor was mopped 0 times I only slept there 2 nights because it was so

I stayed at HJ PDX in building B rm 310. The room seemed basically clean. I was very unhappy to step into a shower that had run for long enough to get hot and yet was only tepid when set at hottest level and remained so until the end of my shower.

Even worse, the drain didn't work well so I was standing in dirty water. I also found that my key card wouldn't work when I returned after breakfast. After getting it reset it still took many tries to get into both the building and my room

We were at the Daleville/Roanoke Howard Johnson this weekend. We had two rooms for Saturday. We have stayed here numerous times and it was always clean and in good condition. When we got to the hotel about 8:30, we checked in and then went to our rooms.

The first room #325 was OK except that the tile in the bathtub was horrible. At first, I thought that it just needed regrouting but as there was a lot of black stuff around several of the tiles, then I realized that it was not clean and that there was mold in the crevices of MANY tiles.

And the caulk around the edges was not very clean. It was late and we were tired. I noticed 3 or 4 stink bugs but we have that problem at home as well and treat the outside of the house to kill them so very few get in.

We checked in to receive the 2nd floor, as requested. We were told there was none, then we left to the baby shower. When we returned 3 hours later we saw the room and how dilapidated it was, food stains, stains on the wall and door, gashes on the walls.

Powdery substance on the carpet, and feces right outside the sliding glass door - in two spots with a smell of urine. Most alarming however, was the drug dealing that was occurring right outside our door. We felt unsafe so we left.

We were refused a refund even though the room was not used. We only checked in on our way to the baby shower we had to go to. Manager was entirely unhelpful and rude. She also lied and said the room was used.

We did not touch anything in the room. We stood there in horror and then left.

I stayed at Port Richey. The room was not anything like the pictures. It is a place for people to live. I did not feel safe there. I paid cash and stayed because I believed I could not get my money back.

The couch and chair was stained. My friend uses a cane and when I asked for a bottom unit I was told they were full. Not true. People were fighting outside my room every night. I was woke up every morning by the same thing.

The room was not cleaned every day. We did not get clean towels every day. We were put all the way at the back. So, we did not take advantage of the breakfast. The railing going to the second floor is loose. My friend almost fell.

Hello, I've thought about it for 2 weeks now and finally decided to submit a complaint on this hotel. August 3rd, we were about 4 hours from home visiting the Grand Canyon. Instead of driving home, we booked a last minute hotel room at the Howard Johnson by Wyndham Flagstaff University West. 40.

When we arrived, the hotel charged an additional $14 RESORT FEE!!!! This was definitely NOT a resort and barely classified as a low class dump. The name, Wyndham, to me, stands for a clean and decent hotel if not a better than middle class hotel chain.

Wyndham should be embarrassed to represent this property. The hotel did not have any parking, so we made our own spot up front by the office. We went to our room. It was almost midnight, so we had no choice but to sleep. I've attached photos.

This place is overpriced and underserviced. Management is rude and run poorly. It has gone down hill since my last visit 1 year ago considerably. The complimentary breakfast was completely bare minimum. The only fruit served was bananas. (last time they had apples & oranges also) No bagels or pastry.

Hot tub hours are 10 am to 10 pm instead of opening at 8 am so guests have time to use it before check out at 11 am. (check in at 3pm) Nearly $300/night for 20 hours? 00 when we arrived.

My Itinerary number was 18316918422. I stayed at the 5905 Victoria Ave | Niagara Falls, ON, CA L2G 3L8 location between July 16 - 17. I have not stayed at the Howard Johnson in many years when visiting the falls.

Even though there were more affordable accommodations we decided to try it. 1st of all the hotel is nice and very well located at the falls. The booking experience was excellent and the check in staff were great. The problem we experienced is with the customer service we needed at 10 pm in the evening.

My wife and I came back to our room 614. We settled in for the evening and I tried to make my wife a coffee. The machine stopped 1/2 way through and I understand that things happen. With most hotels we stayed at all we needed to do is call the front desk for help.

I was first out in room 325. The room had a file order, the bed was low, it was small and close and the bathroom wasn’t clean. I was then moved to room 330 which was near an exit. Preferably I don’t do exits.

We booked online through Agoda. Pictures etc looked fine. We have stayed at your hotels before. We got there and it was the dirtiest hotel I had ever seen. We didn't even think it would be safe for our 1 year to crawl around. It smelled of marijuana, smoke, and was just filthy. Sheets, carpets, floors, bathroom etc. Were completely disgusting. I found hair all over the bathroom walls and in the shower. I also asked them if they could clean the Windows, because they were really dirty like nobody ever cleaned them . and they told me they didn't want to.

And the hotel some parts smelled like piss , and some of the staff was really rude. All in all we want to come back but I hope things get better their. And me being a Military Veteran they did not show no respect what so ever.

We submitted a complaint to the manager and we still have not heard from him: My second day in the Hotel Water was falling from the ceiling and my wife was taking a nap while she got all wet from the water that dropped from the bathroom of the people on the second floor. When exiting with the plates Linda a black lady at the front desk gave me a horrible look and said who is all that for. I told her 3 people and she proceeded to act like I was lying about even staying there and wanted my room number.

Never have I been so embarrassed in my life and there was two other couple in the lobby that heard this. I was so embarrassed I didn't even go back to make my plate and I only had two plates for the two other people in my room..

A stay at your hotel location on 42nd st and vanburen in phoenix arizona and my speaker was stolen from my room upon me leaving thw room for it to be cleaned. When i went to the front desk to ask who had cleaned the room the rep was VERY.

rude and condescending twlling me it was my fault it was stolen because i left the room. But i left UPON THEIR request so thw room could be serviced. It was right on the nightstand and when i went back it was gone.

We are rewards members and have stayed at many hj hotels in the past and have never had any type of issues. This person you have representing your company is a theif and more than likely a drug addict. I have been staying at the Howard Johnson Collegepark ga Phoenix Blvd may stay was great UNTIL yesterday!!!!!!! A friend of mine paid my reservation at the front desk for me then 5 hours laters decided to go back to the front desk and demand his money be put back on his card.

He didnt know what room i was in so he had the front desk to call me twice to come down. I came down and a MANAGER named DEE told me that she was giving him a refund and i had to pay or leave the room.

I explained that we had an agreement and part that was for him to pay for my room. My "friend" was there saying as loud as a he could I want her out I dont care. I began staying at the Howard Johnson hotel, room #205 in Wheat Ridge, Colorado on April 15 paying a monthly rate. Everything was fine until a week ago when I noticed 3 different bed bugs crawling near me as I sat on the bed at different times Saturday May 18, 2019.

I verbally informed the management at the front desk the next day on Sunday May 19, 2019. They spoke of making a room inspection, but such never occurred. I brought in my own vacuum cleaner and have been vacuuming daily.

Didn't see and more bugs all last week and was happy thinking maybe it was just last remaining few from next door room #207 which they had brought in a heater system for 3 days in that unit. Unfortunately, last night (Sunday May 26, 2019 I witnessed 2 different bed bugs and a tiny baby one.
