I was checking out at the Moraga Safeway tonight at about 7:15 pm and the cashier named “Devan” was extremely rude. After he rang up my items, he pushed them to the side and started ringing up the next customer.

” He responded “The bags are right there. you can do it yourself”. I was so surprised at his response that I didn’t say anything and just proceeded to put my items in the bags. I have no problem bagging my own items, but for the last 50 plus years I have been shopping at Safeway the checker or the bagger has always put my items in the bags for me.

Deli out of rotisserie chicken, I asked why, was told because it's Monday? I was referred to customer service where I found Josh the person in charge who was looking at a cell phone with a co worker, when they decided to pay me any attention I asked what they were looking at, Josh said he was showing her some funco pop's???.

I then asked if maybe why there was no chicken in the deli is because the store manager is wasting time looking at Funko pops. He said no he had to send somebody home who was sick and vomiting all over the place.

It is unfair for the elderly and other people who are unable to use the Safeway just for U bargains. It would be great if everyone can have the same savings with the weekly ads. Without having to download the app.

I was able to buy icecream for 97 cents and the elderly people who have a hard time with the app ends up paying 6 dollars for the same icecream. Most people are on a fixed income that can't afford a smart phone or understand how the app works.

I tried grabbing a couple items from your Roosevelt and NE 75th location in Seattle wa and was turned away at the door. It’s posted that the store closes at 1am. I walked up ans 12:55 and there were 3 people at the door preventing people from coming in.

I only needed to grab 2 items and didn’t appreciate the store closing early or the rude employee turning me away with 5 minutes still remaining before closing time. Please address this issue. I get that people want to leave at a certain time after a long days work, but why advertise that you’re open until 1am.

The staff at the Safeway on 69th and Sandy are some of the rudest and apathetic public facing employees I've ever encountered. I've lived in this neighborhood for 23 years and have patronized this store frequently. These days I find the selection poor, the store dirty and the staff unwelcoming and rude or at best indifferent.

I'm sure this complaint won't matter to you since management and admin will get your paycheck no matter what but I think you should be ashamed. This store is no longer a neighborhood resource. It's a prime example of corporate greed and indifference.

You have lost me and my friends and neighbors as loyal customers forever.

I live right around the corner from Safeway so it is very convenient.

Also, the employees are wonderful and always try to help or correct issues. My BIG COMPLAINT is having to use your horrible app to get specials. I have tried "clipping" specials before I go to the store and there is ALWAYS a problem.

Several managers have "educated" me but nothing works smoothly. Last time I was told to NOT use my card and just try to use my phone number. I am sooo frustrated with your technology, I don't even want to go in the store.

Kroger's is 5 miles away but I will be going there instead. Tired of "clipping" and not being respected as a customer. Everyone should have access to your special prices. I will miss the employees. They really do what they can but your technology is toooo complicated for…

This was my first time using Safeway Pharmacy, probably not coming back. I went to Urgent care around the corner on 8/24/2022, they said use Safeway so I did only to find out the eye drops needed to be ordered and that I would receive a text message when they came in the next day.

I waited to take my lunch to run over once I received the text. I received the text on 8/25/2022 at 12:32 to come in and that my prescription was ready, I left work, a 20-25 minutes drive to the store to find the pharmacist was at lunch and I would need to wait another 15-20.

Well I had to get back to work, no where in the text was a time that the pharmacist would be out. I had to go back to work. This is gas and time, and now it is over 24 hours until I receive my eye drops, Never had this happen at Cost Co…

Overall Safeway since Albertsons took them over they don't screen their employees the customer service is really horrible I'd rather go to a trader Joe's the only reason I go to Safeway is cuz convenience otherwise I wouldn't shop at them all.

97 for specific brands and quantities. You had to scan the shelf tag barcode or the product barcode and the coupon would be available in the app. Unfortunately these tags weren’t scanning, so I asked an associate who was walking by if this price was valid and if I needed to do something differently.

She advised to tell the cashier when checking out and they would adjust the price, since this was an issue with a handful of the special tags. When checking out, the eggs were last on the belt and I told the cashier what the lady on the floor had said.

Hi, I shop at Safeway all the time, two times this year I noticed your French Rustic bread tasting like Sour Dough Bread.

First time I reported to the Manager of the store I shopped (Gellerts Blvd. South San Francisco) . It took a couple of weeks before it was corrected, but now again The bread tasting like it have Sour Dough inside.

It seems like whoever is making the Dough is messing uo regularly.

My husband is always followed around when we shop at the store at Argonaut Way in Fremont, CA. The security guard always stands next to him when he's paying to see if he actually is going to pay. I NEVER had this issue when I go by myself, but I already watched that happened when he's by himself, many times.

Today the cashier noticed something was wrong because he usually chats with him and asked him what happened, when he mentioned that he was being followed by the security guard who was also right there when he was paying, the security got an attitude and started cussing saying "don't come here with this bs of racism". This is beyond unacceptable.

Very disappointed you do not have plastic bags. Years ago we stopped having paper because we were cutting down trees. Does your paper bag come from somewhere other than a tree. Plastic can be recycled forever, like glass bottles and aluminum cans.

I live in Alberta, we produce petroleum. I would think head office would perhaps cater to their individual territories. I have stopped shopping here and now shop at your competitors where the plastic bags are thick and durable and biodegradable. Please bring back plastics. Ariel

I entered Safeway (3320 Arden Way, Sacramento, CA 95825) about 10 minutes before closing on Friday, July 22nd, 2022; after entering, a female employee with a black apron, making rounds past aisle, observed me entering / approaching an aisle, and proceeded to make a comment in a condescending tone to the security guard directly after observing me: the security guard did not reply to her comment.

I am so disappointed @ your Safeway/Albertsons store. The cashier who waited on my husband had to be asked to put bags in shopping cart for my 85 yr. old husband & balked @ having to do it as she was about to throw bags in cart my husband asked her to be careful & she did it, but very reluctantly & remained silent through the exchange. There was no one in line behind him. Why is this store the most unhelpful & constantly no guidance regarding bad attitudes. Rudest staff we’ve ever experienced. This store’s manager is never out on the floor observing his staff. What’s with that? No wonder no change! This has been brought to managers attention multiple times with no change in attitudes of staff! We are deciding it’s not worth the continued rudeness we have experienced.

I've HAD IT with Safeway! Sure we all understand supply chain problems but this is just one of sheer ignorance. We are a family that drinks a LOT of plain seltzer water. We average 2 cases of 24 cans of Safeway Signature brand Seltzer Water a Week! For YEARS now, there always seems to be a problem with keeping the cases in stock. We've asked for more multiple times at the store, nothing has improved.

Lately it's been even worse. We're at the local Safeway at least 3 days a week. 4 uut of 6 visits, there are no cases of plain seltzer water available. To add insult to injury, I walked in today and there were 40, yes FORTY cases of lime flavored water at the front of the store and they've been there for over a week. There has not been one head of iceberg lettuce at my local Safeway for three weeks!

Also, there have been no products left in the refrigerated vegetarian food section for over two weeks. I live in a tourist town. We are a small community, but during the summer and winter months our population expands exponentially. It appears that whoever is managing our local Safeway doesn't take into account the population increase during these seasons of the year.

Safeway is the only large market for about 20 miles. I know that means there is a captive audience with no competition for miles, but is it too much to ask that we be shown a bit of respect as customers?

Three times I haven't gotten my gas rewards. Club card didn't work. Twice clerks helped, and I got them. Today, at 15th Avenue Safeway in Longview, Washington, I attempted to get gas without card and punch in my phone number as requested.

When asked if I wanted the rewards, I punched yes. Then, instead of saying "remove handle and select grade," I was asked to punch in my phone number again, which I did and then was told NO REWARDS AVAILABLE. This time, clerk said he couldn't do anything.

I went inside store and talked with manager on duty. Her name is Lisa. Yes, I was livid and frustrated, but she took my anger personally, even though I assured her it was NOT directed at her. But to her, just expressing my wrath in front of her was unacceptable, and I was chastised.

Me and my elderly mother approached the register we unloaded all our groceries onto the conveyor belt and then the courtesy clerk from the beginning had started giving us smirk faces, once all the groceries were rang up, the courtesy clerk refused to load the remaining groceries I politely asked her if she could load those into the cart she just stood there and looked at me with attitude and with a big smirk on her face.

I went to Safeway in Queen Anne, Seattle, WA June 3. That store is supposed to be closed on June 4. I bought one bath tissue. 69. And it was supposed to mark down 50% off. 69. I asked your working girl to check the price.

After she checked the price, she broke the price tag and threw it away. She answered the price on the receipt was right. I felt I was cheated. I requested her to let me return the bath tissue. She told me she could not do it.

I have been shopping at this store for over 5 years and I need to check my receipts everytime I shop, because of being overcharges. My time is valuable and I should be able to trust the posted prices(TPR'S) Last week I was overcharged $2.00 for NS cherub tomatoes. $5.99 vs $3.99. As I was leaving the store today, I again checked my receipt and another overcharge!! Today I was overcharged $1.00 on Galbani Ricotta at $5.99. I accidentally scanned an item twice when checking out. Didn’t realize until I returned home. Lady at the pharmacy window was incredibly rude. My son had an allergic reaction to ants and we were at the urgent care until late last night. The doctor sent in the prescription for today. I went to pick it up during my lunch break and the lady said it wasn’t ready because they had just gotten the order.

I shop at the Safeway at 83rd Ave & Camelback in Phoenix, AZ I have always liked Safeway's produce but lately I have had very bad experiences with the produce and fruit. On Saturday 4/23/2022 I bought Strawberries, I used some on Sunday and on Monday I went to fix my lunch and my strawberries were all rotten and moldy, this is like the third time this has happened.

Also I purchased Cotton Candy Grapes on the same Saturday and by Monday afternoon they were starting to go bad in the bag. My fruit is always brought home right away and stored properly. I don't know what is going on at this store but I am really tired of paying the high prices for fruit just to have to throw it away in 2 days.

This is the second time I have experienced this and have absolutely no idea how she is a help to anyone. I believe her name is Kate but no positive. Today is Thursday, the 7th. I requested a refill of a gel on Monday, through the website. Additionally, I reached out to the doctor's office since I had 0 refills left. Since Monday, no notifications. I called this morning and she told me "I wasn't here yesterday so I can't tell you when it was ordered or when it will be at the store." Unbelievable, no computers used there?

tried various ways to be charged the digital price of Starbucks coffee (ground). One store in town says that were never set up for digital.

Second store agrees that it is the right price. or more. 99 per pkg. I showed the checker the picture of the correct price, and showed the digital link on my phone. The checker said it rang up correctly. I went back to the customer service counter but the clerk was busy reading something and after 3 minutes of no help I left the store.

Safeway will not miss my business; however, my goal will be to forever tell my story how Safeway is deliberate in over charging.

I just shopped using the self checkout at Safeway #1562. I purchased a few items that had a 50% sticker. The customer service person overseeing the self checkout was a young girl named Ashley. She wouldn’t take the stickers off for her to scan and asked me to do it.

I have never had to do this when checking out before. Then I noticed she’d had these very long decorated fingernails. If she can’t perform her cashier responsibilities due to her long fingernails, she should either find another job or cut them.

My receipt says #3/26/2022 12:53 1562 53 20. I managed retail stores and find this unacceptable. Thank you, Laurie Andrew.

Woodland Washington Safeway has a very rude sarcastic employee working for them out at the gas island. He is very unprofessional and sould not be working in public trying to wait on customer's. So everyone knows who I'm talking about.

Don't go there while he. I understand this isn't the first complaint they had today about this employee hopefully they will do something about it. I have fourteen people in my family and. spend a lot my money at Safeway.

RE Dispute # FIN0012414

I placed an order with Safeway on March 11, using my EBT card. However, Safeway charged my personal bank debit card for the full amount. I contacted Safeway 24 hours ago about this issue and was told that I would receive a call back. I did not get a call back. Instead I had to call again to get a response.

I contacted Safeway again today and was told that I could expect a resolution within 7 days to 2 weeks. This is unconscionable!

Why does it take Safeway 7-10 days to correct a billing issue that was done erroneously by Safeway ? I have used Safeway on numerous occasions in the past, however I will not be using it from this point on.

I wanted to get pastrami at the deli, no one around to help, no bell to get attention, found butcher in back handling raw chicken. I asked if he could help me with deli. He came out to cut pastrami handling it with same gloves he was handling chicken.

I should have asked him to change his gloves but did not. He should have known to do that.

When in Gods name are you going to trainer your check out staff how to bag groceries? They were well trained before the pandemic, now I get bags that are to heavy to move, with bread and bananas on the bottom of the bags, yogurt cups split open, grapes mashed and bags so heavy I have to split them up in to two bags when I get out to the car. I choose not to re-bag in the store because people behind me are waiting.. I use 4 different Safeway's stores in my area and all of them have the same problem...

Also, does your recruiting department purposely pick rude people to staff your stores? You know we have a choice to shop else where...Fred Meyers is looking pretty good.. they have fresh fruit not moldy fruit.

So every time I have a family member go into the Safeway store in Renton WA on 4th Street there is never a cart that They can use. Most of them are broken. My family members depend on those to be able to make their shopping trip as easy as possible. I suggest That they all get repaired or new ones get put into the stores. I also think more then 4 should be available so put in more stations to store more carts. Please fix ASAP. This is a serious problem at this store.

We called in my husbands medications over a week ago, he was told on the recording that his medications would be ready Saturday the 29th. There were no more refills left and the pharmacies' automatic process said that they would need to contact his Dr. to refill his medications.

Well over a week has passed and he has not received his medications. They are very important with his health condition. 's office only to find out that he cannot get his meds filled til he sees the dr. The pharmacy should have let him know that instead of just leaving him in limbo and now without his life saving medications.

I tried to call the pharmacy from 9:46 this morning until well after 10:10 this morning and no one even answered the phone. This is ridiculous. The pharmacy could have let him know last week…

Racial profiled by an employee named Michelle and assistant manager David! I asked for her assistance and was completely ignored and then went to another employee and she comes to The next aisle and tells him to watch me. I was speechless as I shop there weekly and have never had an encounter like This.

I asked to speak to the manager who did not address this issue as an issue but rather made me feel like it wasn’t important . That it is okay to be an employee at Albany Safeway and be rasict.

Safeway Pharmacy redwood Rd Rd Castro Valley- this rude lady at pharmacy at Castro Valley redwood Rd has the worst attitude ever. I came in for a 11am appointment covid booster shot and was not bringing my card for 1st and second dose.

She asked for the dates and I scroll through my phone and saw a screenshot of the one I got from the website from CDPH where you see the dates. I gave her the form they sent through my email and it was not in the instructions to bring the old card.

I added the dates of the vaccine on the form, but she still insisted a photo of the card or the card itself. She asked me to go home and get it. So I went home and took a photo of my card.

Safeway pharmacy. A clerk just now told me they put my prescription back on the shelf since it had been 10 days since it was filled. My first call from Safeway was 12/29. It is now Jan 4. Not 10 days. There should be a mention on the robo calls of the date the item will be reshelved. I didn’t call to say I wouldn’t be picking it up immediately because of the weather.

In short—pharmacy worker told me they had nothing to do with corporate messages or rules and then told me she would put a rush on it and it would be ready in a couple of hours. I thanked her and said I’d return in 2 hours at which point she said that wasn’t a couple of hours. (?) And I needed to wait until 3pm which was 5 hours—as they were low on help.

I know people are stressed with pandemic and snow, but ‘it’s not my job’…

Safeway in Medford Oregon. I submitted my prescriptions on Tuesday the 14th, which were already on auto refill, but they weren't auto refilled. Its Christmas Day, and I still have not received them, nor will they answer the phones. Its not right that I'm being deprived of my life saving meds so that they can have a great holiday.

Should my health take a turn, guess who's getting sued? Totally disgusted!!.

I turned in 15.00 dollars in cans. In and held my tickets from bottle machine for a couple of weeks before i was able to turn in cause i had to leave town for couple of weeks then tried to turn my slips in when i got back in town they refused to except them this is bullshit and i wont shop at safeway again!

I ordered 3 pieces of chicken at the deli in the Lloyd center Safeway but when I got to my car I noticed 2 in the bag. The employees should pay closer attention to what the customer is saying.

Your 3747 grand ave store now has junkies and bums living right outside your entrance. I take my grandchildren to that store, and fear for their safety. Please have him removed.
