However, I do believe they are incorrect about some aspects of tax law, specifically as it relates to IRAs and direct charitable distributions. I went in to discuss the problem on both my 2020 and 2021 returns today and the representative argued with me that the distributions, which had not been subtracted from my RMD amount on the first page of the 1040, were, instead, appropriately deducted using Schedule A.

That is, indeed, not even allowed as per the IRS web site which I reviewed this afternoon. The representative also insisted that I must have documentation "from m y IRA custodian" that the checks written on my account went to charitable organizations.

I had to go to the local IRS office in Galesburg, Illinois three times. February 26, 2023 the IRS processed my taxes after I had to provide them with my tax info, sign a copy, and receive a letter 3064C explanation that there were no taxes filed on January 26, 2023 or after, never from H&R block.

I requested a refund after my second IRS appointment February 7, 2023 and was told the refund check was in the mail but would take 7-14 days snail mail. It is March 9, 2023 and I have not received a dime.

My husband and I went to file at HR block this year. We have a simple file, two W-2s and one dependent. Was charged $315 dollars for the services!! Both of us tried to call “corporate” and they gave us claim number but never followed up.

They are terrible to work with and will NEVER pay that much to get my simple taxes filed.

H&R customer service over the phone are very rude. One person tells you one thing and the other person tells you something different. Then they transfer you to the manager and the manager gives you attitude then hangs up the phone on you.

I told my taxes on January 28th 2023 and there is a problem with them at the IRS, they are still being review today. I have emailed my tax prep lady numerous times and still have yet to get ANY answers as to why.

I filed my final Canadian tax return from NC early 2021.

There have been 4 filings each one filled with mistakes, I have spent so many hours on the phone asking for help in correcting the mistakes it is a joke.

My tax preparer neglected to account for my $30000 in Federal Tax prepayments for 2022 and $20000 in CA State Tax prepayments for 2022 as well. That is a total of $50000 in mistakes. He only corrected them, 1 at a time, as I called and emailed all the information twice. This is completely unacceptable.

I also received a bill for an additional $7000 for 2021 from the IRS in July 2022. When I tried to get clarification and help resolving the issue, I had to leave messages at 3 different offices. I finally got a call back 3 weeks later on the Friday before the bill was due on Monday.

Had my taxes done with local office to get my 2021 and 22 taxes done in which tax. Preparer needed a number for my tax exception so I showed her 2020 taxes and she ended up during all three yrs and did not even tax except my 21 in which too a few thousand from my 2022 .

My taxes were all screwed up numbers were entered in wrong and the local office took there sweet time over a week to fix and now I'm still waiting for refund they promised me and had to send in my own amendment she messed up on. There promise to make it right is horse crap.

When filing my taxes this year I met a branch owner who happens to own several branches in the area. He was very chatty and continued into personal conversation while I was asking tax questions.

Finally the conversation took a deep dive into the life of his daughter and his opinion on the correlation between how a woman dresses and who is responsible if she is violated. I was astonished and couldn't wait to over pay and leave the conversation.

I don't care if it's the man's business and I don't care about his views however horrible I feel they are these topics should not be discussed over tax papers and I feel concerned for the women working for him.

Didn’t submit taxes to IRS. Put paperwork in a “holding drawer”. Didn’t contact me to let me know they weren’t submitted until I never got anything back from IRS I called HnR Block in Lamoni Iowa where I had them done that’s when they told me about the “drawer”.

I filed my income tax return with the H&R Block here in Lexington, KY at the Tates Creek Shopping Center. Chlone is the prepared and handled the return, she has messed up the return and in stead of rectifying the situation she passes on like she is in the right. “Peace of Mind” and “Audit and Tax Notice Support” are just catchy phrases to entice you to use their service. After receiving a letter from the IRS for tax error and $ penalty, I spent countless hours trying to get support from H&R Block.

I had just filed my taxes with H&R Block, I sat in the AZ office for two hours with Mariam, who was helpful during the entire process.

She ran into some issues with the return, some boxes that she had missed were not checked and would not let her Review and Finalize the process- if I recall he system called it Qualify Process Return. I filled out my taxes online by myself and then right before I e filed I got an option which was check your return by an agent and have audit protection.

My tax preparer failed to see the closing report on my house sale in September, and when I pointed it out to him, he did not seem to understand how to read it. It also so happened that he had already submitted the return.

I had UTE Newell at the Woodcreek Plaza shopping center in Fairfield ca do my income taxes for the year 2022. I did not receive my state refund, so I called UTE for help and the first time i called I was told that she went home for the day, I ask to leave her a message and I was told to call back to tomorrow.

I called back the next day and I was told that she was with a client and she wood call me back as soon as she was finished, I never heard from her. I then went down to the office to try to speak to her and I was told that she went home for the day.

Scheduled an appointment for in person, when I showed up for my appointment they said the person THEY picked for me only does drop off. I just relocated and have several questions regarding it. I was told they would be done in a week.

It is now 2 weeks later, I was told my taxes were transferred to a different office and they lost my wife’s w-2, student loans, and mortgage information. Now I am getting the run around from them and getting no answers.

Using the tax software for Maryland, I was unable to prevent my mutual bond interest from being treated as out-of-state and therefore as an addition to Federal AGI for the computation of Maryland AGI. In fact, this interest was almost all in-state and therefore not subject to Maryland tax.

By printing out the form and reading it before signing and mailing it, I was able to avoid paying about $1,000 more than was due. But I wasted a lot of time trying to get the software to work properly, and I had to prepare the return by hand rather than using your software.

Made the process long and harder.

I had my taxes done this year with an H & R Block pro in the office. And it said online that it will cost me $85 when I had it done the total price for filing my taxes was $285.

Why was I charged so much? I had a hard time paying rest of my bills cause I was charged so much. I want some of my money refunded I should only be charged $85. I had it done at the Scottsbluff, NE office.

I was very sick and couldn't even get out of bed for almost a week, my grandmother had just passed away so I was so very depressed and my mind everywhere. I was still able to do my taxes by MYSELF online with NO help and just sent them into a h&r block specialist that I had never met, but trusted h&r block.

25 tax. On 2/7/23 I finished my my federal taxes and I wanted to look at the Colorado tax information. To my surprise the state portion of the software requested me to pay for the state of Colorado and I stopped at that point.

I had bought the state with my original 2022 Deluxe + State on 1/23/23 so I contacted someone on Chat at H&R Block and they sent me the State of Colorado which I downloaded and all looked good. On 2/17/23 I resumed my software preparation after a state of Colorado and IRS discussion was resolved.

Last year (2022) and this year (2023) when I had my tax returns done here in Sanilac county Michigan at two seperate H&R Block offices, both times they entered the wrong checking account # for the IRS to deposit my refund. The first year they made the error they wrote my account number from one of my checks and added an extra 0 at the end of the number.

And this year I dropped my tax forms off to get done without me being there in person, and I had written down my checking account and routing # and left it with them, AND the same error as last year was either still in the system, or added on the form again.

I’ve been a faithful H&R Block customer for over 10 years, I have always had a good experience going into my local H&R office and sitting face to face with a tax professional and being done that night, you charge a fortune but it was worth the great service and knowledgeable staff.

I went to do my taxes at the Pierre SD office on 3-16-2023. Everything I thought was going good until we finished up. Then I got a surprise. They charged me $272. but when I called a week earlier they told me it would be about the same amount as last year when I only had to pay $145.

What really made me upset they didn't explain why it was going to cost me another $130. more until they finished up my tax return. Because if I would have known that I never would have had them do my taxes!

I definitely won't never be coming back to HR Block to do my taxes again and I definitely won't recommend having their taxes done there! I will be telling everyone how I got treated!
