Is it common practice to give large discounts for cash payments right from the start of estimate showing?

I took my car to the Meineke Auto Care Center on Veteran's Parkway in Columbus last Thursday because I thought it needed a tuneup. 95 each and with labor, would cost a total of $306. I made an appointment for 10am yesterday and I was there at 10.

He told me I'd have to leave it and come back when he called me to tell me it was done, which I did. I am not a mechanic so I complied. When he tells me it's fixed I go get it.

The check engine light is still on and hard to crank. He then shows me on the computer where I might have to have another sensor but he had to let some man he knows look at it to tell for sure.

Went in for a oil change to find out the owners in the Sparks Nevada location are selling full synthetic for every oil change, basic, blend, and full. They are selling the same oil for everything but asking for $80 for a full synthetic when I could get a basic oil change for $19.00 for full synthetic. Over heard a few of the people working for the company speaking about it while I was in the restroom.

Went to the Meineke on 13 in Delaware took my car there cuz I had a ride on underneath the guy was trying to charge me $100 and then he called and said you got to pay cash for that so I said okay get the car fixed then he calls me back and said he found another problem that's going to call six hundred and

7 into Meineke because I needed my performance struts put on and an alignment. I also asked for a diagnosis on my car for a hard vibrating in center of car (I supposed the center support bearing) and my temp gauge stopped working.

I needed those things done. They came across other issues in suspension and they fixed it which I was okay with they did great with my suspension.

However I paid over 2300 and the issues I had brought it in for was not fixed and they assured me the gauges worked. When I picked up my car it wasn't being driven the easiest, and it had gained an light on my dash, a red lightning bolt in parentheses.

They said it was my motor mounts, and said 500 more dollars and they can fix that. So my suspension got fixed, my temp gauges did not get fixed, my car gained a new…

On Dec. 3 2018 I had my vehicle at Meineke for services. At that service I had my front pads and rotors replaced. The warranty was for two years. About 4 months ago I was hearing a scrubbing when I applied the brakes.

Being in the middle of a pandemic I just recently went back to Meineke and the rivets had let go on a pad. Faulty pad no doubt. 80 labour for instaliation. 12 instaliation. I already paid for instaliation. I should not be charged a second time. 12. This is ridiculous.

Seeing they didn't want to put a smile on my face after collecting $308 for complete brake job didn't wipe off the black smudges off my hubcap, ,did not want to check brake fluid unless they were forced to open my hood when I got home , and they pump the brakes had fluid all on top of master cylinder and fluid dripping down off inside my inside fender walls etc.. wall they act like they had to be forced to check brake fluid they don't normally do it lets a customer request to do it

In jan/Feb of 2018, I went to meineke for some auto repairs/upgrades. Spent hundreds upon hundreds of dollars to do so and now 2 years later have had to have multiple fixes done to those "repairs" that werent done correctly.

One repair was the manifold gasket, costing me around $570. Just got my car back from another shop where they had to refix the shitty work done by meineke mechanics. That fix cost me $600. They had to replace not only the gasket but also the bolts that hold the manifold into place.

According to the shop that redid the work it was missing 2 upper bolts that hold the manifold in place causing a leak which eventually caused it to have to be replaced. This shouldnt have happened after only 2 years and the bolta didnt just fall out, they were never put in in the first…

1191 N Colony Rd Wallingford CT. I have used Meineke in Massachusetts for a long time and felt i could trust the name until now. My daughter is in school in CT her car broke down across from this store this past December.

She brought it in and charged an outrages amount for the work. I got prices from another franchise and was significantly lower in labor and parts. 00 for a tensioner and a drive belt belt. 00 which sounds more reasonable for the car.

I already tried to fight it with the CC company with no luck. I spoke with the CT Franchise and they told me they couldn't do anything about it and to call the owner Robert Dumont. 800-447-3070. Turns out this is not the owner and I did not get any answers.

I don't expect to get anywhere with this complaint so I will complain to the BBB…

Hello, my name is Antonia Ramos and I had a appointment on January 24th at the meineke claymont Delaware location. I was charged $180 cash by Johnathan that was at the front desk. They installed a valve cover gasket I purchased, 4 new spark plugs and a oil change.

On jan 27th my brother replaced my front bumper so I can take it to maacco to get painted but there was oil leaking grom underneath the car. I called Johnathan and he said how can my brother tell that the oil is leaking just from putting on a front bumper?

I went online and set up an appointment. When I get to Meinke Iwas told I had no appointment. Because I got it online it was no good. The owner said he only takes appointments by phone. Now how am I to know this since was my 1st time at this Meinke.

Then he says I was welcome to wait and "see" if he could work me in . Nope I had an appointment for a reason at 1pm. Needless to say I will not be talking kindly about this company.

Re: Meineke Store 279 Ballwin, MO. I had a scheduled 7:30 am appt for brake service today, Friday 12/13. The shop was to open at 7:30 am however no employees were there to open the store. I waited around until 8 am thinking maybe they were just running late but no one ever showed.

There were 2 other customers waiting as well. No one ever called me to apologize or explain why the store was not opened or why they missed by appointment. I can understand that maybe one employee was running behind but there was no one there and since I gave up at 8 am and left, I have no idea what time they finally decided to show up to work.

This is extremely poor customer service. This was my first time to schedule service with Meineke and also my last.

Took my Jeep grand CHEROKEE in to have two tires put on and balanced. And they put them on never balanced them and charged me for balanceing them. I work hard for my money. Took it back and they balanced them , no apology nothing .

I was charged 275 dollars for rear drum break.. while waiting for repair I was called on on cell and told there was another issue with my router and it will be an extra 175 need so I went back nd ask why am I being charged more then

my original price so they told me I need a new part that can't be put back on so I told them I called auto and they have the part 85 percent cheaper and that I can go buy it for them to install than he immediately says oh that's fine we can make it work with what we have..

like what so than they ended up putting my old break drums that were not damaged at all back on my care gave me the new ones because I ask for my money back?

When you get to the business and everyone is standing around just worried about getting snacks a talking it isn't good. We saw customers leave because they got tired of waiting. One hour for an oil change. Not good. Waiting to have a truck checked out and waited 2 hours. To many standing around.

It happening at your store on terms and bell rd. in As. Just have to spread the word on don't go there. Bad service. Need someone there to keep people in line. Do Your Job

So I brought my car into shop 2377 on the 5th. 75 and after interest over $3800. Invoice # 24352. But i needed my breaks done immediately. So went ahead with it. Even though right next door was under $1000.

But they didn't have time that day. The shop "repaired" my brakes and i picked up my car. The very next day driving a caliper fell off. So i had to have a mobile mechanic come out and fix my brakes on the side of the road.

Putting me out even more money. This is not ok. Not only was i ripped off on the cost of new brakes but they weren't even properly put back together. I could have caused a serious accident had i been cruising down the freeway when that fell off.

I've complained to customer service. And corporate hasn't returned my call. Worst service I've ever had. I want my costs…

I called a Meineke shop on Rutherford RD (Brampton) and was informed by Dennis that to change my front brakes on my Nissan Sentra 2012 I would pay something between $200 and $350. Once i got into the shop he informed would be $350 and asked to see the wheels where needed to replace a part for $90.

At the end I asked if he could do cheaper and he said $420. When i went to pay he said would do everything for $500. I was ripped off here.

First because price to change brakes was way to expensive and secondly I thought the prices where final so therefore I should of paid maximum $420 and not $500. Last March, I was towed into your shop on Roxury in SEATTLE by roadside assistance due to carburator issues. John, the manager, put a zip tie on my carburator and called it good. Charged me $124. A few days later, after researching carb prices and rebuild costs, i called him and questioned the charge.

He said he had carbs at his house and or he would order the rebuild kit. Neither materialized. He over charged me, deleted the invoice, while the tool guy was loading up a new toolbox for his son, new employee.

After numerous attempts to resolve this, I believe a refund is due.

I got my alternator twice changed in 2days with battery changed twice also and coolant, tire. After the service I took the vehicle and in few hours I was stuck on road. So they took my car and changed the alternator and battery and gave me back the car.

After 2days I was stuck on the road again 40mins away from home with my family at nite. So I called one guy he helped us to get the car towed and told we will get our refund for Uber.

His very polite and helpful. Again third time they changed the alternator and it’ was their fault again. On tuesday my husband went to pick the car and one white guy told him off on the counter that we were not supposed to leave the car by itself and can charge us $200.

I took my truck to get an oil change and tire rotation now my car is making a noise like if I have a flat tire rotation when I check only 3 of my 5 screws on the passenger side of the truck is there. The lock to secure my wheel is missing and the other three screws wasn't tighten enough. Which I could have gotten kill.

I took my truck in to be repaired I under an Insurance case their mechanic did a faulty job and I could never realign my truck I took it back to them for them to fix it and they kept telling me that something else was bent under the truck they told me they couldn’t work on it anymore because State Farm will not pay for the parts they told me I needed to take it to someone else I took it to Ford for replaced the part that they put on incorrectly and

My mother and i (african american women) brought her car in to get her brakes and rotors checked around tthe 4th of July. The manager kept trying to make her get front and back rotors but she knew that only her only signs were front brakes were going bad and she asked him to see her rotors.

The manager who was a Caucasian male begin to yell at her about he doesnt have to lie about her rotors. All she did was ask to see how much they were down. The manager ranted at her and slammed the door behind him.

He came back still with his voice still raised. I approached the counter and let him know that being her daughter i dont address her like that and im not going to sit here and listen to him yell at my mother especially when you are offering a service that costs money.

My back brakes where making noise so I got new rotors and brake pads on the back brakes and they said they that I should get front brakes also. I also got brake fluid change two new tires in the back.

Now my front brakes are making noise and they said I need to have my rotors resurfaced. 99 for them to do the resurfacing for the rotors. But why wasn’t it recommend the first time. I and so unhappy and the work cost me $634 and I’m already back in less then 2 months

Prior to going to work, my car battery died and I had to have it jumped with my husband's car. I brought in the car to meineke, and upon inspection they reported the battery and alternator needs to be replaced. I def. Knew the battery needed to be replaced but I didnt think the alternator needed to be esp since I brought this car two years ago as brand new. The car only has about 50k miles. I told meineke they can change the battery for 200 plus dollars but do not touch the alternator in which they wanted to charge me 600 dollars. So I decided to get a second opinion take the car to Nissan since that was where I got the car from. The following day I took the car to Nissan who stated there is nothing wrong with alternator.

Moral of story: Do not go to meineke, they will rob you…

I want in to see what is wrong with Ac. A $119 job. Then they said my belt tension was bad Add $690 now we are at $855. That won’t fix Ac supposedly I need new compressor I have a 2014 Mercedes.

So now the job is supposedly $2600. Ok soo want home and looked up the part for my belt tension it’s $201 but they are charging me $490. I asked why he says had to special order it. But rite next door the part is $201 so why.

I took my car for the air conditioner to get serviced. They worked on my car for an hour and a half. Doing things like hitting the gas while my car was on park. The end result was they blew a head gasket and are refusing to fix it. c.

It was the constant reving of the engine that ultimately blew my head gasket. I’ve called the complaints number I found online but no one has reached out to me. This incident took place July 2nd. My car still doesn’t work.

It over heats and starts smoking within minutes of being driven. This problem NEVER EXISTED before I brought the car to them.

Hello. I received the most horrible experience with the Meinke location on Indian River rd Va Beach VA. On /Or about May 31. I took my 2006 Grand Cherokee laredo in for a tune up. After waiting over 2hours to be advised of $910, I refused.

After refusing a $910 tuneup my car has been stalling out leaking oil and vibrating once the ignition is turned on, which wasn't in that condition when it was brought there. Once I left the office I spoke with the tech which informed me that nothing was needed with my air conditioning system which is new.

The office manager was attempting to overpriced me. I also was told by your tech the only problem with my vehicle was a need to change 5th spark plug. no need for air condition flush nor anything else. Very disappointing to see the lack of service nor…

Phil printed up my transmission needs for my review. I returned and gave him my specific requests. I requested they remove, fabricate & install transmission cooler pipe-both A/T. Absolutely nothing else. I had stockpiled transmission fluid in my vehicle because of the leak (6 qts).

Took my 2015 Ram Crew Cab to Key Ln Meineke on 6/28/19 for NC inspection. Counter person asked if my front windows were tinted. I responded only factory tint applied by manufacturer. 00 charge for tinted wdos. I informed the Manager of the store I have owned the truck since new and have never paid a wdo tint charge.

He replied I should take it up with NC DMV, that he is required to test tinted wdos by the DMV. As I left I searched DMV wdo tint charge on the NC DMV website where it plainly states the wdo tint inspection is for after market tinting only.

Had a ac problem, took it to meineke. Was charged $400 (ac test and connector) had car back. Didn't work. Went back and was charged $500 (ac test again and this time a hoes). Was told its working. Picked up on Saturday. Drove car on monday. Ac still isnt working.

Meineke car care centre #763. I took my car for air condition service blowing hot air. I sat hours for them tell me they kept ordering wrong part. I ended up getting a rental car for 2 days. Until they figured it out.

I ended having air for 6months. Had to bring it back started blowing hot air again. I was told the air compressors was defected. So the order another one, then tell me something belongs as part of the air compressor went bad.

I will have to pay for that part. Not even 1month later no air and discover stolen parts off my car, missing car sign that was on the engine, cooling reservoir cap, and did not bolt back parts needed to hold the cover of my car together.

Horrible experience i am now waiting to see with corporate how this is going to be resolved due to my car issue was…

Son took fully functioning car into meineke to have new brakes, flex pipes and an oil change and was charged $908. They tell him he needs tires for inspection so he goes and gets 3 new tires but they say they don't have time to do the inspection that day.

Car starts sputtering a few days later, the oil light comes on and he has it towed to the mechanic shop on the corner. They tell him the oil is bone dry, they filled it with oil and said his motor is not sounding right and they won't touch it, says take it back to meineke.

He has it towed there and they tell him it is an oil leak from a bad front gasket and they will fix it. They call a couple hours later and say that will be another 400+ dollars and so I get on the phone and he drops the price to $318 bucks.

Stopped by your Augusta, Me location on Thursday, June 6th for a routine oil change. Your manager,Ron blatantly misled and lied, stating my break pads were rubbing metal and my front and rear brake pads needed to be replaced.

Since this is not the first time he he’s provided false information, I was reluctant to move forward with an $800.00 repair before getting a second opinion.

On Monday, June 17th I made an appointment with a local dealer to perform a multi point inspection. Result: All brakes are at 5 MM in accordance with Maine state law.

Yesterday, we had our 2008 Passat Lux inspected at Meineke in Williamsburg, VA. The vehicle failed due to a 2 inch tear in the drivers side windshield wiper. This had happened several times over the past 12 years, so I carefully check the vehicle before inspection (lights, wipers, tires, brake pads, etc) and ensure necessary repairs are completed. However, this time I took pictures of the perfectly serviceable wipers before the inspection.

When I brought this to their attention, they rudely requested that I leave the premises, or they would all the police. My wife stayed and requested that the wiper be replaced, resulting in, what I considered to be, an inappropriate expense.

took my 92 ranger to shop in McCalla Alabama to have ac fixed. i picked up the truck the next day and the ac was not blowing cold air, ac man there doesn't even have a pocket thermometer, said he thinks the ac was blowing 64 degrees.

according to the ford standards the ac should be blowing 35-45 degree air. Meineke kept the vehicle another day and not heard from them yet. i would appreciate if you would get involved to get my ac right.

Took my truck in for some exhaust work. Went on a Saturday morning around 8am. Was told they would get it done by 3 pm. Was also told a few hours before it could be inspected for a qoute. Never heard from them after about 3 and half hours.

Took vehicle in for alignment. 5 hours. I asked for refund right then and was refused. Another hour goes by and they say they cant align the front due to tie rod tension. After 3 hours there i walked away charged for full service and they didnt align the front whatsoever and on the paper i have actually made my alignnment worst than it was when i brought it in!

Ive called customer service 3 times ( today will be my 4th) and they keep saying an assigned worker is assigned and will call me. Its been one month and not one call back fron anyone. I am looking into a lawsuit here shortly if left unresolved, this is theft.

Went in with coupon from Corporate Office for 1/2 off Air Conditioner Recharge. I presented it to Caleb at the Franklin NC Center # 2042, he advised that they did not honor the coupon, but that they would take $40 off the advertised price of $139 for 2 pounds of Freon .

He advised that Corporate just sent out discounts and did not consult them about it. That Most Meineke Car Centers just raised the price to cover the charges. Then he came back and told me that they would honor the coupon. 8 oz was used.

50 (a car and a half) then they gave me the 1/2 off, just about what they told me that it would be. 8 oz of Freon and had to charge me extra. I could not convince him that there was 16 oz in a pound.

The Man next to me said that he had to wait for 4 hours one time for just and oil change…

Took my van into Meinke on Geoge Bishop Pkwy Myrtle Beach SC to have my air conditioner fixed. It’s works good when driving but turns hot when not moving. 00. I told him fine but if it was going to cost anymore I just wouldn’t have it done.

He assumed me it wouldn’t be a penny more. As soon as I left the shop I had to turn right back around after paying over 500 because It was doing the exacted same thing. He put on new fan and juiced it up which did nothing still have same problem.

Now he’s saying it will cost another 600 to be fix. Reported it to BBB and in his comments he said he has tried to call to resolve the issue but he has never called I have phone records to prove that and I was never offered to talk to owner.

I just want what they said they would do and fix it shouldn’t have…

I had a problem with my VW Passat. I am a member of your rewards club and have 3 cars under service with Meineke. The Passat was towed in to your Englewood NJ location. It was discovered I needed a new battery and a new alternator.

The cost was very high but I went ahead and had the work done. I paid over $1,000 for the alternator and $250 for the battery. I used the car for a few days maybe driving 20-25 miles. One day a few days after the work was done it would not start, or even turn over.

The battery was completely dead. I had it towed in again to Englewood NJ after a few months of trying to start it and it standing in my driveway unused. After several days I was told the alternator was not a new one that was put in but a rebuilt.

I took my car to a Meineke in Rogers, Arkansas. I needed an ac check and I also asked for an oil change. I received a call from the owner “Bob” saying “is there a trick to turn off your car”.

I told him I would be right there. I drove over to the business and my car was running (I have no idea how long it had been running). I attempted to turn the key off and it was stuck in the ignition.

The key was turned the wrong way and was logged in the ignition cylinder. He proceeded to tell me that “things break”. I told him my car was perfectly fine when I drove in. He continued to deny that he was responsible.
