PETCO faces severe customer service issues including extremely long wait times, unresponsive staff, and rude managers. Major operational problems exist with online prescription orders where veterinary faxes are not received and medications are significantly delayed. Store conditions show serious animal welfare concerns with dead fish, dirty tanks, and neglected small animals.

34 at store #300. On 10/1/19 I went to return the items (didn't fit) I asked for cash back I was informed by the cashier he could only do gift card unless supervisor over rides the amount. The supervisor Mason Mccarty looked at my receipt and gave approval for cash back and left the store.
L 3 told us under no circumstance would he or could he give cash back, I explained Mason had already approved. He called Mason on the phone and Mason went back on his word. I was told that if I had a problem I could call the corporate office.
I did reach out to the corporate office, after 5 attempts I finally spoke to a corporate supervisor John from Nevada. In the mean time my husband called back to the store speaking with Mason who said he made a mistake and if he gave cash back he would be fired.…
No communication about my order for 5 days------none.
My friend and I buy a lot of product, usually daily betwee$15 and $30 for a big rescue! A lot of times we get there at around 10 min till closing and the employees always hassle us. Tonight we walked in at 10 min till 7 on the dot and he was letting people out the door... and said "Hurry up"!
I'm tired of getting hassled! Either you're open till 7 on Sun and open till 9 on the rest of the week or you're not. If you want to close at 10 till... then frikkin change your damn hours!!!
The products are very good. My complaint is the unfriendly employees. I have found the store at 4012 W 27th Ave, Kennewick to have a preponderance of employees that would rather you did not come into the store. You have bothered the young women's discussion of their night out, boyfriends, etc.
Imagine, interrupting such world shaking events in order to spend $100 plus dollars for merchandise. Unbelievable is it not?? Management needs to train their employees that personal life discussions are ok when there are no customers needing help. I personally am tire of standing waiting for a discussion to wrap up so I can pay and leave.

So I called today to see when I was receiving my auto delivery of dog food. The representative ( Sheila )on the phone told me I never ordered anything. So I asked her if I didn’t order anything why was money taken from my account she said there was no money removed from my account and told me if there was it would take about a week to get it back.
So she stated well I can send you out more dog food it will be there in 2-5 business days when I stated I was out of dog food she said she couldn’t do anything about it . While trying to just hurry up and tried to get me off the phone, so I cancelled my auto shipment and went to the store.
She was rude and didn’t care if she lost business. I spend a good amount of money at Petco and I don’t know if I will any longer.

We go out of our way to go to this petco. Today service was horrible. Only 2 girls working. We waited 15 minutes and no one acknowledged us. We even stood right by the fish and watched them. When they had no customers to ring out the started talking instead of helping.
Then a girl came in with coffee for them and they paid more attention to theat.

My son has a pet snake. you never have any! bc you sell them all within the first day! maybe order more. it's not like they have short expiration days and will go bad. My only other option is to goto the flee market on the weekend and get them from the guy who sells there which I hate being forced to do!
I've been to his house where he crams all of the animals in his garage and where he has whole tubs full of dead mice and rats that've died from negligence bc they just weren't sold. PetCo is forcing me to help fund that! order more!

09/18/19 This morning I was in your store at 1670 Airport Blvd in Pensacola, Florida. I have been going to the store since the very first day it opened and have always loved the service and friendly store associates until today.
I went up to checkout and asked the associate for my normal order of female crickets. Since I have never dealt with her before, I had to explain which were the females. I get the females since they do not chirp and I am feeding 5 tarantulas and they go threw them at a slow rate - last me up to 2 weeks.

I took my medical alert dog to Petco on Robert St in St Paul today. August 17 at 10:00 for a grooming appointment. After quite a while I received a phone call from the groomer informing me that my dog had been transported by the manager to the Animal hospital because she had cut his ear while doing his face.

I recently took my soon to be 6 month old puppy in for a bath and cut and was very disappointed in her grooming and how I was treated. I first took my puppy in for a consultations to to discuss getting my puppy groomed to ensure that my needs for my dogs grooming would be met.

I take my dog Kiko to the Hamilton store in Sioux City, Is. We have been taking him there for 17 years. The last time I took him ,I wanted him shaved really close to skin. When I picked him up he wasn't, they said they do not do that anymore.
I talked to the groomer and she said to take my dog to a different groom place, that I complain a lot! I usually have kiko shaved, bathed, all facial hair removed, nails cut, sometimes when I pick him up ,I get all the way home and he still have whiskers or parts are not shaven or he's cut or bleeding somewhere.

I ordered wee pads online and used paypal to pay for them. I received the smaller pads which was not what I ordered. I went to your site and clicked on return and received a return receipt to take to my nearest petco which is 38 miles away, one way... Almost 80 miles.

Petco Pharmacy sent my Prescription to New Jersey, I don't live in New Jersey, never have - I have lived in Illinois 64 years!!! Called Petco 3 times, mulitple (4) E-Mails. Sales says they sent Fax to Pharmacy telling them they sent to incorrect address - Pharmacy says they sent but they are not checking the wrong - address they sent it to, Tracking they keep sending is for New Jersey address. I've been taking my miniature Eskimo dog for 17 years, we used to have him shaved very close, kind of skin to skin. Well the last 2 times it wasn't they told me it never was done like that ,oh yes it was, so they were calling me a lier,i so they will not do it.
His hair grows fast and every time it's about $70. He has those little pink pimples on him so sometimes they bleed. So if hes cut or bleeding, I call just to ask about it. I do call and ask questions or if I find hair that they missed.
Well aparently they said I can no longer bring him to them unless the manager does the grooming, which she is on maternity leave until November! I taked to the store manager, but she was just as rude , saying I complain a lot.

Our 2 Newfoundlands went to be groomed on Sunday at Petco. Monday after coming home from work we noticed a terrible odor coming from one of the dogs. As we tried to look we found drainage and a foul smell coming from the back end of Midas(our dog).
I tried to see exactly what was wrong and in doing so I was bitten by my dog, which had never happened. We called the vet and brought him in. The vet smelled the odor and said they would have to take him back and shave him to examine what was going on.
Ends up my dog was cut and had multiple abrasions from them deshedding and de-matting him. The Petco did pay for the vet as they talked to my vets office after being examined.
However, they had to shave my beautiful dog and he is still in pain and not eating or wanting to move. Called vet today…
On 01 Sep 2019 I entered the Petco Store (#2805) located in Woodmore Plaza, MD. There were large boxes in the main aisle piled high over on the left. The store clerk was assisting a family interested in the gerbils.
There was a store clerk in the grooming area. Other than that, there were no clerks at the registers near the door. When I obtained my selected items and moved to the register area, I noticed that the floors around the clerks register were full of trash and debris.
My immediate impression was that the quality of service at this location is declining, and I think I will shop elsewhere in the future.

19, when the cashier that was ringing us up had called another employee over and started whispering and staring at my daughter and myself. It made is feel uncomfortable and found that very rude and unprofessional. Because of this I will be changing stores.

I am very disappointed with trying to place my Pet RX order with Petco. I know they contacted my vet for the Prescription and I know my Vet replied back promptly 2 times. Petco says they did not receive it, something needs to be done where they have a more acquirate contact number.
My Vets office is a very busy office, they send out these orders for their patients and receive nothing for that service. I did not want to bother my vet a 3rd time for an order that still may not be placed because of a lack of communication from Petco.

I wanted a simple collar for my cat. Nothing simple was available. I spent $29.00 for a collar, leash and a small brush. The cat would not accept the collar/harness, so I physically cut it to make it work. The cat pulled right our of it. I threw it all out. Nothing was useful for my purposes.

I was just recently in your Vista, CA location trying to do an exchange on an infrared heat bulb that I purchased about 3 months ago. The bulb fell apart at the base and I went into the store to do an exchange. My cousin took her dog to be groomed there and they called my cousin saying they slightly nipped her and to come get her. Puppy Mocha, was NOT slightly scathed, she needed surgery & stitches.

Called petco last weekend to make appt. Was told employee coming back from med leave and new employee hired. So was given 10 am appt for sunday. Our dog has extreme anxiety when car so we take her to her appts quickly. We get to Petco. No appt. No groomers.

We have been showering our dog since he was a puppy but due to our busy schedule, we decided to take him to Petco services in Kaneohe, Hi 96744. The first few times was great but for the last few grooming, when we picked him up from the Petco, he has shown some aggression particularly when we touch him on his back.

Went to purchase a new muzzle for my German shepherd at McHenry IL petco. I found what I needed and went to check out. All was fine until the cashier Helen proceeded to lecture me on her dislike of muzzles and question my knowledge on use of muzzles.
I have worked with rescues fostered and own many of my own dogs. I have encountered many different dog personalities. My dogs and my fosters are spoiled however sometimes training tools need to be utilized to keep harmony in the household.

I just visited your store on Westnedge in Michigan I like to look at the reptiles, was visiting in the snake department and I always seem to come across snakes that have improper humidity and temperature and this time I believe I’ve come across the snake that is dying or dead. April, who is one of the Directors for the Dog Training, had no customer service and was very rude. Me and my roommate, who have a dog in training, simply asked can we let her off the leash while she was in the walls of the dog training and she screamed "no" at us instead of being polite and
telling us "for the dogs safety and people around we don't advise that". She had an attitude and also had the class start late. 7:30 pm is too late for a class to start if it is going to end at 8:30 pm.
Provided the groomer with a very adequate description of how we wanted our puppy groomed which was just a trim. When picking up our dog he was pretty much shaved and we were told its medium. We will never use a Petco again for anything!
