Petco has the worst trained employees I have ever known! Their website stated very clearly that if I ordered my dog food before 2pm today, which I did, I would get free same-day shipping. 5 hours later, no delivery and no happy puppies!

When I did a live chat on their site, the rep simply tried to tell me I was out of uck because the product must have been on back order and yeah, the website was worng and they've been meaning to fix that promise about same-day delivery. I had gotten my dog Doc Holliday groomed. Which we have done previously at this same store in Lee’s summit. When this young man about 6ft and stocky with dark brownish black hair, brought my dog out. His collar was twisted and so tight that i could not put ONE of my fingers in the collar.

The collar was so tight that I have to almost rip the collar from my dogs neck. This was so unacceptable. As dog groomers I do assume that they know how to put on a dogs collar PROPERLY. leaving at least two finger spaces.

I am appalled and will never go here again.

I recently bought a koi female betta fish from the East River Tucson AZ 85750 petco store for my 5 year old daughter. The fish died a couple days later unfortunately, so I brought the fish back to the store to get my refund.

I misplaced my receipt and when I asked the manager Lee if she could look up the sku number she immediately gave off a negative attitude. She seemed very oppressed when helping me. After reluctantly entering the sku number, she informed me that it did not come up and she did not care to offer an alternative method of assisting me.

My boyfriend and I purchased a Mexican dwarf crayfish for $9.99 and a baby bristle nose pleco for $4.99 but the guy was so rough when bagging them. They were dead before I even got them in my tank :( just a waste of money and heartache for us! He was nice and friendly but didn’t know much about fish or how to handle them.

On Saturday, 4/10/2021, my husband and I stopped by PetCo to purchase $55.00 of fish for our 75 gallon aquarium. The young sales clerk was being very helpful getting the fish I wanted to purchase.

An older male sales clerk walked right into the clerk helping me. She was at the sink, sorting one fish out of the container. He pushed her out of his way to use the sink and caused the clerk to drop the Angel fish I picked out down the drain! I was so angry, but I held my temper. There was only one Angel fish in the tank with the colored markings I wanted. Your store in West Olympia on or near Black Lake Boulevard, is the dirtiest filthiest business I believe I have ever been in. All the merchandise on every shelf is covered in a layer of dust. I went into purchase a fish tank today pulled it out and it was so filthy that it got my grandsons sweatshirt dirty.

The floors have a layer of dust over them that you could write your name in. Then add all the dogTo that and it is just totally disgusting. I actually think I should be making this complaint to the health department not to customer service.

I will not be going back there, and I will tell everyone I know not to go there as well. Thank you

I bought a beta fish in a complete beta tank System brought it home day and a half later my daughter discovers it dead in the tank. My wife who purchased everything remember the guy saying no worries about buying from Petco because we warrantee or fish.

Well I went to the store today with my receipt to get a new beta fish. The sale associate that helped my wife asked me where the fish was I said I read online that I didn’t need to bring their fish just bring the receipt he gave me this look like I was from another world and

I bought my guinea pig not to long ago, maybe a month. He was fine healthy squeaking, jumping.. all the sudden Today April 10th, 2021 i found him in like a Paralyzed state but he was breathing. That went on for maybe an hour then he started having seizures for like 5 mins.

Then after that he stopped all that then looked like he was gasping for air then that’s when I knew he was gone. I was feeding him good, he was in good clean quiet environment. So i don’t know if he had prior health problems from mass production but. Sadly he passed. RIP Coco

The past three grooming appointments with my dog Princess were subpar and against company policy; the first they cut Princess’s arthritic hip, and then they let her leave with mats visible on the top of her head—after two separate appointments. The mat was so visible and it literally stood up straight and dark, separate from all the soft, lighter, groomed hair, that I challenge the vision and competency of every worker there, including the supervisor/manager whom I think doesn’t exist.

I have been going to Petco to get my dog Chloe grooming for the past 6 years. m. I was met by a young heavy set girl with tatoos (describing because I didn't get her name). I explained to her that the last appt Chloe had for grooming, she did not smell clean when she was picked up by my daughter, and I have never once complained and was always happy with Chloe's grooming service.

The last time Chloe was there, Ashley, who is by far a very experienced and great groomer, was not there. m. scheduling time. I was fine with that and understood that people's schedules sometimes change. When my daughter brought Chloe home, I noticed immediately that Chloe was not groomed like Ashley groomed and Chloe did not even smell clean.

I was at the 2nd of 4 training classes for me to be trained on how to work with my dog Jackson. Mary is the trainer and she is AWESOME! I mentioned to Marty that I had called the salon on Monday- this was Tuesday afternoon during class- and they had not yet returned my call about a nail trim for Jackson.

Mary, Jackson and I walked over to the salon area and we waited to enter because there was a customer with her dog at the desk in the salon . As the customer exited the salon with her dog on a 6 ft lead her dog proceeded about 20 ft where it got right in Jackson’s face.

On the afternoon of April 2 between 3 and 4 pm , I went to the Lewiston petco and bought a cat tree . A young lady employee of Hispanic descent carried the tree out to my friends car and proceeded to try to put it in the back .

She tried aggressively forcing it into the car and after asking her twice to wait and let me move things around she kept shoving it harder almost ripping the lining on the top of the car . This was a 2020 Honda CR-V , brand new .

I was able to stop my friend from getting out of her car ; but if she had there would have been a problem . This employee didn’t listen to either on of us and could have damaged my friends car badly .

Your employees need to be trained in professional courtesy because this one had none at all . I will not return to your store . Shame on…

I've never in my 43 yrs been told a pet store wouldn't sell me fish here in Stillwater ok. I brought a dead zebra in in about an inch of water . That fish was in that bag n water for about 7 hrs.

The lady refused to sell me any fish cause the nitrates were too high. Duh , dead fish sitting in very little water... so I asked about a pocostamus... what the actual hell? Last one we had for about ten yrs the greater majority of that time in a 10 gal tank.

I got two 10s n a 20. I freaking miss aquamart. I promise you , I go into one a their stores with money for fish, I leave with freaking fish... Not some know it all college kid refusing to sell me fish n telling me how to maintain tanks my father's had all my dang life.

While passing through Sandy Springs GA I stopped at PETCO. I discovered a deceased gecko in an enclosure. This animal is emaciated and clearly starved to death. As an owner of a reptile business this is apalling to me. This animal was not eating either due to housing too many together and it was not getting the resources it needed, parasites or as some geckos are it was picky and did not like the type of insect offered.

Any of which are simple fixes. This animal should not have suffered and died at your store's hands. Employees need to be properly educated on the care, diet and husbandry needed for these animals. Situations like this are the reason that state officials are trying to ban the breeding and sales of reptiles.

Please take the time to research and train your employees to care…

I played an order with Petco for my dogs prescription food. I have called customer service, I spoke with a supervisor, my Vet reached out to them several times and after one month of back and forth they canceled my order.?.?

My Vet has been hung up on several times and I have been given no help at all. I called I today after receiving the email that my order was canceled and told the person I wanted to talk to a manager.

They put me on hold and told me there was no manager available that they would have someone call me. It has been hours, no call back. I told the rep. I needed him to create a new order for my canceled order and when he tried the food was no longer in stock.

Talk about poss poor customer service. A month of trying to get this order shipped and they gave my dogs food away…

Ramona at Elyria Ohio Chestnut store has Alzheimer’s- she said she didn’t recommend my senior dog to get gland done and did it anyway!! she also brushed my dogs teeth so hard my dog lost a tooth - my dog is in pain now and I may have to take her to vet She also did a de shedding on my dog that was not part of what I paid for and

Hello, on March 22, 2021 I went into the Petco located at 440 N Main St, East Longmeadow, Ma 01028 looking to purchase fish for my child's first pet. While in the store I spent over 30 minutes talking to an employee about what I would need to buy and do in order to set up a fish tank.

The employee asked if I had a fish tank already set up and I said no she then explained that if I used spring water then I would not have to use a water conditioner etc since all the chemicals would have been removed and would be able to put the fish in their new home that night. ( this is important).

Twice i have scheduled my dog Butch for a bath and both times when we arrived (after waiting 3 to 4 weeks for our appointment) we were told that we didn't have an appointment and turned away. The first time i wrote it off as maybe i messed up my dates but this is ridiculous, a second time now with no resolution.

I am sick and tired of this lack of customer care and attention to detail. Now my dog is paying the price with his constant itching, allergies and suffering for over 2 months without a bath that i pay good money for.

My husband and I took our shih tzu for a grooming appt and thought the appt time was 9:30 and they said it was 9:15. They refused us saying we were late. We have used Petco groomers for the last 2 years and have never been late.

There was absolutely nobody in the grooming area or cages. The floors were clean and there were 2 ladies sitting there talking. We would certainly have been understanding if they were busy but there was nothing at all going on at that time.

I was in your location at Hammock Landing in West Melbourne Florida and I do not like the way your grooming staff handles dogs. They had a little Yorkie last night and she was pulling the hair out of the dogs ear. The dog did not like it one bit, screaming, and crying and trying to bit the handler. Now one that was smart, would stop doing this to the dog, but NO she kept on doing it and the dog kept on crying. ITS TORTURE, ABUSE OF AN ANIMAL AND YOUR EMPLOYEES HAVE TO STOP.

I have been a customer for years and normally have no complaints after my dog has been groomed. This time, however, the groomer that I prefer is not back to work yet and I took my dog into to be groomed.

The job done, was very poor. After I got him home, he started getting sick and his undercoat is still coming out in chunks all over the house. The groomer that did him this time that the complaint is with, her name was Joey, and she did an extremely bad job with him.

For the money I paid to have him done, I expected it to be done properly.

Also, she never brushed his teeth as well which I was under the impression was included in the payment that I made.

Mask mandate in St Louis County is not being enforced. Have photos and video of customer and her kids with dog with no mask. When I addressed with the manager, he just asked if there was anything else he could do.

They did not sanitize after this customer checked out although they were touching everything up at the counter. This info is being sent to the St Louis County Dept of Health.

Have an 16 yr prior abused terrier named Eddie. Each time I try to remind them to take great care of his front shoulders. Andrew has always done his nail trim carefully each time. This time the "manager" & another who agreed with her boss ended up having to use blood stop after hurting Eddie on each paw.

I went to return some fish that had died very soon after purchasing. Thesefish I suspect were sick from the beginning as one fish could not even swim properly soon as put into their forever aquarium. I am an experienced fish keeper and when I was returning the fish the girl who did the refund was incredibly rude and presumptuous.

Telling me that the internet was wrong and she alone knew everything correctly.

However the fish that I was returning were bettas and while she was telling me very incorrect information she proceeded to call these Chinese fighting fish. After her tone and attitude I corrected her in the correct name (Siamese) and instead of accepting this info she replied Chinese.

Hi,

Yesterday I came into Petco at Menlo Park, California with my daughter and noticed a few cats in small cages - I took a picture but cannot attach it for some reason.

When I spoke with the employees at the store, I was told that the cat at the top left cage has been there for over a month and the employees never saw the cats ever getting out of the cage for exercise/socialization.

For a company with over ~4 billion revenue, I’m sure that you can afford to provide these cats with more adequate enclosures, which will also increase their likelihood of being adopted. Giving them space to express their natural behavior will reduce their stress and increase their chances of being adopted.

In Washington State stores are required to enforce mandatory face masks for shoppers in their retail establishments.

However, the Tacoma Mall Petco refuses to do so - and has not done anything to help protect their employees. My son is on a leave of absence due to the careless attitude the store is taking on COVID-19 and lack of employee protection.

I went with him last weekend to get food for his dog, and personally saw multiple customers coming in without masks and employees doing nothing. When my son asked the manager, he said he was instructed by corporate to not enforce the mask policy and not confront customers.

I had an appointment to take my dog to get groomed. I also had her at the vet the week before and there was no mention of a hematoma. I called the vet today and told them what the groomer said and they told me there was no mention of a hematoma.

The vet also advised me that I would be able to tell if my dog had one. I felt like I was turned away. I also ask why couldn't she get groomed the rest of the body and her ears at a later time?

We have been loyal customers for a few years and have been waiting 3 weeks for our grooming appointment. I feel as if the guy who gave my dog an evaluation just didn't want to do the grooming. He told me that I needed to take her to a vet to get her groomed.

My vet does not have a grooming service.

I switched from Chewy to Petco and I wish I never did. I mailed in my Layla's prescription and gave her vet phone number. They charge me for it and say that's not sufficient, I have to call my vet myself.

I got upset and cancelled it. Then they over charge me and I call the bank to stop payment on the debt card purchase, they can not till it posts. I call Petco back and explain the over charge, she would not listen and insisted they didn't over charge me.

I went to Petco Redmond Oregon to Purchase a cot for my dog while in the store I needed to use the restroom and was denied their excuse was Covid and company policy I hinted I needed to use it in yhe worst way and they refused and suggest I could cross highway 97 and use the facilities at good well.

I responded maybe I should pee outside on the buildind then the employee advised he could be fired if he allowed me to use the restroom. I feel this policy is reckless and their decision to close their restrooms is in extremely poor judgement.

This case is about Petco calling me stating they could no longer groom my dogs as they were a high volume service and my dogs needed to be air dryed so didn't fit high volume. Could not figure out what the problem was as no one had said anything. Filed a complaint and was told the Manager would call me. Wanted to follow up on closure on case. This review is for the Petco in Westwood, Los Angeles. I've been a loyal customer at this Petco since I got my golden retriever puppy at 8 weeks old last year in April. My puppy went for puppy training there, grooming, Vetco visits, gets all his dog food and toys and other accessories there.

Of course he loves Petco and gets so excited and happy every time we come he simply must walk a circle inside the store. Today I barely walked inside with my dog when an employee very rudely stopped me and told me my dog and I has been banned from Petco.

I asked why since I was completely shocked that my loyalty has been rewarded with a ban? I was informed that it's because my dog sometimes chew on toys when he's in the store. 1 he occasionally does that when I'm paying because the cashier were his…

I needed to shop in your Harrisonburg Virginia store today. The cashier was not wearing a face mask, there was no protection between the customer and cashier, no social dustancing and NOTHING TO DISINFECT your cart or credit card key pad.

I feel like I'm suffocating. Perhaos she should not be dealing at such close range with customers. I would appreciate it if you would look into this matter. The numbers in Harrisonburg are rising dramatically and more care needs to be addressed in situations like this. Rynar

I had a appointment to get my 2 dogs groom at Petco, 1945 W. , UNIT 250, FLORENCE, SC 29501. Time 12:00 pm 13 April 2020 in which the appointment was made on 24 March 2020 was cancel by the store (PETCO) because I was 13 minute late.

I had explained to the petco manger that did you know that was severe storms and tree down in the area and it was very hard to get to your location, and that power lines down also all over the place. The manger said that knew of the storms.

I was told that they had a ten grace time for 10 minutes. I never seem that on their web site. Here's the issue what happen to customer service lacking at that location. I told the manger it take me a 1 hour to get your location and that's normal driving time.

And can you cancel my appointments if I had a block of time…
